Feeding Without Expecting
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Has there come upon the human being a period of time when he was not a thing worth mentioning?
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم هل اتى على الانسن حين من الدهر لم يكن شيا مذكوراIndeed, We created the human being from a mingled drop, to test him; and We made him hearing and seeing.
انا خلقنا الانسن من نطفة امشاج نبتليه فجعلنه سميعا بصيراIndeed, We guided him along the way, be he grateful or be he disowning.
انا هدينه السبيل اما شاكرا واما كفوراIndeed, We have prepared for the disowners chains, shackles, and an inferno.
انا اعتدنا للكفرين سلسلا واغللا وسعيراIndeed, the virtuous will drink from a cup mixed with camphor, a spring from which the obedient ones of God drink, making it gush forth abundantly.
ان الابرار يشربون من كاس كان مزاجها كافورا عينا يشرب بها عباد الله يفجرونها تفجيراThey are faithful to their vows, and they fear a Day whose evil spreads far and wide.
يوفون بالنذر ويخافون يوما كان شره مستطيراAnd they give food, despite their love for it, to the destitute, the orphan, and the captive: "We feed you only for the direction of God;
ويطعمون الطعام على حبه مسكينا ويتيما واسيرا انما نطعمكم لوجه اللهwe desire from you neither recompense nor gratitude.
لا نريد منكم جزاء ولا شكوراIndeed, we fear from our Guardian a Day, austere and dreadful."
انا نخاف من ربنا يوما عبوسا قمطريراSo God has protected them from the evil of that Day and has granted them radiance and joy.
فوقىهم الله شر ذلك اليوم ولقىهم نضرة وسروراAnd He has recompensed them, for what they patiently endured, with a garden and silk, reclining therein upon adorned couches, seeing therein neither sun nor bitter cold; its shades will hang close over them, and its clusters of fruit made docile, within easy reach.
وجزىهم بما صبروا جنة وحريرا متكين فيها على الارايك لا يرون فيها شمسا ولا زمهريرا ودانية عليهم ظللها وذللت قطوفها تذليلاThere will circulate among them vessels of silver and goblets that were as clear as crystal,
ويطاف عليهم بانية من فضة واكواب كانت قواريراcrystal of silver, whose measure they have determined precisely.
قواريرا من فضة قدروها تقديراAnd they will be given to drink there a cup mixed with ginger, from a spring therein called Salsabil.
ويسقون فيها كاسا كان مزاجها زنجبيلا عينا فيها تسمى سلسبيلاThere will circulate among them children made eternal; when you see them, you would think them scattered pearls.
ويطوف عليهم ولدن مخلدون اذا رايتهم حسبتهم لولوا منثوراAnd when you look there, you will see bliss and a vast dominion: upon them will be clothes of fine green silk and brocade.
واذا رايت ثم رايت نعيما وملكا كبيرا عليهم ثياب سندس خضر واستبرقAnd they have been ornamented with bracelets of silver.
وحلوا اساور من فضةAnd their Guardian has given them to drink a purely purifying drink.
وسقىهم ربهم شرابا طهوراIndeed, this has been for you a recompense, and your effort has been met with gratitude.
ان هذا كان لكم جزاء وكان سعيكم مشكوراIndeed, it is We who have sent down to you the Recitation, a gradual sending down.
انا نحن نزلنا عليك القرءان تنزيلاSo be patient with the judgment of your Guardian, and do not obey among them a transgressor or a disowner.
فاصبر لحكم ربك ولا تطع منهم ءاثما او كفوراAnd remember the name of your Guardian morning and evening.
واذكر اسم ربك بكرة واصيلاAnd during a part of the night prostrate to Him, and glorify Him a long portion of the night.
ومن اليل فاسجد له وسبحه ليلا طويلاIndeed, these love the immediate life, and leave behind them a heavy Day.
ان هولاء يحبون العاجلة ويذرون وراءهم يوما ثقيلاIt is We who created them and strengthened their frame; and when We will it, We will replace them entirely with their likenesses.
نحن خلقنهم وشددنا اسرهم واذا شينا بدلنا امثلهم تبديلاIndeed, this is a reminder.
ان هذه تذكرةSo whoever wills may take, toward his Guardian, a way.
فمن شاء اتخذ الى ربه سبيلاAnd you will not, unless God wills.
وما تشاءون الا ان يشاء اللهIndeed, God is ever All-Knowing, Wise.
ان الله كان عليما حكيماHe admits whom He wills into His benevolence.
يدخل من يشاء في رحمتهAnd for the wrongdoers, He has prepared a painful punishment.
والظلمين اعد لهم عذابا اليما
