2:50 Sura 2 · Guidance for Those Who Guard Themselves Open the verse →
And when We split the sea for you, and saved you, and drowned the clan of Fir'awn, while you looked on.
وَإِذْ فَرَقْنَا بِكُمُ ٱلْبَحْرَ فَأَنجَيْنَٰكُمْ وَأَغْرَقْنَآ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ -

and We drowned those who had denied Our signs.
وَأَغْرَقْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ -

We then took vengeance upon them, and We drowned them in the deep, for having denied Our signs and remained heedless of them.
فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَٰفِلِينَ -

and We drowned the clan of Fir'awn.
وَأَغْرَقْنَآ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ -

and We drowned those who had denied Our signs.
وَأَغْرَقْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا -

until, when the drowning overtook him, he said: "I believe that there is no deity but He in whom the Sons of Israel have believed, and I am among those true to God alone."
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَدْرَكَهُ ٱلْغَرَقُ قَالَ ءَامَنتُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَامَنَتْ بِهِۦ بَنُوٓا۟ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ -

and do not address Me about those who have done wrong: they will indeed be drowned.
وَلَا تُخَٰطِبْنِى فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ -

And the wave intervened between them, and he was among the drowned.
وَحَالَ بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلْمَوْجُ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُغْرَقِينَ -
17:69 Sura 17 · To What Is Most Upright Open the verse →
Are you then sure We will not cause a part of the dry land to swallow you, or send upon you a storm of stones, leaving you then to find no trustee? Or are you sure We will not bring you back into it another time, to send upon you a shattering wind that drowns you, for your disowning, leaving you then to find no one to pursue Us on your behalf?
أَفَأَمِنتُمْ أَن يَخْسِفَ بِكُمْ جَانِبَ ٱلْبَرِّ أَوْ يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًۭا ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُوا۟ لَكُمْ وَكِيلًا أَمْ أَمِنتُمْ أَن يُعِيدَكُمْ فِيهِ تَارَةً أُخْرَىٰ فَيُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ قَاصِفًۭا مِّنَ ٱلرِّيحِ فَيُغْرِقَكُم بِمَا كَفَرْتُمْ ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُوا۟ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا بِهِۦ تَبِيعًۭا -
17:103 Sura 17 · To What Is Most Upright Open the verse →
He then wanted to shake them out of that land; but We drowned him, and all those with him.
فَأَرَادَ أَن يَسْتَفِزَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ جَمِيعًۭا -
18:71 Sura 18 · Unless God Wills Open the verse →
He said: "Have you made a hole in it to drown its occupants? You have come to a very grave thing!"
قَالَ أَخَرَقْتَهَا لِتُغْرِقَ أَهْلَهَا لَقَدْ جِئْتَ شَيْـًٔا إِمْرًۭا -

they were an evil people, so We drowned them all together.
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمَ سَوْءٍۢ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ -

and do not address Me about those who have done wrong: they will indeed be drowned.

And the people of Nuh, when they denied the messengers, We drowned them and made them a sign for mankind.
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍۢ لَّمَّا كَذَّبُوا۟ ٱلرُّسُلَ أَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ لِلنَّاسِ ءَايَةًۭ -

And We saved Moussa and all those with him, then We drowned the others.
وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ -

Then We drowned afterward those who remained.
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ -

And if We willed, We would drown them; then there would be none to answer their cry, nor would they be saved, except by a benevolence from Us, and enjoyment for a time.
وَإِن نَّشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنقَذُونَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةًۭ مِّنَّا وَمَتَٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ -

Then We drowned the others.
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ -
43:56 Sura 43 · In the Footsteps of the Ancestors Open the verse →
So when they angered Us, We took vengeance upon them: We drowned them all, and made of them a people of former days and an example for later generations.
فَلَمَّآ ءَاسَفُونَا ٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ سَلَفًۭا وَمَثَلًۭا لِّلْءَاخِرِينَ -

They are indeed an army that will be drowned."
إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌۭ مُّغْرَقُونَ -

Because of their faults they were drowned and put into a fire, and they found none besides God to help them.
مِّمَّا خَطِيٓـَٰٔتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا۟ فَأُدْخِلُوا۟ نَارًۭا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا۟ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَنصَارًۭا -

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. By those who tear away, submerging, those who release gently, those who swim, swimming, those who race ahead, racing, those who govern the affair — the Day the first quaking quakes, followed by the one that comes after,
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلنَّٰزِعَٰتِ غَرْقًۭا وَٱلنَّٰشِطَٰتِ نَشْطًۭا وَٱلسَّٰبِحَٰتِ سَبْحًۭا فَٱلسَّٰبِقَٰتِ سَبْقًۭا فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًۭا يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
