Al-Haqqa

• 69:2

  In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. That which establishes the real! What is that which establishes the real?

  بسم ٱلله ٱلرحمن ٱلرحيم ٱلحآقة ما ٱلحآقة
• 69:3

  And what will make you know what that which establishes the real is?

  ومآ أدرىك ما ٱلحآقة
• 69:4

  the Depleters [Thamud] and the Recidivists [Aad] denied the Crash.

  كذبت ثمود وعاد بٱلقارعة
• 69:5

  As for the Depleters [Thamud], they were annihilated by the excessive [cry].

  فأما ثمود فأهلكوا بٱلطاغية
• 69:7

  And as for the Recidivists [Aad], they were annihilated by an icy, insolent wind, which He subjected against them for seven nights and eight days in succession,

  وأما عاد فأهلكوا بريح صرصر عاتية سخرها عليهم سبع ليال وثمنية أيام حسوما
• 69:7

  so that you would have seen the people lying prostrate, as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees.

  فترى ٱلقوم فيها صرعى كأنهم أعجاز نخل خاوية
• 69:8

  Do you see any remnant of them?

  فهل ترى لهم من باقية
• 69:10

  And Fir'awn, and those before him, and the overturned cities committed the offense; they disobeyed the messenger of their Guardian, so He seized them with an ever-intensifying seizure.

  وجآء فرعون ومن قبله وٱلمؤتفكت بٱلخاطئة فعصوا رسول ربهم فأخذهم أخذة رابية
• 69:12

  When the water overflowed, We carried you on the vessel, so as to make it a reminder for you, and so that a retaining ear might retain it.

  إنا لما طغا ٱلمآء حملنكم في ٱلجارية لنجعلها لكم تذكرة وتعيهآ أذن وعية
• 69:17

  When the Horn is blown with a single blast, and the earth and the mountains are lifted and crushed with a single blow, on that day the Event will occur, and the heaven will split apart and be, on that day, frail, with the Agent at its edge,

  فإذا نفخ في ٱلصور نفخة وحدة وحملت ٱلأرض وٱلجبال فدكتا دكة وحدة فيومئذ وقعت ٱلواقعة وٱنشقت ٱلسمآء فهي يومئذ واهية وٱلملك على أرجآئها
• 69:18

  and eight [of them] will bear, on that day, the Edifice of your Guardian above them. On that day you will be exposed, and nothing about you will remain hidden.

  ويحمل عرش ربك فوقهم يومئذ ثمنية يومئذ تعرضون لا تخفى منكم خافية
• 69:19

  As for the one who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: 'Here, read my record!

  فأما من أوتي كتبه بيمينه فيقول هآؤم ٱقرءوا كتبيه
• 69:20

  I thought that I would meet my reckoning.'

  إني ظننت أني ملق حسابيه
• 69:23

  He will be in a satisfying life, in an elevated garden, whose fruit clusters are within reach.

  فهو في عيشة راضية في جنة عالية قطوفها دانية
• 69:24

  'Eat and drink

  كلوا وٱشربوا
• 69:24

  pleasantly, for what you sent forth in the days gone by.'

  هنيا بمآ أسلفتم في ٱلأيام ٱلخالية
• 69:25

  But as for the one who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: 'Oh, would that I had not been given my record,

  وأما من أوتي كتبه بشماله فيقول يليتني لم أوت كتبيه
• 69:26

  and that I had not known what my reckoning was!

  ولم أدر ما حسابيه
• 69:28

  Would that it had been the final end! My goods have not availed me,

  يليتها كانت ٱلقاضية مآ أغنى عني ماليه
• 69:29

  my authority has vanished from me.'

  هلك عني سلطنيه
• 69:32

  'Seize him, then bind him, then expose him to the Blaze, then insert him into a chain seventy cubits in length.

  خذوه فغلوه ثم ٱلجحيم صلوه ثم في سلسلة ذرعها سبعون ذراعا فٱسلكوه
• 69:34

  He did not believe in God, the Immense, nor did he urge the feeding of the destitute.

  إنه كان لا يؤمن بٱلله ٱلعظيم ولا يحض على طعام ٱلمسكين
• 69:37

  So today he has here no warm friend, nor any food except a foul discharge, which only those at fault eat.'

  فليس له ٱليوم ههنا حميم ولا طعام إلا من غسلين لا يأكله إلا ٱلخطون
• 69:42

  No! I swear by what you see and what you do not see: this is surely the word of a noble messenger, and it is not the word of a beguiling rhetorician — little do you believe — nor the word of a soothsayer.

  فلآ أقسم بما تبصرون وما لا تبصرون إنه لقول رسول كريم وما هو بقول شاعر قليلا ما تؤمنون ولا بقول كاهن
• 69:42

  Little do you remember.

  قليلا ما تذكرون
• 69:43

  A revealed descent from the Guardian of all beings.

  تنزيل من رب ٱلعلمين
• 69:47

  And had he attributed to Us some fabricated sayings, We would have seized him by the right hand, then severed his aorta, and not one of you could have shielded him from Us.

  ولو تقول علينا بعض ٱلأقاويل لأخذنا منه بٱليمين ثم لقطعنا منه ٱلوتين فما منكم من أحد عنه حجزين
• 69:48

  And this is surely a reminder for those who guard themselves [before God].

  وإنه لتذكرة للمتقين
• 69:49

  And We surely know that among you are deniers.

  وإنا لنعلم أن منكم مكذبين
• 69:50

  And this is surely a bitter regret for those who disown.

  وإنه لحسرة على ٱلكفرين
• 69:51

  And this is surely the truth of certainty.

  وإنه لحق ٱليقين
• 69:52

  So glorify in the name of your Guardian, the Immense.

  فسبح بٱسم ربك ٱلعظيم
