Whoever Guards Himself
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. O Prophet! When you divorce women, divorce them with regard to their prescribed waiting period, and count that period precisely.
بسم ٱلله ٱلرحمن ٱلرحيم يأيها ٱلنبي إذا طلقتم ٱلنسآء فطلقوهن لعدتهن وأحصوا ٱلعدةAnd guard yourselves toward God, your Guardian.
وٱتقوا ٱلله ربكمDo not make them leave their homes,
لا تخرجوهن من بيوتهنnor should they leave, unless they commit a flagrant indecency.
ولا يخرجن إلآ أن يأتين بفحشة مبينةThose are the limits of God.
وتلك حدود ٱللهAnd whoever crosses the limits of God has wronged his own Self.
ومن يتعد حدود ٱلله فقد ظلم نفسهYou do not know: perhaps God will bring about, after that, a new turn of events.
لا تدري لعل ٱلله يحدث بعد ذلك أمراThen, when they reach their term, retain them in a recognized manner or part from them in a recognized manner,
فإذا بلغن أجلهن فأمسكوهن بمعروف أو فارقوهن بمعروفand take as witnesses two just persons among you,
وأشهدوا ذوى عدل منكمand maintain the testimony for God.
وأقيموا ٱلشهدة للهThis is what whoever believes in God and the Last Day is exhorted by.
ذلكم يوعظ به من كان يؤمن بٱلله وٱليوم ٱلءاخرAnd whoever guards himself toward God, He grants him a way out, and provides for him from where he does not expect.
ومن يتق ٱلله يجعل له مخرجا ويرزقه من حيث لا يحتسبAnd whoever relies upon God, He is sufficient for him.
ومن يتوكل على ٱلله فهو حسبهGod accomplishes His purpose.
إن ٱلله بلغ أمرهGod has set a measure for everything.
قد جعل ٱلله لكل شىء قدراAs for those of your women who no longer expect menstruation, if you are in doubt, their waiting period is three months, and likewise for those who have not had their menstruation.
وٱلي يئسن من ٱلمحيض من نسآئكم إن ٱرتبتم فعدتهن ثلثة أشهر وٱلي لم يحضنAnd for pregnant women, their term is when they deliver.
وأولت ٱلأحمال أجلهن أن يضعن حملهنAnd whoever guards himself toward God, He makes his affair easy for him.
ومن يتق ٱلله يجعل له من أمره يسراThat is God's command, which He has sent down to you.
ذلك أمر ٱلله أنزله إليكمAnd whoever guards himself toward God, He covers his misdeeds and increases his reward.
ومن يتق ٱلله يكفر عنه سياته ويعظم له أجراHouse them where you yourselves dwell, according to your means,
أسكنوهن من حيث سكنتم من وجدكمand do not harass them so as to distress them.
ولا تضآروهن لتضيقوا عليهنAnd if they are pregnant, provide for them until they deliver.
وإن كن أولت حمل فأنفقوا عليهن حتى يضعن حملهنThen, if they take charge of the child for you, give them their rewards, and consult together in a recognized manner.
فإن أرضعن لكم فاتوهن أجورهن وأتمروا بينكم بمعروفAnd if you have difficulty, then another woman will take charge of the child for him.
وإن تعاسرتم فسترضع له أخرىLet the affluent spend according to his affluence,
لينفق ذو سعة من سعتهand let whoever's provision is restricted spend from what God has given him.
ومن قدر عليه رزقه فلينفق ممآ ءاتىه ٱللهGod does not burden a Self beyond what He has given it.
لا يكلف ٱلله نفسا إلا مآ ءاتىهاGod will bring ease after hardship.
سيجعل ٱلله بعد عسر يسراHow many a town defied with insolence the command of its Guardian and His messengers! We called it to a strict account and punished it with a horrible punishment, and it tasted the grave consequence of its conduct.
وكأين من قرية عتت عن أمر ربها ورسله فحاسبنها حسابا شديدا وعذبنها عذابا نكرا فذاقت وبال أمرهاAnd the outcome of its conduct was ruin.
وكان عقبة أمرها خسراGod has prepared for them a severe punishment.
أعد ٱلله لهم عذابا شديداSo guard yourselves toward God, O possessors of intelligence,
فٱتقوا ٱلله يأولي ٱلألببyou who believe; God has sent down to you a Reminder,
ٱلذين ءامنوا قد أنزل ٱلله إليكم ذكراa messenger who recites to you God's clarifying signs, so as to bring those who have believed and done righteous deeds out of the darknesses into the light.
رسولا يتلوا عليكم ءايت ٱلله مبينت ليخرج ٱلذين ءامنوا وعملوا ٱلصلحت من ٱلظلمت إلى ٱلنورAnd whoever believes in God and does righteous deeds, He will admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide there eternally, forever; God has indeed granted him a goodly provision.
ومن يؤمن بٱلله ويعمل صلحا يدخله جنت تجري من تحتها ٱلأنهر خلدين فيهآ أبدا قد أحسن ٱلله له رزقاGod is the One who created seven heavens, and of the earth their like.
ٱلله ٱلذي خلق سبع سموت ومن ٱلأرض مثلهنThe command descends among them, so that you may know that God is capable of all things, and that God encompasses all things in knowledge.
يتنزل ٱلأمر بينهن لتعلموا أن ٱلله على كل شىء قدير وأن ٱلله قد أحاط بكل شىء علما
