In the frieze He receives the Law given to those before him, calls and stands straight; only the transmission is incumbent upon him.

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. حمٓ عٓسٓقٓ (Ḥa Mim ʿAyn Sin Qaf).
بِسۡمِ اِ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لرَّحۡمَٰنِ اِ۬لرَّحِيمِ حۭمٓ عٓسٓقٓۚ
Thus God, the All-Powerful, the Wise, reveals to you — as He did to those before you.
كَذَٰلِكَ يُوحِي إِلَيۡكَ وَإِلَى اَ۬لَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِكَ اَ۬للَّهُ اُ۬لۡعَزِيزُ اُ۬لۡحَكِيمُ
To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth,
لَهُۥ مَا فِي اِ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي اِ۬لۡأَرۡضِۖ
and He is the Most High, the Immense.
وَهۡوَ اَ۬لۡعَلِيُّ اُ۬لۡعَظِيمُ
The heavens are about to be rent asunder from above them,
۞ تَكَادُ اُ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتُ يَنفَطِرۡنَ مِن فَوۡقِهِنَّۚ
while the Agents glorify their Guardian with praise and ask forgiveness for whoever is on the earth.
وَاَلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَيَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ لِمَن فِي اِ۬لۡأَرۡضِۗ
Is it not so: God, it is indeed He who is the Most-Forgiving, the Benevolent.
أَلَا إِنَّ اَ۬للَّه هُّوَ اَ۬لۡغَفُورُ اُ۬لرَّحِيمُ
And as for those who take allies besides Him, God is a preserver over them;
وَاَلَّذِينَ اَ۪تَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِهِۦ أَوۡلِيَآءَ اَ۬للَّهُ حَفِيظٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ
and you are not for them a trustee.
وَمَا أَنتَ عَلَيۡهِم بِوَكِيلٖ
Thus have We revealed to you a flawless Recitation, that you may warn the metropolis of cities and those around it, and warn of the Day of Reunion, about which there is no doubt:
وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوۡحَيۡنَا إِلَيۡكَ قُرۡءَانًا عَرَبِيّٗا لِّتُنذِرَ أُمَّ اَ۬لۡقُر۪يٰ وَمَنۡ حَوۡلَهَا وَتُنذِرَ يَوۡمَ اَ۬لۡجَمۡعِ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيهِۚ
a fraction in the Garden,
فَرِيقٞ فِي اِ۬لۡجَنَّةِ
and a fraction in the Inferno.
وَفَرِيقٞ فِي اِ۬لسَّعِيرِ
And had God willed, He would have made them a single community,
وَلَوۡ شَآءَ اَ۬للَّهُ لَجَعَلَهُمۡ أُمَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ
but He admits whom He wills into His benevolence;
وَلَٰكِن يُدۡخِلُ مَن يَشَآءُ فِي رَحۡمَتِهِۦۚ
and the wrongdoers have neither ally nor help.
وَاَلظَّٰلِمُونَ مَا لَهُم مِّن وَلِيّٖ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ
Or have they taken allies besides Him?
أَمِ اِ۪تَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِهِۦ أَوۡلِيَآءَۖ
Yet it is God who is the Ally,
فَاَللَّه هُّوَ اَ۬لۡوَلِيُّ
and it is He who brings the dead back to life;
وَهۡوَ يُحۡيِ اِ۬لۡمَوۡتۭيٰ
and He is capable of all things.
وَهۡوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ
And whatever you differ about, its judgment rests with God.
وَمَا اَ۪خۡتَلَفۡتُمۡ فِيهِ مِن شَيۡءٖ فَحُكۡمُهُۥ إِلَى اَ۬للَّهِۚ
That is God, my Guardian;
ذَٰلِكُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ رَبِّي
to Him I entrust myself,
عَلَيۡهِ تَوَكَّلۡتُ
and to Him I have recourse.
وَإِلَيۡهِ أُنِيبُ
Originator of the heavens and the earth, He has made for you mates from among yourselves, and mates among the cattle; by this means He scatters you.
فَاطِرُ اُ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَاَلۡأَرۡضِۚ جَعَل لَّكُم مِّنۡ أَنفُسِكُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا وَمِنَ اَ۬لۡأَنۡعَٰمِ أَزۡوَٰجٗا يَذۡرَؤُكُمۡ فِيهِۚ
Nothing resembles Him,
لَيۡسَ كَمِثۡلِهِۦ شَيۡءٞۖ
and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.
وَهۡوَ اَ۬لسَّمِيعُ اُ۬لۡبَصِير
To Him belong the charges of the heavens and the earth;
لَّهُۥ مَقَالِيدُ اُ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَاَلۡأَرۡضِۖ
He extends provision to whom He wills, and measures it,
يَبۡسُطُ اُ۬لرِّزۡقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقۡدِرُۚ
for He is All-Knowing of all things.
إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٞ
He has ordained for you, in the Law, what He enjoined upon Nuh, what We have revealed to you, and what We enjoined upon Ibrahim, Moussa, and Issa: "Uphold the Law, and do not become divided within it."
۞ شَرَعَ لَكُم مِّنَ اَ۬لدِّينِ مَا وَصَّىٰ بِهِۦ نُوحٗا وَاَلَّذِي أَوۡحَيۡنَا إِلَيۡكَ وَمَا وَصَّيۡنَا بِهِۦ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسۭيٰ وَعِيسۭيٰۖ أَنۡ أَقِيمُواْ اُ۬لدِّينَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُواْ فِيهِۚ
What you call them to weighs upon the associators.
كَبُرَ عَلَى اَ۬لۡمُشۡرِكِينَ مَا تَدۡعُوهُمۡ إِلَيۡهِۚ
God elects to Himself whom He wills, and guides to Himself whoever has recourse to Him.
اِ۬للَّهُ يَجۡتَبِي إِلَيۡهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهۡدِي إِلَيۡهِ مَن يُنِيبُ
Yet they became divided only after knowledge had come to them,
وَمَا تَفَرَّقُواْ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ اُ۬لۡعِلۡمُ
out of iniquity among themselves.
بَغۡيَۢا بَيۡنَهُمۡۚ
And had it not been for a word that preceded from your Guardian until an appointed term, it would have been decided between them.
وَلَوۡلَا كَلِمَةٞ سَبَقَتۡ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗى لَّقُضِيَ بَيۡنَهُمۡۚ
And those who inherited the Scripture after them are surely, about it, in a troubling doubt.
وَإِنَّ اَ۬لَّذِينَ أُورِثُواْ اُ۬لۡكِتَٰبَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ لَفِي شَكّٖ مِّنۡهُ مُرِيبٖ
For this, then, call and stand straight as you have been commanded, and do not follow their emotions.
فَلِذَٰلِكَ فَاَدۡعُۖ وَاَسۡتَقِمۡ كَمَا أُمِرۡتَۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعۡ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۖ
And say: "I believe in whatever Scripture God has sent down, and I have been commanded to be just between you.
وَقُلۡ ءَامَنتُ بِمَا أَنزَلَ اَ۬للَّهُ مِن كِتَٰبٖۖ وَأُمِرۡتُ لِأَعۡدِلَ بَيۡنَكُمُۖ
God is our Guardian and your Guardian;
اُ۬للَّهُ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمۡۖ
to us our works, to you yours;
لَنَا أَعۡمَٰلُنَا وَلَكُمۡ أَعۡمَٰلُكُمۡۖ
there is no argument between us and you;
لَا حُجَّةَ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَكُمُۖ
God will bring us together,
اُ۬للَّهُ يَجۡمَعُ بَيۡنَنَاۖ
and to Him is the destination."
وَإِلَيۡهِ اِ۬لۡمَصِيرُ
And those who dispute about God after He has been answered, their argument is void before their Guardian, and upon them is anger,
وَاَلَّذِينَ يُحَآجُّونَ فِي اِ۬للَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا اَ۟سۡتُجِيبَ لَهُۥ حُجَّتُهُمۡ دَاحِضَةٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ وَعَلَيۡهِمۡ غَضَبٞ
and for them a severe punishment.
وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ شَدِيدٌ
It is God who has sent down the Scripture bearing truth, and the balance.
اِ۬للَّهُ اُ۬لَّذِي أَنزَلَ اَ۬لۡكِتَٰب بِّالۡحَقِّ وَاَلۡمِيزَانَۗ
And what gives you an idea?
وَمَا يُدۡرِيكَ
Perhaps the Hour is near.
لَعَلَّ اَ۬لسَّاعَةَ قَرِيبٞ
Those who do not believe in it seek to hasten it,
يَسۡتَعۡجِلُ بِهَا اَ۬لَّذِينَ لَا يُومِنُونَ بِهَاۖ
while those who have believed are filled with apprehension of it and know that it is the truth.
وَاَلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مُشۡفِقُونَ مِنۡهَا وَيَعۡلَمُونَ أَنَّهَا اَ۬لۡحَقُّۗ
Is it not so: those who wrangle about the Hour are surely in far error.
أَلَا إِنَّ اَ۬لَّذِينَ يُمَارُونَ فِي اِ۬لسَّاعَةِ لَفِي ضَلَٰلِۢ بَعِيدٍ
God is Subtle toward His obedient ones;
۞ اِ۬للَّهُ لَطِيفُۢ بِعِبَادِهِۦ
He provides for whom He wills,
يَرۡزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُۖ
and He is the Strong, the All-Powerful.
وَهۡوَ اَ۬لۡقَوِيُّ اُ۬لۡعَزِيزُ
Whoever desires the tilth of the last life, We increase his tilth for him;
مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرۡثَ اَ۬لۡأٓخِرَةِ نَزِدۡ لَهُۥ فِي حَرۡثِهِۦۖ
and whoever desires the tilth of the near life, We give him a portion of it,
وَمَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرۡثَ اَ۬لدُّنۡيۭا نُوتِهۡ مِنۡهَا
but he will have no portion in the last life.
وَمَا لَهُۥ فِي اِ۬لۡأٓخِرَةِ مِن نَّصِيبٍ
Or do they have associates who have ordained for them, in the Law, what God has not authorized?
أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شُرَكَٰٓؤُاْ شَرَعُواْ لَهُم مِّنَ اَ۬لدِّينِ مَا لَمۡ يَاذَنۢ بِهِ اِ۬للَّهُۚ
And were it not for the word of the Separation, it would have been decided between them;
وَلَوۡلَا كَلِمَةُ اُ۬لۡفَصۡل لَّقُضِيَ بَيۡنَهُمۡۗ
and the wrongdoers will indeed have a painful punishment.
وَإِنَّ اَ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ
You will see the wrongdoers apprehensive over what they have earned, while it is about to befall them;
تَر۪ي اَ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَ مُشۡفِقِينَ مِمَّا كَسَبُواْ وَهۡو وَّاقِعُۢ بِهِمۡۗ
while those who have believed and done sound deeds will be in the flowering meadows of the Gardens,
وَاَلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ اُ۬لصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فِي رَوۡضَاتِ اِ۬لۡجَنَّاتِۖ
they will have whatever they will, with their Guardian:
لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡۚ
that is the great favor.
ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ اَ۬لۡفَضۡلُ اُ۬لۡكَبِيرُ
That is the good news God gives to His obedient ones who have believed and done sound deeds.
ذَٰلِكَ اَ۬لَّذِي يَبۡشُرُ اُ۬للَّهُ عِبَادَهُ اُ۬لَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ اُ۬لصَّٰلِحَٰتِۗ
Say: "I ask of you no reward for this, other than affection in closeness."
قُل لَّا أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ أَجۡرًا إِلَّا اَ۬لۡمَوَدَّةَ فِي اِ۬لۡقُرۡبۭيٰۗ
And whoever earns a good deed, We increase its beauty for him;
وَمَن يَقۡتَرِفۡ حَسَنَةٗ نَّزِدۡ لَهُۥ فِيهَا حُسۡنًاۚ
for God is Most-Forgiving, Most-Grateful.
إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ غَفُورٞ شَكُورٌ
Or will they say that he has invented a lie against God?
أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ اَ۪فۡتَر۪يٰ عَلَى اَ۬للَّهِ كَذِبٗاۖ
Yet if God willed, He would seal your core;
فَإِن يَشَإِ اِ۬للَّهُ يَخۡتِمۡ عَلَىٰ قَلۡبِكَۗ
but God blots out falsehood and makes truth prevail by His words,
وَيَمۡحُ اُ۬للَّهُ اُ۬لۡبَٰطِلَ وَيُحِقُّ اُ۬لۡحَقَّ بِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦۚ
for He is All-Knowing of what the chests contain.
إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ اِ۬لصُّدُورِ
It is He who accepts repentance from His obedient ones, overlooks evil deeds, and knows what they do.
وَهۡوَ اَ۬لَّذِي يَقۡبَلُ اُ۬لتَّوۡبَةَ عَنۡ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَعۡفُواْ عَنِ اِ۬لسَّيِّـَٔاتِ وَيَعۡلَم مَّا يَفۡعَلُونَ
And He answers those who have believed and done sound deeds, and gives them more of His favor;
وَيَسۡتَجِيبُ اُ۬لَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ اُ۬لصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَيَزِيدُهُم مِّن فَضۡلِهِۦۚ
while those who disown will have a severe punishment.
وَاَلۡكَٰفِرُونَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ شَدِيدٞ
And were God to extend provision to His obedient ones, they would commit iniquity on the earth;
وَلَوۡ بَسَطَ اَ۬للَّهُ اُ۬لرِّزۡقَ لِعِبَادِهِۦ لَبَغَوۡاْ فِي اِ۬لۡأَرۡضِ
but He sends down in due measure what He wills,
وَلَٰكِن يُنزِلُ بِقَدَرٖ مَّا يَشَآءُۚ
for He is, toward His obedient ones, Intimately Acquainted and All-Seeing.
اِ۪نَّهُۥ بِعِبَادِهِۦ خَبِيرُۢ بَصِيرٞ
It is He who sends down the saving rain after they have lost heart, and who deploys His benevolence;
وَهۡوَ اَ۬لَّذِي يُنزِلُ اُ۬لۡغَيۡثَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا قَنَطُواْ وَيَنشُر رَّحۡمَتَهُۥۚ
and He is the Ally, the Praiseworthy.
وَهۡوَ اَ۬لۡوَلِيُّ اُ۬لۡحَمِيدُ
And among His signs: the creation of the heavens and the earth, and whatever living beings He has spread throughout them;
وَمِنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ خَلۡقُ اُ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَاَلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَثَّ فِيهِمَا مِن دَآبَّةٖۚ
and He is able to bring them together, whenever He wills.
وَهۡوَ عَلَىٰ جَمۡعِهِمۡ إِذَا يَشَآءُ قَدِيرٞ
And whatever affliction strikes you is because of what your own hands have earned — and He overlooks much.
وَمَا أَصَٰبَكُم مِّن مُّصِيبَةٖ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتۡ أَيۡدِيكُمۡ وَيَعۡفُواْ عَن كَثِيرٖ
You cannot render Him powerless on the earth,
وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُعۡجِزِينَ فِي اِ۬لۡأَرۡضِۖ
and you have, besides God, neither ally nor help.
وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ اِ۬للَّهِ مِن وَلِيّٖ وَلَا نَصِيرٖ
And among His signs: those that run upon the sea like raised landmarks.
۞ وَمِنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِ اِ۬لۡجَوَارِۦ فِي اِ۬لۡبَحۡرِ كَاَلۡأَعۡلَٰمِۚ
If He wills, He stills the wind, and they stay becalmed upon its surface — surely in that are signs for every very patient, very grateful one — or He delivers them to disaster because of what they have earned, while overlooking much,
إِن يَشَأۡ يُسۡكِنِ اِ۬لرِّيحَ فَيَظۡلَلۡنَ رَوَاكِدَ عَلَىٰ ظَهۡرِهِۦۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّكُلِّ صَبّ۪ارٖ شَكُورٍ أَوۡ يُوبِقۡهُنَّ بِمَا كَسَبُواْ وَيَعۡفُ عَن كَثِيرٖ
— and so that those who argue about Our signs may know that they have no escape.
وَيَعۡلَمَ اَ۬لَّذِينَ يُجَٰدِلُونَ فِي ءَايَٰتِنَا مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِيصٖ
Whatever you have been given is only the enjoyment of the near life;
فَمَا أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَيۡءٖ فَمَتَٰعُ اُ۬لۡحَيَوٰةِ اِ۬لدُّنۡيۭاۚ
but what is with God is better and more lasting, for those who believe and entrust themselves to their Guardian;
وَمَا عِندَ اَ۬للَّهِ خَيۡرٞ وَأَبۡقَىٰ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
and for those who avoid major transgressions and indecencies, and who, when angered, forgive;
وَاَلَّذِينَ يَجۡتَنِبُونَ كَبَٰٓئِرَ اَ۬لۡإِثۡمِ وَاَلۡفَوَٰحِشَ وَإِذَا مَا غَضِبُواْ هُمۡ يَغۡفِرُونَ
and for those who answer their Guardian, maintain the Contact, conduct their affairs by conferring among themselves, and spend from what We have provided them;
وَاَلَّذِينَ اَ۪سۡتَجَابُواْ لِرَبِّهِمۡ وَأَقَامُواْ اُ۬لصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَمۡرُهُمۡ شُور۪يٰ بَيۡنَهُمۡ وَمِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ يُنفِقُونَ
and for those who, when iniquity strikes them, help themselves.
وَاَلَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَهُمُ اُ۬لۡبَغۡيُ هُمۡ يَنتَصِرُونَ
And the recompense of an evil is an evil equal to it;
وَجَزَٰٓؤُاْ سَيِّئَةٖ سَيِّئَةٞ مِّثۡلُهَاۖ
but whoever overlooks and reconciles, his reward is upon God,
فَمَنۡ عَفَا وَأَصۡلَحَ فَأَجۡرُهُۥ عَلَى اَ۬للَّهِۚ
for He does not love the wrongdoers.
إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ اُ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَ
And whoever helps himself after having been wronged, no way against such.
وَلَمَنِ اِ۪نتَصَرَ بَعۡدَ ظُلۡمِهِۦ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ مَا عَلَيۡهِم مِّن سَبِيلٍ
The way is open only against those who wrong men and commit iniquity on the earth without right.
إِنَّمَا اَ۬لسَّبِيلُ عَلَى اَ۬لَّذِينَ يَظۡلِمُونَ اَ۬لنَّاسَ وَيَبۡغُونَ فِي اِ۬لۡأَرۡضِ بِغَيۡرِ اِ۬لۡحَقِّۚ
Those are the ones who will have a painful punishment.
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ
And whoever is patient and forgives, that is surely among the matters requiring resolve.
۞ وَلَمَن صَبَرَ وَغَفَرَ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمِنۡ عَزۡمِ اِ۬لۡأُمُورِ
And whoever God leads astray has no ally after that.
وَمَن يُضۡلِلِ اِ۬للَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن وَلِيّٖ مِّنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦۗ
And you will see the wrongdoers, when they see the punishment, saying: "Is there any way to be brought back?"
وَتَر۪ي اَ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَ لَمَّا رَأَوُاْ اُ۬لۡعَذَابَ يَقُولُونَ هَلۡ إِلَىٰ مَرَدّٖ مِّن سَبِيلٖ
And you will see them exposed before it, humble,
وَتَر۪ىٰهُمۡ يُعۡرَضُونَ عَلَيۡهَا خَٰشِعِينَ
looking with a furtive glance, out of humiliation.
مِنَ اَ۬لذُّلِّ يَنظُرُونَ مِن طَرۡفٍ خَفِيّٖۗ
And those who have believed will say: "The losers are indeed those who have caused the loss of their Selves and of their families on the Day of Appearance."
وَقَالَ اَ۬لَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ إِنَّ اَ۬لۡخَٰسِرِينَ اَ۬لَّذِينَ خَسِرُواْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ وَأَهۡلِيهِمۡ يَوۡمَ اَ۬لۡقِيَٰمَةِۗ
Is it not so: the wrongdoers are in lasting punishment.
أَلَا إِنَّ اَ۬لظَّٰلِمِينَ فِي عَذَابٖ مُّقِيمٖ
They will have no allies to help them, besides God.
وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّنۡ أَوۡلِيَآءَ يَنصُرُونَهُم مِّن دُونِ اِ۬للَّهِۗ
And whoever God leads astray has no way at all.
وَمَن يُضۡلِلِ اِ۬للَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن سَبِيلٍ
Answer your Guardian before there comes, from God, a day that cannot be turned back;
اِ۪سۡتَجِيبُواْ لِرَبِّكُم مِّن قَبۡلِ أَن يَاتِي يَّوۡمٞ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥ مِنَ اَ۬للَّهِۚ
you will have no sanctuary on that Day,
مَا لَكُم مِّن مَّلۡجَإٖ يَوۡمَئِذٖ
and you will have no way to disavow.
وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّكِيرٖ
If they turn away, We have not sent you as a preserver over them;
فَإِنۡ أَعۡرَضُواْ فَمَا أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَفِيظًاۖ
only the transmission is incumbent upon you.
إِنۡ عَلَيۡكَ إِلَّا اَ۬لۡبَلَٰغُۗ
And when We let the human being taste a benevolence from Us, he rejoices in it;
وَإِنَّا إِذَا أَذَقۡنَا اَ۬لۡإِنسَٰنَ مِنَّا رَحۡمَةٗ فَرِحَ بِهَاۖ
but if an evil strikes them because of what their hands have prepared, then the human being is indeed greatly given to disowning.
وَإِن تُصِبۡهُمۡ سَيِّئَةُۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ فَإِنَّ اَ۬لۡإِنسَٰنَ كَفُورٞ
To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth;
لِّلَّهِ مُلۡكُ اُ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَاَلۡأَرۡضِۚ
He creates what He wills;
يَخۡلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُۚ
He bestows, on whom He wills, daughters, and He bestows, on whom He wills, sons, or He pairs them, males and females, and He renders barren whom He wills,
يَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ اِ۪نَٰثٗا وَيَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ اُ۬لذُّكُورَ أَوۡ يُزَوِّجُهُمۡ ذُكۡرَانٗا وَإِنَٰثٗاۖ وَيَجۡعَلُ مَن يَشَآءُ عَقِيمًاۚ
for He is All-Knowing, Capable.
إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٞ قَدِيرٞ
It is not for any human that God should speak to him, except by revelation, or from behind a veil, or by sending a messenger who reveals, with His permission, what He wills;
۞ وَمَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُكَلِّمَهُ اُ۬للَّهُ إِلَّا وَحۡيًا أَوۡ مِن وَرَآيِٕ حِجَابٍ أَوۡ يُرۡسِل رَّسُولٗا فَيُوحِيَ بِإِذۡنِهِۦ مَا يَشَآءُۚ
He is indeed the Most High, the Wise.
اِ۪نَّهُۥ عَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٞ
Thus have We revealed to you an Influx emanating from Our command;
وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوۡحَيۡنَا إِلَيۡكَ رُوحٗا مِّنۡ أَمۡرِنَاۚ
you had no idea what the Scripture was, nor faith, but We made it a light by which We guide whom We will among Our obedient ones;
مَا كُنتَ تَدۡرِي مَا اَ۬لۡكِتَٰبُ وَلَا اَ۬لۡإِيمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِن جَعَلۡنَٰهُ نُورٗا نَّهۡدِي بِهِۦ مَن نَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَاۚ
and you surely guide to a straight path — the path of God, to whom belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth.
وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهۡدِي إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ صِرَٰطِ اِ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لَّذِي لَهُۥ مَا فِي اِ۬لسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي اِ۬لۡأَرۡضِۗ
Is it not so: to God all affairs make their way.
أَلَا إِلَى اَ۬للَّهِ تَصِيرُ اُ۬لۡأُمُورُ
