بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In de naam van God, de Alwelwillende, de Welwillende.
Moge het dubbele vermogen te handelen van de Vader van de vlam verloren gaan, en hij zelf is verloren gegaan.
تبت يدا ابي لهب وتب
Zijn bezit en wat hij verworven heeft, hebben hem tot niets gediend.
ما اغنى عنه ماله وما كسب
Hij zal branden in een vuur van vlam, en zijn vrouw ook,
سيصلى نارا ذات لهب وامراته
zij die onophoudelijk het hout draagt, een koord van gevlochten vezel om haar hals.
