Sourate As-Saff (61) with hamza shown

In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Benevolent. Whatever is in the heavens and on the earth glorifies God,i 1

بسم ٱلله ٱلرحمن ٱلرحيم سبح لله ما في ٱلسموت وما في ٱلأرض

and He is the All-Powerful, the Wise.i 1

وهو ٱلعزيز ٱلحكيم

O you who believe! Why do you say what you do not do? 2

يأيها ٱلذين ءامنوا لم تقولون ما لا تفعلون

It is greatly abhorrent to God that you say what you do not do. 3

كبر مقتا عند ٱلله أن تقولوا ما لا تفعلون

Indeed, God loves those who fight in His way in ranks, as if they were a compact structure. 4

إن ٱلله يحب ٱلذين يقتلون في سبيله صفا كأنهم بنين مرصوص

And when Moussa said to his people: O my people, why do you harm me, seeing as you will know that I am the messenger of God sent to you?i 5

وإذ قال موسى لقومه يقوم لم تؤذونني وقد تعلمون أني رسول ٱلله إليكم

So when they deviated, God caused their cores to deviate. 5

فلما زاغوا أزاغ ٱلله قلوبهم

And God does not guide the defiantly disobedient people. 5

وٱلله لا يهدي ٱلقوم ٱلفسقين

And when Issa, son of Maryam, said: O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of God to you, confirming what came before me of the Tawrah, and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose defining trait is Ahmad.i 6

وإذ قال عيسى ٱبن مريم يبني إسرءيل إني رسول ٱلله إليكم مصدقا لما بين يدى من ٱلتورىة ومبشرا برسول يأتي من بعدي ٱسمه أحمد

But when he brought them clear proofs, they said: This is manifest illusion. 6

فلما جآءهم بٱلبينت قالوا هذا سحر مبين

And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about God while he is being called to true adherence to God? 7

ومن أظلم ممن ٱفترى على ٱلله ٱلكذب وهو يدعى إلى ٱلإسلم

And God does not guide the unjust people. 7

وٱلله لا يهدي ٱلقوم ٱلظلمين

They want to extinguish the light of God with their mouths, but God perfects His light, even if those who deny dislike it. 8

يريدون ليطفوا نور ٱلله بأفوههم وٱلله متم نوره ولو كره ٱلكفرون

It is He who sent His messenger with guidance and the Law of truth, to make it prevail over every law, even if the polytheists dislike it. 9

هو ٱلذي أرسل رسوله بٱلهدى ودين ٱلحق ليظهره على ٱلدين كله ولو كره ٱلمشركون

O you who believe! Shall I guide you to a trade that will save you from a painful punishment? You believe in God and His messenger, and strive in the way of God with your wealth and your persons — that is better for you, if you but knew. He will forgive you your wrongs and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow, and pleasant dwellings in gardens of Eden. 12

يأيها ٱلذين ءامنوا هل أدلكم على تجرة تنجيكم من عذاب أليم تؤمنون بٱلله ورسوله وتجهدون في سبيل ٱلله بأمولكم وأنفسكم ذلكم خير لكم إن كنتم تعلمون يغفر لكم ذنوبكم ويدخلكم جنت تجري من تحتها ٱلأنهر ومسكن طيبة في جنت عدن

That is the great success. 12

ذلك ٱلفوز ٱلعظيم

And another thing you love: help from God and a near victory. 13

وأخرى تحبونها نصر من ٱلله وفتح قريب

So give good tidings to the believers. 13

وبشر ٱلمؤمنين

O you who believe! Be allies of God, just as Issa, son of Maryam, said to the disciples: Who are my allies to God?i 14

يأيها ٱلذين ءامنوا كونوا أنصار ٱلله كما قال عيسى ٱبن مريم للحوارين من أنصاري إلى ٱلله

The disciples said: We are the allies of God. 14

قال ٱلحواريون نحن أنصار ٱلله

So a group of the Children of Israel believed, and a group denied. 14

فامنت طآئفة من بني إسرءيل وكفرت طآئفة

So We supported those who believed against their enemy, and they became dominant. 14

فأيدنا ٱلذين ءامنوا على عدوهم فأصبحوا ظهرين
