Sourate Ar-Rahman (55) unvowelled

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. The All-Benevolent taught the Recitation.i 2

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الرحمن علم القرءان

He created the human being, He taught him clear expression. 4

خلق الانسن علمه البيان

The sun and the moon follow a precise reckoning. 5

الشمس والقمر بحسبان

The stemless plant and the tree bow down.i 6

والنجم والشجر يسجدان

And the sky, He raised it, and He set up the balance — so that you would not exceed the limits in weighing: maintain the weight with equity and do not skew the balance. 9

والسماء رفعها ووضع الميزان الا تطغوا في الميزان واقيموا الوزن بالقسط ولا تخسروا الميزان

And the earth, He established it for the creatures; therein are fruits, the palm with its enclosed spathes, the edible grain, and the fragrant plant. 12

والارض وضعها للانام فيها فكهة والنخل ذات الاكمام والحب ذو العصف والريحان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 13

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

He created the human being from ringing clay like pottery, and He created the Occulted from a pure flame of fire.i 15

خلق الانسن من صلصل كالفخار وخلق الجان من مارج من نار

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 16

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

Guardian of the two easts and Guardian of the two wests. 17

رب المشرقين ورب المغربين

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 18

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

He made the two seas flow together, meeting; between them a barrier they do not cross. 20

مرج البحرين يلتقيان بينهما برزخ لا يبغيان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 21

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

From them both come forth the pearl and the coral. 22

يخرج منهما اللولو والمرجان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 23

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

And to Him belong the vessels raised up at sea, like mountains. 24

وله الجوار المنشات في البحر كالاعلم

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 25

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

Everything upon it is perishing, and only the Face of your Guardian remains, holder of majesty and nobility. 27

كل من عليها فان ويبقى وجه ربك ذو الجلل والاكرام

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 28

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

Those in the heavens and on the earth entreat Him; every day He is engaged in some matter. 29

يسله من في السموت والارض كل يوم هو في شان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 30

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

We shall attend to you, O you two burdened ones.i 31

سنفرغ لكم ايه الثقلان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 32

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

O assembly of the Occulted and humans, if you are able to pass beyond the confines of the heavens and the earth, then pass beyond them.i 33

يمعشر الجن والانس ان استطعتم ان تنفذوا من اقطار السموت والارض فانفذوا

You will not pass beyond them except with sovereign authority. 33

لا تنفذون الا بسلطن

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 34

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

Upon you both will be sent a blaze of flame and a jet of molten copper, and you will not be able to help each other. 35

يرسل عليكما شواظ من نار ونحاس فلا تنتصران

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 36

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

And when the sky splits open and becomes rose-colored like tinted leather — which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? — on that day, neither human nor Occulted will be asked about his wrong.i 39

فاذا انشقت السماء فكانت وردة كالدهان فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان فيوميذ لا يسل عن ذنبه انس ولا جان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 40

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

The severed will be recognized by their features, and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet. 41

يعرف المجرمون بسيمهم فيوخذ بالنوصي والاقدام

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 42

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

This is Jahannam, which the severed used to deny; they will circulate between it and boiling water at its peak. 44

هذه جهنم التي يكذب بها المجرمون يطوفون بينها وبين حميم ءان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 45

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

And for whoever feared standing before his Guardian, two gardens — which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? — with abundant branches. 48

ولمن خاف مقام ربه جنتان فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان ذواتا افنان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 49

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

In them both, two springs flowing.i 50

فيهما عينان تجريان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 51

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

In them both, of every fruit, two kinds. 52

فيهما من كل فكهة زوجان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 53

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

Reclining upon carpets lined with thick brocade, the harvest of the two gardens within reach. 54

متكين على فرش بطاينها من استبرق وجنى الجنتين دان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 55

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

Therein are beings of restrained gaze, untouched by any human or Occulted before them.i 56

فيهن قصرت الطرف لم يطمثهن انس قبلهم ولا جان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 57

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

As though they were rubies and coral. 58

كانهن الياقوت والمرجان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 59

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

Is the reward of good conduct anything but good conduct? 60

هل جزاء الاحسن الا الاحسن

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 61

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

And besides these two, two other gardens — which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? — deep green. 64

ومن دونهما جنتان فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان مدهامتان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 65

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

In them both, two gushing springs.i 66

فيهما عينان نضاختان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 67

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

In them both, fruits, palm trees, and pomegranates. 68

فيهما فكهة ونخل ورمان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 69

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

Therein are beings excellent and beautiful. 70

فيهن خيرت حسان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 71

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

Beings to converse with, kept within the tents.i 72

حور مقصورت في الخيام

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 73

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

Untouched by any human or Occulted before them.i 74

لم يطمثهن انس قبلهم ولا جان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 75

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

Reclining upon green cushions and exceptional carpets, magnificent. 76

متكين على رفرف خضر وعبقري حسان

Which then of your Guardian's blessings do you both deny? 77

فباى ءالاء ربكما تكذبان

Blessed be the Name of your Guardian, holder of majesty and nobility. 78

تبرك اسم ربك ذي الجلل والاكرام
