Sourate Al-Mursalat (77) with hamza shown

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. By those sent forth in succession, and the storm winds blowing violently, and those spreading rain far and wide, and those separating truth from falsehood with distinction, and those delivering a reminder, as justification or as warning: indeed, what you are promised will surely occur.i 7

بسم ٱلله ٱلرحمن ٱلرحيم وٱلمرسلت عرفا فٱلعصفت عصفا وٱلنشرت نشرا فٱلفرقت فرقا فٱلملقيت ذكرا عذرا أو نذرا إنما توعدون لوقع

So when the stars are obliterated, and when the sky is split open, and when the mountains are blasted away, and when the messengers' time is set — 13

فإذا ٱلنجوم طمست وإذا ٱلسمآء فرجت وإذا ٱلجبال نسفت وإذا ٱلرسل أقتت لأى يوم أجلت ليوم ٱلفصل

and what can make you know what the Day of Decision is? 14

ومآ أدرىك ما يوم ٱلفصل

Woe, that Day, to the deniers! 15

ويل يومئذ للمكذبين

Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16

ألم نهلك ٱلأولين

Then We will make the later ones follow them. 17

ثم نتبعهم ٱلءاخرين

Thus do We deal with the severed. 18

كذلك نفعل بٱلمجرمين

Woe, that Day, to the deniers! 19

ويل يومئذ للمكذبين

Did We not create you from a fluid, held in contempt? Then We placed it in a firm lodging, for a known term; We determined — 23

ألم نخلقكم من مآء مهين فجعلنه في قرار مكين إلى قدر معلوم فقدرنا

and excellent are We at determining! 23

فنعم ٱلقدرون

Woe, that Day, to the deniers! 24

ويل يومئذ للمكذبين

Have We not made the earth a gathering place, for the living and the dead? And placed therein lofty, firm mountains, and given you fresh water to drink? 27

ألم نجعل ٱلأرض كفاتا أحيآء وأموتا وجعلنا فيها روسي شمخت وأسقينكم مآء فراتا

Woe, that Day, to the deniers! 28

ويل يومئذ للمكذبين

Depart to that which you used to deny! Depart to a shadow of three columns, neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31

ٱنطلقوا إلى ما كنتم به تكذبون ٱنطلقوا إلى ظل ذي ثلث شعب لا ظليل ولا يغني من ٱللهب

It throws up sparks as huge as towers, as though they were tawny camels. 33

إنها ترمي بشرر كٱلقصر كأنه جملت صفر

Woe, that Day, to the deniers! 34

ويل يومئذ للمكذبين

This is the Day they will not speak, nor will they be permitted to make excuses. 36

هذا يوم لا ينطقون ولا يؤذن لهم فيعتذرون

Woe, that Day, to the deniers! 37

ويل يومئذ للمكذبين

This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and the former peoples. So if you have a scheme, then scheme against Me! 39

هذا يوم ٱلفصل جمعنكم وٱلأولين فإن كان لكم كيد فكيدون

Woe, that Day, to the deniers! 40

ويل يومئذ للمكذبين

Indeed, those who guarded themselves will be amid shades and springs, and fruits of whatever they desire:i 42

إن ٱلمتقين في ظلل وعيون وفوكه مما يشتهون

"Eat and drink 43

كلوا وٱشربوا

in contentment for what you used to do." 43

هنيا بما كنتم تعملون

Indeed, thus do We reward the doers of good. 44

إنا كذلك نجزي ٱلمحسنين

Woe, that Day, to the deniers! 45

ويل يومئذ للمكذبين

"Eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are severed." 46

كلوا وتمتعوا قليلا إنكم مجرمون

Woe, that Day, to the deniers! 47

ويل يومئذ للمكذبين

And when it is said to them, "Bow down," they do not bow down. 48

وإذا قيل لهم ٱركعوا لا يركعون

Woe, that Day, to the deniers! 49

ويل يومئذ للمكذبين

Then in what statement, after this, will they believe? 50

فبأى حديث بعده يؤمنون
