Al-Infitar
What has deluded you?
Summary and links in the frieze
In the frieze Created and shaped by a generous Guardian, the human being is asked what deluded him; scribes record his deeds.
Read just before, 83 leads here: The mockers were not sent as preservers (83:33); in the next one: over you are preservers, noble scribes (82:10-11). 83
It leads to 81: Two series of "when" end on "a Self will know" (82:5, 81:14): what it has put forward, then what it has brought forward. 81
Closes on “They ask one another”
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent.
When the sky is rent asunder, and when the heavenly bodies scatter, and when the seas gush forth, and when the graves are upheaved, a Self will know what it has put forward and kept back.
O human being! What has deluded you concerning your Guardian, the Generous, who created you, then proportioned you, then balanced you? In whatever form He willed, He assembled you.
By no means! Rather, you deny the Due, while surely, over you are preservers, noble scribes, who know what you do.
Surely, the virtuous will be in bliss.
And surely, the depraved will be in a Blaze; they will burn in it on the Day of the Due, and they will not be absent from it.
And what will give you an idea of what the Day of the Due is? Then, what will give you an idea of what the Day of the Due is?
The Day no Self will possess a thing for another Self.
And the command, that Day, belongs to God.
