Al-Insan

Has there come upon the human being a period of time when he was not a thing worth mentioning?

هل اتى على الانسن حين من الدهر لم يكن شيا مذكورا

We created the human being from a conjoined drop, to test him; and We made him hearing and seeing.

انا خلقنا الانسن من نطفة امشاج نبتليه فجعلنه سميعا بصيرا

We guided him along the way, be he grateful or be he disowning.

انا هدينه السبيل اما شاكرا واما كفورا

Indeed, We have made ready for the disowners chains, shackles, and an inferno.

انا اعتدنا للكفرين سلسلا واغللا وسعيرا

Indeed, the virtuous will drink from a cup whose blend is of camphor, a spring from which the obedient ones of God drink, making it gush forth abundantly.

ان الابرار يشربون من كاس كان مزاجها كافورا عينا يشرب بها عباد الله يفجرونها تفجيرا

They are faithful to their vows, and they fear a Day whose ill spreads far and wide.

يوفون بالنذر ويخافون يوما كان شره مستطيرا

we want from you neither recompense nor gratitude.

لا نريد منكم جزاء ولا شكورا

Indeed, we fear from our Guardian a Day, austere and dreadful."

انا نخاف من ربنا يوما عبوسا قمطريرا

So God has protected them from the ill of that Day and has made them meet radiance and elation.

فوقىهم الله شر ذلك اليوم ولقىهم نضرة وسرورا

And He has recompensed them, for having been patient, with a garden and silk, reclining therein upon adorned couches, seeing therein neither sun nor bitter cold; its shades will hang close over them, and its clusters made docile, within easy reach.

وجزىهم بما صبروا جنة وحريرا متكين فيها على الارايك لا يرون فيها شمسا ولا زمهريرا ودانية عليهم ظللها وذللت قطوفها تذليلا

And there will circulate among them vessels of silver and goblets that were as clear as crystal,

ويطاف عليهم بانية من فضة واكواب كانت قواريرا

crystal of silver, whose measure they have determined precisely.

قواريرا من فضة قدروها تقديرا

And they will be given to drink there a cup whose blend is of ginger, a spring therein named Salsabil.

ويسقون فيها كاسا كان مزاجها زنجبيلا عينا فيها تسمى سلسبيلا

And there will circulate among them children made eternal; were you to see them, you would think them scattered pearls.

ويطوف عليهم ولدن مخلدون اذا رايتهم حسبتهم لولوا منثورا

And their Guardian has given them to drink a purely purifying drink.

وسقىهم ربهم شرابا طهورا

This has been for you a recompense, and your effort has been met with gratitude.

ان هذا كان لكم جزاء وكان سعيكم مشكورا

It is We who have sent down to you the Recitation, a gradual sending down.

انا نحن نزلنا عليك القرءان تنزيلا

So be patient with the judgment of your Guardian, and do not defer to any transgressor or great disowner among them.

فاصبر لحكم ربك ولا تطع منهم ءاثما او كفورا

And remember the name of your Guardian morning and evening.

واذكر اسم ربك بكرة واصيلا

And during a part of the night prostrate to Him, and glorify Him through a long night.

ومن اليل فاسجد له وسبحه ليلا طويلا

These love the immediate life, and forsake, beyond them, a heavy Day.

ان هولاء يحبون العاجلة ويذرون وراءهم يوما ثقيلا

It is We who created them and strengthened their frame; and when We will it, We will replace them entirely with their likenesses.

نحن خلقنهم وشددنا اسرهم واذا شينا بدلنا امثلهم تبديلا

So whoever wants may take, toward his Guardian, a way.

فمن شاء اتخذ الى ربه سبيلا

for God is All-Knowing, Wise.

ان الله كان عليما حكيما

And for the wrongdoers, He has prepared a painful punishment.

والظلمين اعد لهم عذابا اليما
