Al-Insan

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Has there come upon the human being a period of time when he was not a thing worth mentioning?

بِسْمِ اِ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لرَّحْمَٰنِ اِ۬لرَّحِيمِ هَلَ اَت۪ىٰ عَلَى اَ۬لِانسَٰنِ حِينٞ مِّنَ اَ۬لدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَئْاٗ مَّذْكُوراًۖ

We created the human being from a conjoined drop, to test him; and We made him hearing and seeing.

اِنَّا خَلَقْنَا اَ۬لِانسَٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ اَمْشَاجٖ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ سَمِيعاَۢ بَصِيراًۖ

We guided him along the way, be he grateful or be he disowning.

اِنَّا هَدَيْنَٰهُ اُ۬لسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِراٗ وَإِمَّا كَفُوراًۖ

Indeed, We have made ready for the disowners chains, shackles, and an inferno.

اِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكٰ۪فِرِينَ سَلَٰسِلاٗ وَأَغْلَٰلاٗ وَسَعِيراًۖ

Indeed, the virtuous will drink from a cup whose blend is of camphor, a spring from which the obedient ones of God drink, making it gush forth abundantly.

اِنَّ اَ۬لَابْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٖ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُوراً عَيْناٗ يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ اُ۬للَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيراٗۖ

They are faithful to their vows, and they fear a Day whose ill spreads far and wide.

يُوفُونَ بِالنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْماٗ كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيراٗۖ

we want from you neither recompense nor gratitude.

لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءٗ وَلَا شُكُوراًۖ

Indeed, we fear from our Guardian a Day, austere and dreadful."

اِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْماً عَبُوساٗ قَمْطَرِيراٗۖ

So God has protected them from the ill of that Day and has made them meet radiance and elation.

فَوَق۪يٰهُمُ اُ۬للَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ اَ۬لْيَوْمِ وَلَقّ۪يٰهُمْ نَضْرَةٗ وَسُرُوراٗۖ

And He has recompensed them, for having been patient, with a garden and silk, reclining therein upon adorned couches, seeing therein neither sun nor bitter cold; its shades will hang close over them, and its clusters made docile, within easy reach.

وَجَز۪يٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُواْ جَنَّةٗ وَحَرِيراٗ مُّتَّكِـِٕينَ فِيهَا عَلَى اَ۬لَارَآئِكِ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْساٗ وَلَا زَمْهَرِيراٗ وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلاٗۖ

And there will circulate among them vessels of silver and goblets that were as clear as crystal,

وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِـَٔانِيَةٖ مِّن فِضَّةٖ وَأَكْوَابٖ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيراٗۖ

crystal of silver, whose measure they have determined precisely.

قَوَارِيراٗ مِّن فِضَّةٖ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيراٗۖ

And they will be given to drink there a cup whose blend is of ginger, a spring therein named Salsabil.

وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْساٗ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلاً عَيْناٗ فِيهَا تُسَمّ۪ىٰ سَلْسَبِيلاٗۖ

And there will circulate among them children made eternal; were you to see them, you would think them scattered pearls.

۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٞ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤاٗ مَّنثُوراٗۖ

And their Guardian has given them to drink a purely purifying drink.

وَسَق۪يٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَاباٗ طَهُوراًۖ

This has been for you a recompense, and your effort has been met with gratitude.

اِنَّ هَٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءٗ وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُوراًۖ

It is We who have sent down to you the Recitation, a gradual sending down.

اِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ اَ۬لْقُرْءَانَ تَنزِيلاٗۖ

So be patient with the judgment of your Guardian, and do not defer to any transgressor or great disowner among them.

فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمُۥٓ ءَاثِماً اَوْ كَفُوراٗۖ

And remember the name of your Guardian morning and evening.

وَاذْكُرِ اِ۪سْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةٗ وَأَصِيلاٗۖ

And during a part of the night prostrate to Him, and glorify Him through a long night.

وَمِنَ اَ۬ليْلِ فَاسْجُدْ لَهُۥ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلاٗ طَوِيلاًۖ

These love the immediate life, and forsake, beyond them, a heavy Day.

اِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ يُحِبُّونَ اَ۬لْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَآءَهُمْ يَوْماٗ ثَقِيلاٗۖ

It is We who created them and strengthened their frame; and when We will it, We will replace them entirely with their likenesses.

نَّحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَآ أَسْرَهُمْ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَآ أَمْثَٰلَهُمْ تَبْدِيلاًۖ

So whoever wants may take, toward his Guardian, a way.

فَمَن شَآءَ اَ۪تَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلاٗۖ

for God is All-Knowing, Wise.

إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيماً حَكِيماٗۖ

And for the wrongdoers, He has prepared a painful punishment.

وَالظَّٰلِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَاباً اَلِيماٗۖ
