Al-Mulk
The Dominion
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Blessed is He in whose hand is the dominion, and He is capable of all things,
بِسْمِ اِ۬للَّهِ اِ۬لرَّحْمَٰنِ اِ۬لرَّحِيمِ تَبَٰرَكَ اَ۬لذِے بِيَدِهِ اِ۬لْمُلْكُ وَهْوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَےْءٖ قَدِيرٌۖ
who created death and life to test you: which of you acts best.
اِ۬لذِے خَلَقَ اَ۬لْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلاٗۖ
And He is the All-Powerful, the Most-Forgiving.
وَهْوَ اَ۬لْعَزِيزُ اُ۬لْغَفُورُۖ
He who created seven heavens in layers.
اُ۬لذِے خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٖ طِبَاقاٗۖ
You do not see in the creation of the All-Benevolent any disharmony.
مَّا تَرَىٰ فِے خَلْقِ اِ۬لرَّحْمَٰنِ مِن تَفَٰوُتٖۖ
Return your gaze: do you see any fissure?
فَارْجِعِ اِ۬لْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرَىٰ مِن فُطُورٖۖ
Then return your gaze twice more: your gaze will return to you rebuffed and breathless.
ثُمَّ اَ۪رْجِعِ اِ۬لْبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيْنِ يَنقَلِبْ إِلَيْكَ اَ۬لْبَصَرُ خَاسِئاٗ وَهْوَ حَسِيرٞۖ
We have indeed adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and made them missiles against the Diverters, and We have made ready for them the punishment of the Inferno.
وَلَقَدْ زَيَّنَّا اَ۬لسَّمَآءَ اَ۬لدُّنْيَا بِمَصَٰبِيحَ وَجَعَلْنَٰهَا رُجُوماٗ لِّلشَّيَٰطِينِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ اَ۬لسَّعِيرِۖ
And for those who disowned their Guardian is the punishment of Jahannam,
وَلِلذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَۖ
and what an evil destination!
وَبِئْسَ اَ۬لْمَصِيرُۖ
When they are thrown into it, they will hear it roaring as it boils, almost splitting with fury.
إِذَا أُلْقُواْ فِيهَا سَمِعُواْ لَهَا شَهِيقاٗ وَهْيَ تَفُورُ تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ اَ۬لْغَيْظِۖ
Every time a crowd is thrown into it, its custodians will ask them: "Did no warner come to you?"
كُلَّمَا أُلْقِيَ فِيهَا فَوْجٞ سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَذِيرٞۖ
They will say: "Yes, a warner did come to us, but we denied him and said: 'God has not sent down anything, you are only in great error.'"
قَالُواْ بَلَىٰ قَدْ جَآءَنَا نَذِيرٞ فَكَذَّبْنَا وَقُلْنَا مَا نَزَّلَ اَ۬للَّهُ مِن شَےْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِے ضَلَٰلٖ كَبِيرٖۖ
And they will say: "If we had listened or reasoned, we would not be among the companions of the Inferno."
وَقَالُواْ لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِے أَصْحَٰبِ اِ۬لسَّعِيرِۖ
So they will acknowledge their offense:
فَاعْتَرَفُواْ بِذَنۢبِهِمْۖ
so away with the companions of the Inferno!
فَسُحْقاٗ لِّأَصْحَٰبِ اِ۬لسَّعِيرِۖ
Those who dread their Guardian even though He escapes their senses will indeed have forgiveness and a great reward.
إِنَّ اَ۬لذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُم بِالْغَيْبِ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٞ وَأَجْرٞ كَبِيرٞۖ
And whether you keep your saying secret or say it aloud,
وَأَسِرُّواْ قَوْلَكُمْ أَوِ اِ۪جْهَرُواْ بِهِۦۖ
for He is All-Knowing of what the chests contain.
إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ اِ۬لصُّدُورِۖ
Would He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Intimately Acquainted?
أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهْوَ اَ۬للَّطِيفُ اُ۬لْخَبِيرُۖ
It is He who made the earth docile for you; so walk through its expanses and eat from His provision.
هُوَ اَ۬لذِے جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اُ۬لْأَرْضَ ذَلُولاٗ فَامْشُواْ فِے مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُواْ مِن رِّزْقِهِۦۖ
And to Him is the Deployment.
وَإِلَيْهِ اِ۬لنُّشُورُۖ
Do you feel secure that He who is in the heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you, whereupon it sways?
ءَٰا۬مِنتُم مَّن فِے اِ۬لسَّمَآءِ اَ۬نْ يَّخْسِفَ بِكُمُ اُ۬لْأَرْضَ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَمُورُۖ
Or do you feel secure that He who is in the heaven will not send against you a storm of stones?
أَمْ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِے اِ۬لسَّمَآءِ اَ۬نْ يُّرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِباٗۖ
Then you will know how My warning was.
فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ كَيْفَ نَذِيرِۖ
Those before them certainly denied,
وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ اَ۬لذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْۖ
and how was My disavowal!
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِۖ
Have they not seen the birds above them, aligning their wings and folding them?
۞ أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ إِلَى اَ۬لطَّيْرِ فَوْقَهُمْ صَٰٓفَّٰتٖ وَيَقْبِضْنَۖ
Nothing holds them up except the All-Benevolent,
مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا اَ۬لرَّحْمَٰنُۖ
for He is All-Seeing of all things.
إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَےْءِۢ بَصِيرٌۖ
Or who is it that would be an army for you and help you, besides the All-Benevolent?
أَمَّنْ هَٰذَا اَ۬لذِے هُوَ جُندٞ لَّكُمْ يَنصُرُكُم مِّن دُونِ اِ۬لرَّحْمَٰنِۖ
Those who disown are only in delusion.
إِنِ اِ۬لْكَٰفِرُونَ إِلَّا فِے غُرُورٍۖ
Or who is it that would provide for you, if He held back His provision?
أَمَّنْ هَٰذَا اَ۬لذِے يَرْزُقُكُمْ إِنْ أَمْسَكَ رِزْقَهُۥۖ
Yet they are mired in insolence and recoil.
بَل لَّجُّواْ فِے عُتُوّٖ وَنُفُورٍۖ
Is he who walks fallen on his face better guided, or he who walks upright on a straight path?
أَفَمَنْ يَّمْشِے مُكِبّاً عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِۦ أَهْدَىٰ أَمَّنْ يَّمْشِے سَوِيّاً عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسْتَقِيمٖۖ
Say: "It is He who brought you into being and appointed for you hearing, sight, and Consciences.
قُلْ هُوَ اَ۬لذِے أَنشَأَكُمْ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ اُ۬لسَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَٰرَ وَالْأَفْـِٕدَةَۖ
How little you are grateful!"
قَلِيلاٗ مَّا تَشْكُرُونَۖ
Say: "It is He who scattered you upon the earth, and to Him you will be gathered."
قُلْ هُوَ اَ۬لذِے ذَرَأَكُمْ فِے اِ۬لْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَۖ
And they say: "When will this promise be, if you are veracious?"
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا اَ۬لْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَۖ
Say: "The knowledge is only with God; I am only a clear warner."
قُلْ إِنَّمَا اَ۬لْعِلْمُ عِندَ اَ۬للَّهِ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞۖ
Then, when they see it near, vexation will be stamped upon the faces of those who disowned, and it will be said: "This is what you used to call for."
فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ زُلْفَةٗ س۬يَٓٔتْ وُجُوهُ اُ۬لذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَقِيلَ هَٰذَا اَ۬لذِے كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَدَّعُونَۖ
Say: "Do you see? Whether God annihilates me and those with me, or has benevolence on us, who will grant asylum to those who disown from a painful punishment?"
قُلْ أَرَٰ۬يْتُمْ إِنْ أَهْلَكَنِيَ اَ۬للَّهُ وَمَن مَّعِيَ أَوْ رَحِمَنَا فَمَنْ يُّجِيرُ اُ۬لْكَٰفِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٖۖ
Say: "He is the All-Benevolent; we believe in Him and to Him we entrust ourselves.
قُلْ هُوَ اَ۬لرَّحْمَٰنُ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ وَعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْنَاۖ
You will soon know who is in manifest error."
فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ فِے ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖۖ
Say: "Do you see? If your water were to sink into the ground, who then would bring you spring water?"
قُلْ أَرَٰ۬يْتُمْ إِنْ أَصْبَحَ مَآؤُكُمْ غَوْراٗ فَمَنْ يَّأْتِيكُم بِمَآءٖ مَّعِينِۢۖ
