Al-Layl

By the night when it covers all! By the day when it unveils itself! By what created the male and the female! Your efforts are surely dispersed.

وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ

As for the one who endows, and guards himself, and declares true the best — We will ease him toward ease.

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ

But as for the one who is stingy, and considers himself self-sufficient, and denies the best - We will ease him toward hardship.

وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ

And his goods will not avail him when he falls.

وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ

Surely, upon Us is the guidance, and surely to Us belong the last life and the first.

إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْءَاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ

So I have warned you of a fire that flares, in which none will burn except the most wretched, who denied and turned his back.

فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًۭا تَلَظَّىٰ لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

And the most guarded will be kept at a distance from it, he who gives his goods to purify himself,

وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ

and no one has with him any blessing to be recompensed, except to seek the direction of his Guardian, the Most High.

وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍۢ تُجْزَىٰٓ إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ

And he will surely soon be satisfied.

وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ
