Al-Buruj
The Companions of the Trench
بسم ٱلله ٱلرحمن ٱلرحيم
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent.
By the sky containing constellations! And by the promised Day! And by a witness and what is witnessed! May the companions of the trench perish, of the fire richly fueled, when they sat around it, and were witnesses to what they were doing to the believers.
وٱلسمآء ذات ٱلبروج وٱليوم ٱلموعود وشاهد ومشهود قتل أصحب ٱلأخدود ٱلنار ذات ٱلوقود إذ هم عليها قعود وهم على ما يفعلون بٱلمؤمنين شهود
And they resented them for nothing except that they believed in God, the All-Powerful, the Praiseworthy, to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth.
وما نقموا منهم إلآ أن يؤمنوا بٱلله ٱلعزيز ٱلحميد ٱلذي له ملك ٱلسموت وٱلأرض
And God is witness over all things.
وٱلله على كل شىء شهيد
Indeed, those who put to trial the believing men and believing women and then did not repent will have the punishment of Jahannam, and they will have the punishment of the burning fire.
إن ٱلذين فتنوا ٱلمؤمنين وٱلمؤمنت ثم لم يتوبوا فلهم عذاب جهنم ولهم عذاب ٱلحريق
Indeed, those who have believed and done sound deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow.
إن ٱلذين ءامنوا وعملوا ٱلصلحت لهم جنت تجري من تحتها ٱلأنهر
That is the great triumph.
ذلك ٱلفوز ٱلكبير
Surely, the strike of your Guardian is severe.
إن بطش ربك لشديد
Indeed, it is He who begins and remakes.
إنه هو يبدئ ويعيد
And He is the Most-Forgiving, the Loving, Holder of the Edifice,
وهو ٱلغفور ٱلودود ذو ٱلعرش
the Glorious, ever doing what He wants.
ٱلمجيد فعال لما يريد
Has the discourse concerning the armies, of Fir'awn and the Thamud, reached you?
هل أتىك حديث ٱلجنود فرعون وثمود
Rather, those who have disowned persist in denial, and God encompasses them from behind.
بل ٱلذين كفروا في تكذيب وٱلله من ورآئهم محيط
Rather, it is a glorious Recitation, upon a Preserved Tablet.
بل هو قرءان مجيد في لوح محفوظ
