Sourate Al-Jumu'a (62) with hamza shown

In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Benevolent. Whatever is in the heavens and on the earth glorifies God, the Sovereign, the Most Holy, the All-Powerful, the Wise.i 1

بسم ٱلله ٱلرحمن ٱلرحيم يسبح لله ما في ٱلسموت وما في ٱلأرض ٱلملك ٱلقدوس ٱلعزيز ٱلحكيم

It is He who raised among the people without Scripture a messenger from among themselves, reciting to them His verses, purifying them, and teaching them the Scripture and wisdom, although they were before in manifest error — and others among them who have not yet joined them.i 3

هو ٱلذي بعث في ٱلأمين رسولا منهم يتلوا عليهم ءايته ويزكيهم ويعلمهم ٱلكتب وٱلحكمة وإن كانوا من قبل لفي ضلل مبين وءاخرين منهم لما يلحقوا بهم

And He is the All-Powerful, the Wise.i 3

وهو ٱلعزيز ٱلحكيم

That is the bounty of God, which He gives to whom He wills. 4

ذلك فضل ٱلله يؤتيه من يشآء

And God is the Possessor of great bounty. 4

وٱلله ذو ٱلفضل ٱلعظيم

The example of those who were entrusted with the Tawrah, and then did not carry it, is like the example of a donkey carrying books. 5

مثل ٱلذين حملوا ٱلتورىة ثم لم يحملوها كمثل ٱلحمار يحمل أسفارا

How evil is the example of a people who deny the signs of God! 5

بئس مثل ٱلقوم ٱلذين كذبوا بايت ٱلله

And God does not guide the unjust people. 5

وٱلله لا يهدي ٱلقوم ٱلظلمين

Say: O you, the Reoriented! if you claim that you are the allies of God, excluding other people, then wish for death, if you are truthful. 6

قل يأيها ٱلذين هادوا إن زعمتم أنكم أوليآء لله من دون ٱلناس فتمنوا ٱلموت إن كنتم صدقين

But they will never wish for it, because of what their hands have sent forth. 7

ولا يتمنونه أبدا بما قدمت أيديهم

And God knows well the wrongdoers. 7

وٱلله عليم بٱلظلمين

Say: Indeed, the death from which you flee will surely meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of what escapes the senses and of what is manifest, and He will inform you of what you used to do.i 8

قل إن ٱلموت ٱلذي تفرون منه فإنه ملقيكم ثم تردون إلى علم ٱلغيب وٱلشهدة فينبئكم بما كنتم تعملون

O you who believe! When the call is made for the Contact, on this day of gathering, hasten to the remembrance of God and leave off trade. 9

يأيها ٱلذين ءامنوا إذا نودي للصلوة من يوم ٱلجمعة فٱسعوا إلى ذكر ٱلله وذروا ٱلبيع

That is better for you, if you but knew. 9

ذلكم خير لكم إن كنتم تعلمون

Then when the Contact is concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of God, and remember God often, that you may succeed. 10

فإذا قضيت ٱلصلوة فٱنتشروا في ٱلأرض وٱبتغوا من فضل ٱلله وٱذكروا ٱلله كثيرا لعلكم تفلحون

But when they saw a trade or a diversion, they rushed to it and left you standing. 11

وإذا رأوا تجرة أو لهوا ٱنفضوا إليها وتركوك قآئما

Say: What is with God is better than diversion and than trade. 11

قل ما عند ٱلله خير من ٱللهو ومن ٱلتجرة

And God is the best of providers. 11

وٱلله خير ٱلرزقين
