Sourate Al-Layl (92) with hamza shown

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. By the night when it envelops! By the day when it shines forth! By what created the male and the female! Your efforts are indeed diverse.i 4

بسم ٱلله ٱلرحمن ٱلرحيم وٱليل إذا يغشى وٱلنهار إذا تجلى وما خلق ٱلذكر وٱلأنثى إن سعيكم لشتى

As for the one who gives, and guards himself before his Lord, and affirms the best — We will ease him toward ease.i 7

فأما من أعطى وٱتقى وصدق بٱلحسنى فسنيسره لليسرى

But as for the one who withholds, and considers himself self-sufficient, and denies the best - We will ease him toward hardship. 10

وأما من بخل وٱستغنى وكذب بٱلحسنى فسنيسره للعسرى

And his wealth will not avail him when he falls. 11

وما يغني عنه ماله إذا تردى

Indeed, upon Us is the guidance, and indeed to Us belong the last and the first. 13

إن علينا للهدى وإن لنا للءاخرة وٱلأولى

So I have warned you of a blazing fire, in which none will burn except the most wretched, who denied and turned away. 16

فأنذرتكم نارا تلظى لا يصلىهآ إلا ٱلأشقى ٱلذي كذب وتولى

And it will be kept away from the most righteous, who gives his wealth to purify himself, 18

وسيجنبها ٱلأتقى ٱلذي يؤتي ماله يتزكى

and who seeks not, in any favor he grants, except the face of his Guardian, the Most High. 20

وما لأحد عنده من نعمة تجزى إلا ٱبتغآء وجه ربه ٱلأعلى

And he will surely soon be satisfied.i 21
