Sourate At-Talaq (65) unvowelled

In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Benevolent. O Prophet! When you divorce women, divorce them with regard to their prescribed waiting period, and count that period precisely.i 1

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم يايها النبي اذا طلقتم النساء فطلقوهن لعدتهن واحصوا العدة

And be mindful of God, your Guardian. 1

واتقوا الله ربكم

Do not make them leave their homes, 1

لا تخرجوهن من بيوتهن

nor should they leave, unless they commit a flagrant indecency. 1

ولا يخرجن الا ان ياتين بفحشة مبينة

Those are the limits set by God. 1

وتلك حدود الله

And whoever transgresses the limits of God has wronged his own Self. 1

ومن يتعد حدود الله فقد ظلم نفسه

You do not know: perhaps God will bring about, after that, a new turn of events. 1

لا تدري لعل الله يحدث بعد ذلك امرا

Then, when they reach their term, retain them in a recognized manner or part from them in a recognized manner,i 2

فاذا بلغن اجلهن فامسكوهن بمعروف او فارقوهن بمعروف

and take as witnesses two just persons among you, 2

واشهدوا ذوى عدل منكم

and give that testimony for God's sake. 2

واقيموا الشهدة لله

This is what whoever believes in God and the Last Day is exhorted by. 2

ذلكم يوعظ به من كان يومن بالله واليوم الءاخر

And whoever is mindful of God, He grants him a way out, and provides for him from where he does not expect. 3

ومن يتق الله يجعل له مخرجا ويرزقه من حيث لا يحتسب

And whoever places his trust in God, He is sufficient for him. 3

ومن يتوكل على الله فهو حسبه

God accomplishes His purpose. 3

ان الله بلغ امره

God has set a measure for everything. 3

قد جعل الله لكل شىء قدرا

As for those of your women who no longer expect menstruation, if you are in doubt, their waiting period is three months, and likewise for those who have not had their menstruation [for a reason other than menopause]. 4

والي ييسن من المحيض من نسايكم ان ارتبتم فعدتهن ثلثة اشهر والي لم يحضن

And for pregnant women, their term is when they deliver. 4

واولت الاحمال اجلهن ان يضعن حملهن

And whoever is mindful of God, He makes his affair easy for him. 4

ومن يتق الله يجعل له من امره يسرا

That is God's command, which He has sent down to you. 5

ذلك امر الله انزله اليكم

And whoever is mindful of God, He effaces his misdeeds and increases his reward. 5

ومن يتق الله يكفر عنه سياته ويعظم له اجرا

House them where you yourselves dwell, according to your means, 6

اسكنوهن من حيث سكنتم من وجدكم

and do not harass them so as to distress them. 6

ولا تضاروهن لتضيقوا عليهن

And if they are pregnant, provide for them until they deliver. 6

وان كن اولت حمل فانفقوا عليهن حتى يضعن حملهن

Then, if they take charge of the child for you, give them their due payment, and consult together honorably.i 6

فان ارضعن لكم فاتوهن اجورهن واتمروا بينكم بمعروف

And if you have difficulty, then another woman will take charge of the child for him. 6

وان تعاسرتم فسترضع له اخرى

Let the affluent spend according to his affluence, 7

لينفق ذو سعة من سعته

and let whoever's provision is restricted spend from what God has given him. 7

ومن قدر عليه رزقه فلينفق مما ءاتىه الله

God does not burden a Self beyond what He has given it. 7

لا يكلف الله نفسا الا ما ءاتىها

God will bring ease after hardship. 7

سيجعل الله بعد عسر يسرا

How many a town rebelled against the command of its Guardian and His messengers! We called it to a strict account and punished it with a dreadful punishment, and it tasted the grave consequence of its conduct. 9

وكاين من قرية عتت عن امر ربها ورسله فحاسبنها حسابا شديدا وعذبنها عذابا نكرا فذاقت وبال امرها

And the outcome of its conduct was ruin. 9

وكان عقبة امرها خسرا

God has prepared for them a severe punishment. 10

اعد الله لهم عذابا شديدا

So be mindful of God, O you who possess understanding, 10

فاتقوا الله ياولي الالبب

you who believe; God has sent down to you a Reminder, 10

الذين ءامنوا قد انزل الله اليكم ذكرا

a messenger who recites to you God's clarifying signs, so as to bring those who believe and do righteous deeds out of the darknesses into the light. 11

رسولا يتلوا عليكم ءايت الله مبينت ليخرج الذين ءامنوا وعملوا الصلحت من الظلمت الى النور

And whoever believes in God and does righteous deeds, He will admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide there forever; God has indeed granted him a goodly provision.i 11

ومن يومن بالله ويعمل صلحا يدخله جنت تجري من تحتها الانهر خلدين فيها ابدا قد احسن الله له رزقا

God is the One who created seven heavens, and of the earth their like. 12

الله الذي خلق سبع سموت ومن الارض مثلهن

The command descends among them, so that you may know that God is capable of all things, and that God encompasses all things in knowledge. 12

يتنزل الامر بينهن لتعلموا ان الله على كل شىء قدير وان الله قد احاط بكل شىء علما
