Bentuk yang tercatat : عِمْرَٰنَ 3
Core meaning
Proper noun. The text names Imran through his own: the clan of Imran, chosen above all beings, his wife who vows to God the child she carries, and Maryam, daughter of Imran. The translation writes the name alone: "Imran".
Uses
عِمْرَٰن → "Imran" : the father of Maryam, named through his clan, his wife and his daughter.
Evidence from the text
Imran neither speaks nor acts: the text always names him through his own. In 3:33, the clan of Imran joins Adam, Nuh and the clan of Ibrahim, "descendants one from another". In 3:35, his wife vows to God what is in her womb, "made independent of all": it will be Maryam. In 66:12, Maryam, daughter of Imran, is the one "who protected her intimacy".
