The Abode of Peace
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Alif. Lam. Ra.
بسم ٱلله ٱلرحمن ٱلرحيم الرThese are the signs of the Scripture full of wisdom.
تلك ءايت ٱلكتب ٱلحكيمIs it then a wonder for people that We revealed to a man among them: "Warn mankind,"
أكان للناس عجبا أن أوحينآ إلى رجل منهم أن أنذر ٱلناسand give good news to those who have believed that they have, with their Guardian, a firm standing of truth?
وبشر ٱلذين ءامنوا أن لهم قدم صدق عند ربهمThose who disown say: "This is surely a manifest illusion."
قال ٱلكفرون إن هذا لسحر مبينYour Guardian is indeed God, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself upon the Edifice.
إن ربكم ٱلله ٱلذي خلق ٱلسموت وٱلأرض في ستة أيام ثم ٱستوى على ٱلعرشHe governs the Order.
يدبر ٱلأمرNo intercessor except after His permission.
ما من شفيع إلا من بعد إذنهThat is God, your Guardian.
ذلكم ٱلله ربكمSo obey Him.
فٱعبدوهWill you not then remember?
أفلا تذكرونTo Him will be your return, all together.
إليه مرجعكم جميعاIt is God's promise, in truth.
وعد ٱلله حقاIt is indeed He who begins creation, then remakes it, so as to recompense with equity those who believed and did righteous deeds.
إنه يبدؤا ٱلخلق ثم يعيده ليجزي ٱلذين ءامنوا وعملوا ٱلصلحت بٱلقسطAs for those who disowned, they will have a scalding drink and a painful punishment, for having disowned.
وٱلذين كفروا لهم شراب من حميم وعذاب أليم بما كانوا يكفرونIt is He who made the sun a brightness and the moon a light, and appointed it stations, so that you might know the count of years and the reckoning.
هو ٱلذي جعل ٱلشمس ضيآء وٱلقمر نورا وقدره منازل لتعلموا عدد ٱلسنين وٱلحسابGod created that in nothing but truth.
ما خلق ٱلله ذلك إلا بٱلحقThus He details the signs for a people who know.
يفصل ٱلءايت لقوم يعلمونIn the alternation of night and day, and in what God created in the heavens and the earth, there are surely signs for a people who guard themselves.
إن في ٱختلف ٱليل وٱلنهار وما خلق ٱلله في ٱلسموت وٱلأرض لءايت لقوم يتقونThose who do not hope for Our meeting, who were content with the present life and found ease in it, and those who are heedless of Our signs — their refuge will be the Fire, for what they used to earn.
إن ٱلذين لا يرجون لقآءنا ورضوا بٱلحيوة ٱلدنيا وٱطمأنوا بها وٱلذين هم عن ءايتنا غفلون أولئك مأوىهم ٱلنار بما كانوا يكسبونThose who believed and did righteous deeds, their Guardian guides them by reason of their faith.
إن ٱلذين ءامنوا وعملوا ٱلصلحت يهديهم ربهم بإيمنهمBeneath them rivers will flow, in the Gardens of bliss.
تجري من تحتهم ٱلأنهر في جنت ٱلنعيمTheir cry there will be: "Glory be to You, O God!"
دعوىهم فيها سبحنك ٱللهمAnd their greeting there will be: "Peace".
وتحيتهم فيها سلمAnd the end of their cry will be: "Praise be to God, Guardian of all beings."
وءاخر دعوىهم أن ٱلحمد لله رب ٱلعلمينIf God hastened evil for people as they hasten [the arrival of] good, their term would already have been settled for them.
ولو يعجل ٱلله للناس ٱلشر ٱستعجالهم بٱلخير لقضي إليهم أجلهمSo We leave those who do not hope for Our meeting to wander blindly in their excess.
فنذر ٱلذين لا يرجون لقآءنا في طغينهم يعمهونAnd when hardship touches the human being, he calls upon Us lying on his side, sitting, or standing;
وإذا مس ٱلإنسن ٱلضر دعانا لجنبه أو قاعدا أو قآئماthen, when We have removed his hardship from him, he goes his way as if he had never called upon Us for a hardship that had touched him.
فلما كشفنا عنه ضره مر كأن لم يدعنآ إلى ضر مسهThus were embellished, for the excessive ones, the deeds they used to do.
كذلك زين للمسرفين ما كانوا يعملونWe annihilated the generations before you as soon as they committed injustice, even though their messengers had come to them with clear proofs;
ولقد أهلكنا ٱلقرون من قبلكم لما ظلموا وجآءتهم رسلهم بٱلبينتbut they were not disposed to believe.
وما كانوا ليؤمنواThus do We recompense the severed people.
كذلك نجزي ٱلقوم ٱلمجرمينThen We made you successors on the earth, after them, so as to see how you would act.
ثم جعلنكم خلئف في ٱلأرض من بعدهم لننظر كيف تعملونAnd when Our signs are recited to them, wholly explicit, those who do not hope for Our meeting say: "Bring a Recitation other than this one, or change it."
وإذا تتلى عليهم ءاياتنا بينت قال ٱلذين لا يرجون لقآءنا ٱئت بقرءان غير هذآ أو بدلهSay: "It is not for me to change it of my own accord;
قل ما يكون لي أن أبدله من تلقآئ نفسيI only follow what is revealed to me.
إن أتبع إلا ما يوحى إلىI fear, if I disobeyed my Guardian, the punishment of an immense day."
إني أخاف إن عصيت ربي عذاب يوم عظيمSay: "Had God willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you.
قل لو شآء ٱلله ما تلوته عليكم ولآ أدرىكم بهI dwelt among you a whole lifetime before it, after all.
فقد لبثت فيكم عمرا من قبلهWill you not then reason?"
أفلا تعقلونWho is then more unjust than one who invents a lie against God, or denies His signs?
فمن أظلم ممن ٱفترى على ٱلله كذبا أو كذب بايتهThe severed do not succeed.
إنه لا يفلح ٱلمجرمونThey obey, besides God, what neither harms nor benefits them, and they say: "These are our intercessors with God."
ويعبدون من دون ٱلله ما لا يضرهم ولا ينفعهم ويقولون هؤلآء شفعؤنا عند ٱللهSay: "Do you inform God of what He does not know in the heavens or on the earth?"
قل أتنبون ٱلله بما لا يعلم في ٱلسموت ولا في ٱلأرضGlory be to Him! He is far above what they associate with Him.
سبحنه وتعلى عما يشركونMankind was but one single community, then they diverged.
وما كان ٱلناس إلآ أمة وحدة فٱختلفواAnd had it not been for a word that preceded from your Guardian, it would already have been settled between them concerning what they differ over.
ولولا كلمة سبقت من ربك لقضي بينهم فيما فيه يختلفونAnd they say: "Why has no sign been sent down to him from his Guardian?"
ويقولون لولآ أنزل عليه ءاية من ربهSay: "What escapes the senses belongs exclusively to God.
فقل إنما ٱلغيب للهSo wait:
فٱنتظرواI am indeed, with you, among those who wait."
إني معكم من ٱلمنتظرينAnd when We let people taste a benevolence after a hardship that had touched them, there they are, plotting against Our signs.
وإذآ أذقنا ٱلناس رحمة من بعد ضرآء مستهم إذا لهم مكر في ءاياتناSay: "God is swifter in plotting."
قل ٱلله أسرع مكراOur envoys write down what you plot.
إن رسلنا يكتبون ما تمكرونIt is He who makes you travel on land and sea,
هو ٱلذي يسيركم في ٱلبر وٱلبحرuntil, when you are in the ship and it sails with them by a favorable wind, and they rejoice in it, a violent wind comes upon them, the swell comes at them from every side, and they think they are surrounded — then they call upon God, devoting the Law exclusively to Him: "If You save us from this, we will surely be among the grateful."
حتى إذا كنتم في ٱلفلك وجرين بهم بريح طيبة وفرحوا بها جآءتها ريح عاصف وجآءهم ٱلموج من كل مكان وظنوا أنهم أحيط بهم دعوا ٱلله مخلصين له ٱلدين لئن أنجيتنا من هذه لنكونن من ٱلشكرينBut as soon as He saves them, there they are, committing aggression on earth, without right.
فلمآ أنجىهم إذا هم يبغون في ٱلأرض بغير ٱلحقO mankind! your aggression falls back only upon yourselves,
يأيها ٱلناس إنما بغيكم على أنفسكمan enjoyment of the present life;
متع ٱلحيوة ٱلدنياthen to Us will be your return, and We will inform you of what you used to do.
ثم إلينا مرجعكم فننبئكم بما كنتم تعملونThe likeness of the present life is that of water which We send down from the sky, and which mingles
إنما مثل ٱلحيوة ٱلدنيا كمآء أنزلنه من ٱلسمآء فٱختلطwith the vegetation of the earth, from which men and cattle eat,
به نبات ٱلأرض مما يأكل ٱلناس وٱلأنعمuntil, when the earth has taken on its adornment and become embellished, and its people think they have mastery over it, Our command comes to it, by night or by day, and We make it a mown field, as if it had not flourished the day before.
حتى إذآ أخذت ٱلأرض زخرفها وٱزينت وظن أهلهآ أنهم قدرون عليهآ أتىهآ أمرنا ليلا أو نهارا فجعلنها حصيدا كأن لم تغن بٱلأمسThus do We detail the signs for a people who reflect.
كذلك نفصل ٱلءايت لقوم يتفكرونGod calls to the Abode of Peace, and He guides whom He wills to a straight path.
وٱلله يدعوا إلى دار ٱلسلم ويهدي من يشآء إلى صرط مستقيمTo those who do good belongs the best reward, and even more;
للذين أحسنوا ٱلحسنى وزيادةneither dark dust nor humiliation will veil their faces.
ولا يرهق وجوههم قتر ولا ذلةThose are the companions of the Garden,
أولئك أصحب ٱلجنةthey will abide therein eternally.
هم فيها خلدونAs for those who committed evil deeds, the recompense of an evil deed will be its equivalent, and humiliation will cover them; they will have no preserver against God — as if their faces were covered with strips of dark night.
وٱلذين كسبوا ٱلسيات جزآء سيئة بمثلها وترهقهم ذلة ما لهم من ٱلله من عاصم كأنمآ أغشيت وجوههم قطعا من ٱليل مظلماThose are the companions of the Fire, they will abide therein eternally.
أولئك أصحب ٱلنار هم فيها خلدونOn the day when We gather them all together, then say to those who associated: "Stay in your place, you and your associates" — then We will separate them from one another,
ويوم نحشرهم جميعا ثم نقول للذين أشركوا مكانكم أنتم وشركآؤكم فزيلنا بينهمand their associates will say: "It was not us that you obeyed."
وقال شركآؤهم ما كنتم إيانا تعبدونGod suffices as a witness between us and you: we were indeed heedless of your obedience.
فكفى بٱلله شهيدا بيننا وبينكم إن كنا عن عبادتكم لغفلينThere, every Self will experience what it did before,
هنالك تبلوا كل نفس مآ أسلفتand they will be returned to God, their true nearest Guarantor,
وردوا إلى ٱلله مولىهم ٱلحقand what they used to invent will have strayed away from them.
وضل عنهم ما كانوا يفترونSay: "Who provides for you from the sky and the earth?
قل من يرزقكم من ٱلسمآء وٱلأرضOr who holds mastery over hearing and sight, who brings forth the living from the dead and brings forth the dead from the living, and who governs the Order?"
أمن يملك ٱلسمع وٱلأبصر ومن يخرج ٱلحى من ٱلميت ويخرج ٱلميت من ٱلحى ومن يدبر ٱلأمرThey will say: "God."
فسيقولون ٱللهThen say: "Will you not then guard yourselves?"
فقل أفلا تتقونThat is God, your Guardian, the True.
فذلكم ٱلله ربكم ٱلحقAfter the truth, what is there but error?
فماذا بعد ٱلحق إلا ٱلضللHow then can you be turned away?
فأنى تصرفونThus did the word of your Guardian prove true concerning the oversteppers: they do not believe.
كذلك حقت كلمت ربك على ٱلذين فسقوا أنهم لا يؤمنونSay: "Is there, among your associates, one who begins creation then remakes it?"
قل هل من شركآئكم من يبدؤا ٱلخلق ثم يعيدهSay: "God begins creation, then remakes it.
قل ٱلله يبدؤا ٱلخلق ثم يعيدهHow then can you be turned away from the truth?"
فأنى تؤفكونSay: "Is there, among your associates, one who guides to the truth?"
قل هل من شركآئكم من يهدي إلى ٱلحقSay: "God guides to the truth.
قل ٱلله يهدي للحقIs one who guides to the truth more worthy of being followed, or one who does not guide himself unless he is guided?
أفمن يهدي إلى ٱلحق أحق أن يتبع أمن لا يهدي إلآ أن يهدىWhat is with you then? How do you judge?"
فما لكم كيف تحكمونMost of them follow nothing but conjecture;
وما يتبع أكثرهم إلا ظناand conjecture does not avail at all against the truth.
إن ٱلظن لا يغني من ٱلحق شياGod is indeed All-Knowing of what they do.
إن ٱلله عليم بما يفعلونThis Recitation was not something that could have been invented besides God;
وما كان هذا ٱلقرءان أن يفترى من دون ٱللهrather, it confirms what precedes it, and it details the Code — with no doubt possible — from the Guardian of all beings.
ولكن تصديق ٱلذي بين يديه وتفصيل ٱلكتب لا ريب فيه من رب ٱلعلمينWill they say: "He invented it"?
أم يقولون ٱفترىهSay: "Bring then a surah like it,
قل فأتوا بسورة مثلهand call upon whomever you can, besides God, if you are truthful."
وٱدعوا من ٱستطعتم من دون ٱلله إن كنتم صدقينIn reality, they denied what they did not encompass in knowledge, and whose interpretation had not yet come to them.
بل كذبوا بما لم يحيطوا بعلمه ولما يأتهم تأويلهThus did those before them deny.
كذلك كذب ٱلذين من قبلهمSo look how the end of the wrongdoers was.
فٱنظر كيف كان عقبة ٱلظلمينAmong them are some who believe in it, and some who do not believe in it;
ومنهم من يؤمن به ومنهم من لا يؤمن بهyour Guardian knows best the corrupters.
وربك أعلم بٱلمفسدينAnd if they deny you, say: "To me my deed, and to you your deed; you are clear of what I do, and I am clear of what you do."
وإن كذبوك فقل لي عملي ولكم عملكم أنتم بريون ممآ أعمل وأنا بريء مما تعملونAmong them are some who listen to you —
ومنهم من يستمعون إليكbut will you make the deaf hear, even though they do not reason?
أفأنت تسمع ٱلصم ولو كانوا لا يعقلونAnd among them are some who look at you —
ومنهم من ينظر إليكbut will you guide the blind, even though they do not see?
أفأنت تهدي ٱلعمي ولو كانوا لا يبصرونGod does no wrong to people, in anything;
إن ٱلله لا يظلم ٱلناس شياit is people who wrong themselves.
ولكن ٱلناس أنفسهم يظلمونOn the day He gathers them, as if they had remained but an hour of the day, they will recognize one another.
ويوم يحشرهم كأن لم يلبثوا إلا ساعة من ٱلنهار يتعارفون بينهمThey are indeed losers, those who denied the meeting with God, and they did not let themselves be guided.
قد خسر ٱلذين كذبوا بلقآء ٱلله وما كانوا مهتدينWhether We show you part of what We promise them, or We take you back to Us, to Us will be their return;
وإما نرينك بعض ٱلذي نعدهم أو نتوفينك فإلينا مرجعهمGod is thereafter a witness over what they do.
ثم ٱلله شهيد على ما يفعلونTo every community, a messenger.
ولكل أمة رسولAnd when their messenger came, it was settled between them with equity, and they were not wronged.
فإذا جآء رسولهم قضي بينهم بٱلقسط وهم لا يظلمونAnd they say: "When will this promise be, if you are truthful?"
ويقولون متى هذا ٱلوعد إن كنتم صدقينSay: "I hold, for myself, neither harm nor benefit, except what God wills.
قل لآ أملك لنفسي ضرا ولا نفعا إلا ما شآء ٱللهTo every community a term.
لكل أمة أجلWhen their term arrives, they cannot delay it by an hour,
إذا جآء أجلهم فلا يستخرون ساعةnor advance it."
ولا يستقدمونSay: "What do you think? If His punishment came upon you by night or by day, what is it the severed would want to hasten?
قل أرءيتم إن أتىكم عذابه بيتا أو نهارا ماذا يستعجل منه ٱلمجرمونIs it then only once it has happened that you will believe in it?
أثم إذا ما وقع ءامنتم بهNow?! when you used to seek to hasten it!
ءآلن وقد كنتم به تستعجلونThen it will be said to those who did wrong: "Taste the punishment of eternity;
ثم قيل للذين ظلموا ذوقوا عذاب ٱلخلدare you recompensed except for what you used to earn?"
هل تجزون إلا بما كنتم تكسبونThey ask you: "Is it truly so?"
ويستنبونك أحق هوSay: "Yes, by my Guardian! It is surely so, and you will not be able to render [Him] powerless."
قل إي وربي إنه لحق ومآ أنتم بمعجزينAnd if every unjust Self possessed all that is on earth, it would ransom itself with it.
ولو أن لكل نفس ظلمت ما في ٱلأرض لٱفتدت بهAnd they will conceal their regret upon seeing the punishment, and it will be settled between them with equity, and they will not be wronged.
وأسروا ٱلندامة لما رأوا ٱلعذاب وقضي بينهم بٱلقسط وهم لا يظلمونIs it not so! Indeed, to God belongs what is in the heavens and on the earth.
ألآ إن لله ما في ٱلسموت وٱلأرضIs it not so: God's promise is true;
ألآ إن وعد ٱلله حقbut most of them do not know.
ولكن أكثرهم لا يعلمونIt is He who gives life and causes death,
هو يحي ويميتand to Him you will be returned.
وإليه ترجعونO mankind! an admonition has come to you from your Guardian, a healing for what is in the chests, a guidance and a benevolence for the believers.
يأيها ٱلناس قد جآءتكم موعظة من ربكم وشفآء لما في ٱلصدور وهدى ورحمة للمؤمنينSay: "It is by God's favor and by His benevolence — let them rejoice in that!
قل بفضل ٱلله وبرحمته فبذلك فليفرحواThat is better than what they amass."
هو خير مما يجمعونSay: "What do you think? Of what God sent down for you as provision, you made some of it forbidden and some lawful —
قل أرءيتم مآ أنزل ٱلله لكم من رزق فجعلتم منه حراما وحللاsay: Is it God who permitted you, or is it against God that you invent?"
قل ءآلله أذن لكم أم على ٱلله تفترونWhat will they think, on the Day of Appearance, those who invent the lie against God?
وما ظن ٱلذين يفترون على ٱلله ٱلكذب يوم ٱلقيمةGod surely holds a favor toward mankind,
إن ٱلله لذو فضل على ٱلناسbut most of them are not grateful.
ولكن أكثرهم لا يشكرونYou are not in any situation, nor do you recite any Recitation from it, nor do you do any deed, without Our being witnesses over you when you engage in it.
وما تكون في شأن وما تتلوا منه من قرءان ولا تعملون من عمل إلا كنا عليكم شهودا إذ تفيضون فيهNothing escapes your Guardian, even the weight of a grain on earth or in the sky,
وما يعزب عن ربك من مثقال ذرة في ٱلأرض ولا في ٱلسمآءnothing smaller or greater that is not in a clear register.
ولآ أصغر من ذلك ولآ أكبر إلا في كتب مبينIs it not so: the allies of God have nothing to fear, and they will not grieve,
ألآ إن أوليآء ٱلله لا خوف عليهم ولا هم يحزنونthose who believed and used to guard themselves.
ٱلذين ءامنوا وكانوا يتقونTo them the good news, in the present life and in the last life.
لهم ٱلبشرى في ٱلحيوة ٱلدنيا وفي ٱلءاخرةNo change to God's words.
لا تبديل لكلمت ٱللهThat is the immense triumph.
ذلك هو ٱلفوز ٱلعظيمLet not their speech grieve you:
ولا يحزنك قولهمpower belongs to God in its entirety.
إن ٱلعزة لله جميعاHe is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
هو ٱلسميع ٱلعليمIs it not so: to God belongs whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth;
ألآ إن لله من في ٱلسموت ومن في ٱلأرضwhat then do those who invoke, besides God, associates, follow?
وما يتبع ٱلذين يدعون من دون ٱلله شركآءThey follow nothing but conjecture,
إن يتبعون إلا ٱلظنand they do nothing but engage in baseless guesswork.
وإن هم إلا يخرصونIt is He who made for you the night so that you might rest in it, and the day for seeing clearly.
هو ٱلذي جعل لكم ٱليل لتسكنوا فيه وٱلنهار مبصراThere are surely in that signs for a people who listen.
إن في ذلك لءايت لقوم يسمعونThey say: "God has taken a child."
قالوا ٱتخذ ٱلله ولداGlory be to Him!
سبحنهHe is self-sufficient.
هو ٱلغنيTo Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth.
له ما في ٱلسموت وما في ٱلأرضYou have no authority for this.
إن عندكم من سلطن بهذآWill you say about God what you do not know?
أتقولون على ٱلله ما لا تعلمونSay: "Those who invent the lie against God do not succeed."
قل إن ٱلذين يفترون على ٱلله ٱلكذب لا يفلحونAn enjoyment in the present life,
متع في ٱلدنياthen to Us will be their return; then We will make them taste the severe punishment, for having disowned.
ثم إلينا مرجعهم ثم نذيقهم ٱلعذاب ٱلشديد بما كانوا يكفرونRecite to them the information concerning Nuh, when he said to his people: "O my people! if my standing among you and my reminder of God's signs weigh upon you, it is upon God that I rely.
وٱتل عليهم نبأ نوح إذ قال لقومه يقوم إن كان كبر عليكم مقامي وتذكيري بايت ٱلله فعلى ٱلله توكلتSo gather your resolve and your associates,
فأجمعوا أمركم وشركآءكمlet your resolve no longer be, for you, a confused matter,
ثم لا يكن أمركم عليكم غمةthen carry it out against me, and grant me no respite."
ثم ٱقضوا إلى ولا تنظرونIf you turn away, I have not asked you for any reward;
فإن توليتم فما سألتكم من أجرmy reward is incumbent only upon God,
إن أجري إلا على ٱللهand I have been commanded to be among those true to God alone.
وأمرت أن أكون من ٱلمسلمينBut they denied him; We saved him, and those with him in the ship, and We made them successors,
فكذبوه فنجينه ومن معه في ٱلفلك وجعلنهم خلئفand We drowned those who had denied Our signs.
وأغرقنا ٱلذين كذبوا بايتناSo look how the end of those who had been warned turned out.
فٱنظر كيف كان عقبة ٱلمنذرينThen, after him, We sent messengers to their respective peoples; they brought them clear proofs, but they were not disposed to believe what they had first denied.
ثم بعثنا من بعده رسلا إلى قومهم فجآءوهم بٱلبينت فما كانوا ليؤمنوا بما كذبوا به من قبلThus do We seal the cores of those who cross the limits.
كذلك نطبع على قلوب ٱلمعتدينThen, after them, We sent Moussa and Harun to Fir'awn and his court, with Our signs; but they were arrogant and were a severed people.
ثم بعثنا من بعدهم موسى وهرون إلى فرعون وملإيه بايتنا فٱستكبروا وكانوا قوما مجرمينWhen the truth came to them from Us, they said: "This is surely a manifest illusion."
فلما جآءهم ٱلحق من عندنا قالوا إن هذا لسحر مبينMoussa said: "Do you say this of the truth, once it has come to you?
قال موسى أتقولون للحق لما جآءكمIs this illusion?
أسحر هذاBut illusion-makers do not succeed."
ولا يفلح ٱلسحرونThey said: "Have you come to us to turn us away from what we found our ancestors upon, and so that greatness, on earth, would belong to you both? We will not believe in you two."
قالوا أجئتنا لتلفتنا عما وجدنا عليه ءابآءنا وتكون لكما ٱلكبريآء في ٱلأرض وما نحن لكما بمؤمنينFir'awn said: "Bring me every knowledgeable illusion-maker."
وقال فرعون ٱئتوني بكل سحر عليمWhen the illusion-makers came, Moussa said to them: "Throw what you have to throw."
فلما جآء ٱلسحرة قال لهم موسى ألقوا مآ أنتم ملقونWhen they had thrown, Moussa said: "What you have brought is illusion;
فلمآ ألقوا قال موسى ما جئتم به ٱلسحرGod will indeed nullify it.
إن ٱلله سيبطلهGod does not make the work of corrupters prosper."
إن ٱلله لا يصلح عمل ٱلمفسدينAnd God establishes the truth by His words, however much the severed detest it.
ويحق ٱلله ٱلحق بكلمته ولو كره ٱلمجرمونNone gave credit to Moussa except a lineage of his people, in fear of Fir'awn and their court, lest he try them.
فمآ ءامن لموسى إلا ذرية من قومه على خوف من فرعون وملإيهم أن يفتنهمFir'awn was surely highly placed on earth,
وإن فرعون لعال في ٱلأرضand he was surely among the excessive ones.
وإنه لمن ٱلمسرفينMoussa said: "O my people, if you believe in God, rely upon Him, if you are true to God alone."
وقال موسى يقوم إن كنتم ءامنتم بٱلله فعليه توكلوا إن كنتم مسلمينThey said: "It is upon God that we rely.
فقالوا على ٱلله توكلناOur Guardian, do not make us a trial for the wrongdoing people,
ربنا لا تجعلنا فتنة للقوم ٱلظلمينand save us, by Your benevolence, from the people who disown."
ونجنا برحمتك من ٱلقوم ٱلكفرينWe revealed to Moussa and his brother: "Establish houses for your people in Egypt; make your houses an anchor point; and maintain the Contact."
وأوحينآ إلى موسى وأخيه أن تبوءا لقومكما بمصر بيوتا وٱجعلوا بيوتكم قبلة وأقيموا ٱلصلوةAnd give good news to the believers.
وبشر ٱلمؤمنينMoussa said: "Our Guardian, You have given Fir'awn and his court adornment and goods in the present life,
وقال موسى ربنآ إنك ءاتيت فرعون وملأه زينة وأمولا في ٱلحيوة ٱلدنياour Guardian, so that they may lead astray from Your path.
ربنا ليضلوا عن سبيلكOur Guardian, obliterate their goods and harden their cores, so that they do not believe until they see the painful punishment."
ربنا ٱطمس على أمولهم وٱشدد على قلوبهم فلا يؤمنوا حتى يروا ٱلعذاب ٱلأليمHe said: "Your invocation is answered; so stand you both straight,
قال قد أجيبت دعوتكما فٱستقيماand do not follow the path of those who do not know."
ولا تتبعآن سبيل ٱلذين لا يعلمونWe made the Sons of Israel cross the sea; Fir'awn and his armies pursued them in aggression and hostility,
وجوزنا ببني إسرءيل ٱلبحر فأتبعهم فرعون وجنوده بغيا وعدواuntil, when the drowning overtook him, he said: "I believe that there is no deity but He in whom the Sons of Israel have believed, and I am among those true to God alone."
حتى إذآ أدركه ٱلغرق قال ءامنت أنه لآ إله إلا ٱلذي ءامنت به بنوا إسرءيل وأنا من ٱلمسلمين"Now?! when you disobeyed before, and were among the corrupters!
ءآلن وقد عصيت قبل وكنت من ٱلمفسدينToday, then, We save you as to your body, so that you may be a sign for those who come after you."
فٱليوم ننجيك ببدنك لتكون لمن خلفك ءايةBut many people are surely heedless of Our signs.
وإن كثيرا من ٱلناس عن ءايتنا لغفلونWe settled the Sons of Israel in a true dwelling, and We provided them with good things as sustenance; they did not diverge until the knowledge had come to them.
ولقد بوأنا بني إسرءيل مبوأ صدق ورزقنهم من ٱلطيبت فما ٱختلفوا حتى جآءهم ٱلعلمYour Guardian will indeed settle between them, on the Day of Appearance, concerning what they used to differ over.
إن ربك يقضي بينهم يوم ٱلقيمة فيما كانوا فيه يختلفونIf you are in doubt about what We have sent down to you, ask those who read the Scripture before you.
فإن كنت في شك ممآ أنزلنآ إليك فسل ٱلذين يقرءون ٱلكتب من قبلكThe truth has certainly come to you from your Guardian;
لقد جآءك ٱلحق من ربكso never be among those who doubt.
فلا تكونن من ٱلممترينAnd do not be among those who denied the signs of God, you would then be among the losers.
ولا تكونن من ٱلذين كذبوا بايت ٱلله فتكون من ٱلخسرينThose on whom the word of your Guardian has proven true will not believe, even if every sign came to them, until they see the painful punishment.
إن ٱلذين حقت عليهم كلمت ربك لا يؤمنون ولو جآءتهم كل ءاية حتى يروا ٱلعذاب ٱلأليمWas there ever a city that believed and whose faith benefited it — except the people of Younes! When they believed, We removed from them the punishment of disgrace in the present life, and We granted them enjoyment until a term.
فلولا كانت قرية ءامنت فنفعهآ إيمنهآ إلا قوم يونس لمآ ءامنوا كشفنا عنهم عذاب ٱلخزي في ٱلحيوة ٱلدنيا ومتعنهم إلى حينHad your Guardian willed, all those on earth would have believed, all of them together.
ولو شآء ربك لءامن من في ٱلأرض كلهم جميعاIs it you who would compel people to become believers?
أفأنت تكره ٱلناس حتى يكونوا مؤمنينIt is not for any Self to believe except with God's permission,
وما كان لنفس أن تؤمن إلا بإذن ٱللهand He places defilement upon those who do not reason.
ويجعل ٱلرجس على ٱلذين لا يعقلونSay: "Look at what is in the heavens and the earth" — but of what avail are signs and warnings to a people who do not believe?
قل ٱنظروا ماذا في ٱلسموت وٱلأرض وما تغني ٱلءايت وٱلنذر عن قوم لا يؤمنونWhat then do they await, but the like of the days of those who came before them?
فهل ينتظرون إلا مثل أيام ٱلذين خلوا من قبلهمSay: "Wait then, I am, with you, among those who wait."
قل فٱنتظروا إني معكم من ٱلمنتظرينThen We save Our messengers, and those who believed — thus;
ثم ننجي رسلنا وٱلذين ءامنوا كذلكit is a duty upon Us to save the believers.
حقا علينا ننج ٱلمؤمنينSay: "O mankind! if you are in doubt about my Law, I do not obey those you obey besides God,
قل يأيها ٱلناس إن كنتم في شك من ديني فلآ أعبد ٱلذين تعبدون من دون ٱللهbut I obey God, who will recall you to Him.
ولكن أعبد ٱلله ٱلذي يتوفىكمAnd I have been commanded to be among the believers,
وأمرت أن أكون من ٱلمؤمنينand: "Set your direction toward the Law, wholly turned toward God,
وأن أقم وجهك للدين حنيفاand never be among those who associate."
ولا تكونن من ٱلمشركينDo not invoke, besides God, what neither benefits nor harms you;
ولا تدع من دون ٱلله ما لا ينفعك ولا يضركif you did so, you would then be among the wrongdoers.
فإن فعلت فإنك إذا من ٱلظلمينIf God touches you with harm, none can remove it but Him;
وإن يمسسك ٱلله بضر فلا كاشف له إلا هوand if He wills good for you, none can repel His favor.
وإن يردك بخير فلا رآد لفضلهHe grants it to whom He wills among His obedient ones.
يصيب به من يشآء من عبادهHe is the Most-Forgiving, the Benevolent.
وهو ٱلغفور ٱلرحيمSay: "O mankind! the truth has come to you from your Guardian;
قل يأيها ٱلناس قد جآءكم ٱلحق من ربكمwhoever is guided is guided only for himself,
فمن ٱهتدى فإنما يهتدي لنفسهand whoever strays only strays to his own detriment.
ومن ضل فإنما يضل عليهاAnd I am not, for you, a trustee."
ومآ أنا عليكم بوكيلFollow what is revealed to you, and be patient until God judges.
وٱتبع ما يوحى إليك وٱصبر حتى يحكم ٱللهHe is the best of judges.
وهو خير ٱلحكمين
