Sourate At-Taghabun (64) with hamza shown

In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Benevolent. Whatever is in the heavens and on the earth glorifies God.i 1

بسم ٱلله ٱلرحمن ٱلرحيم يسبح لله ما في ٱلسموت وما في ٱلأرض

To Him belongs the dominion, and to Him belongs the praise, 1

له ٱلملك وله ٱلحمد

and He is Powerful over all things. 1

وهو على كل شىء قدير

It is He who created you, and among you is one who denies, and among you is a believer. 2

هو ٱلذي خلقكم فمنكم كافر ومنكم مؤمن

And God is Perfectly Seeing of what you do. 2

وٱلله بما تعملون بصير

He created the heavens and the earth in truth, and formed you, and made your forms excellent, 3

خلق ٱلسموت وٱلأرض بٱلحق وصوركم فأحسن صوركم

and to Him is the final return. 3

وإليه ٱلمصير

He knows what is in the heavens and the earth, and He knows what you conceal and what you reveal. 4

يعلم ما في ٱلسموت وٱلأرض ويعلم ما تسرون وما تعلنون

And God is Knowing of what is within the breasts. 4

وٱلله عليم بذات ٱلصدور

Has the news not come to you of those who denied before, and tasted the evil consequence of their affair, and for them is a painful punishment? 5

ألم يأتكم نبؤا ٱلذين كفروا من قبل فذاقوا وبال أمرهم ولهم عذاب أليم

That is because their messengers used to come to them with clear proofs, but they said: Shall mere humans guide us? 6

ذلك بأنه كانت تأتيهم رسلهم بٱلبينت فقالوا أبشر يهدوننا

So they denied and turned away, but God is Self-Sufficient, 6

فكفروا وتولوا وٱستغنى ٱلله

and God is Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy. 6

وٱلله غني حميد

Those who deny claim that they will never be resurrected. 7

زعم ٱلذين كفروا أن لن يبعثوا

Say: Yes, by my Guardian, you will surely be resurrected; then you will surely be informed of what you did. 7

قل بلى وربي لتبعثن ثم لتنبؤن بما عملتم

And that is easy for God. 7

وذلك على ٱلله يسير

So believe in God and His messenger, and the light which We have sent down. 8

فامنوا بٱلله ورسوله وٱلنور ٱلذي أنزلنا

And God is Well Acquainted with what you do. 8

وٱلله بما تعملون خبير

The Day He will gather you for the Day of Gathering — that is the Day of Mutual Loss. 9

يوم يجمعكم ليوم ٱلجمع ذلك يوم ٱلتغابن

And whoever believes in God and does righteousness, He will remove from him his misdeeds and admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever. 9

ومن يؤمن بٱلله ويعمل صلحا يكفر عنه سياته ويدخله جنت تجري من تحتها ٱلأنهر خلدين فيهآ أبدا

That is the great success. 9

ذلك ٱلفوز ٱلعظيم

But those who denied and denied Our signs — those are the companions of the Fire, abiding therein forever, 10

وٱلذين كفروا وكذبوا بايتنآ أولئك أصحب ٱلنار خلدين فيها

and what an evil destination! 10

وبئس ٱلمصير

No calamity strikes except by the permission of God. 11

مآ أصاب من مصيبة إلا بإذن ٱلله

And whoever believes in God — He guides his core, 11

ومن يؤمن بٱلله يهد قلبه

and God is Knowing of all things. 11

وٱلله بكل شىء عليم

And obey God, and obey the messenger. 12

وأطيعوا ٱلله وأطيعوا ٱلرسول

But if you turn away, then upon Our messenger is only the clear conveyance. 12

فإن توليتم فإنما على رسولنا ٱلبلغ ٱلمبين

God — there is no deity except Him. 13

ٱلله لآ إله إلا هو

And upon God let the believers rely. 13

وعلى ٱلله فليتوكل ٱلمؤمنون

O you who believe! Indeed, among your spouses and your children is an enemy to you, so beware of them. 14

يأيها ٱلذين ءامنوا إن من أزوجكم وأولدكم عدوا لكم فٱحذروهم

But if you pardon, overlook, and forgive — then indeed God is Forgiving, benevolent. 14

وإن تعفوا وتصفحوا وتغفروا فإن ٱلله غفور رحيم

Your wealth and your children are but a trial, 15

إنمآ أمولكم وأولدكم فتنة

and with God is a great reward. 15

وٱلله عنده أجر عظيم

So guard yourselves before God as much as you are able, and listen, and obey, and spend — it will be good for your own Selves.i 16

فٱتقوا ٱلله ما ٱستطعتم وٱسمعوا وأطيعوا وأنفقوا خيرا لأنفسكم

And whoever is protected from the greed of his own Self — those are the successful. 16

ومن يوق شح نفسه فأولئك هم ٱلمفلحون

If you lend God a good loan, He will multiply it for you and forgive you, 17

إن تقرضوا ٱلله قرضا حسنا يضعفه لكم ويغفر لكم

and God is Appreciative, Thoughtful.i 17

وٱلله شكور حليم

He is the Knower of what escapes the senses and of what is manifest,i 18

علم ٱلغيب وٱلشهدة

the All-Powerful, the Wise.i 18
