That which proves the real! What is that which proves the real?

الحاقة ما الحاقة

And what will give you an idea of what that which proves the real is?

وما ادرىك ما الحاقة

The Thamud and the Aad denied the Crash.

كذبت ثمود وعاد بالقارعة

As for the Thamud, they were annihilated by the Immoderate.

فاما ثمود فاهلكوا بالطاغية

so that you would have seen the people felled to the ground, as if they were empty trunks of palm trees.

فترى القوم فيها صرعى كانهم اعجاز نخل خاوية

Do you see any remnant of them?

فهل ترى لهم من باقية

And Fir'awn, and those on his side, and the overturned cities came with the fault; they disobeyed the messenger of their Guardian, so He seized them with an ever-swelling seizure.

وجاء فرعون ومن قبله والموتفكت بالخاطية فعصوا رسول ربهم فاخذهم اخذة رابية

When the water overflowed, We carried you on the ark, so as to make it a reminder for you, and so that a heeding ear might heed it.

انا لما طغا الماء حملنكم في الجارية لنجعلها لكم تذكرة وتعيها اذن وعية

When the Horn is blown with a single blast, and the earth and the mountains are carried and flattened with a single blow, on that day the Event will occur, and the heaven will split apart and be, on that day, frail, with the Agent at its edges,

فاذا نفخ في الصور نفخة وحدة وحملت الارض والجبال فدكتا دكة وحدة فيوميذ وقعت الواقعة وانشقت السماء فهي يوميذ واهية والملك على ارجايها

and eight will bear, on that day, the Edifice of your Guardian above them. On that day you will be exposed, and nothing about you will remain hidden.

ويحمل عرش ربك فوقهم يوميذ ثمنية يوميذ تعرضون لا تخفى منكم خافية

As for the one who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: "Here, read my record!

فاما من اوتي كتبه بيمينه فيقول هاوم اقرءوا كتبيه

For I presumed that I would meet my reckoning."

اني ظننت اني ملق حسابيه

He will be in a satisfying existence, in a lofty garden, whose clusters are within reach.

فهو في عيشة راضية في جنة عالية قطوفها دانية

pleasantly, for what you did in former days, in the days gone by."

هنيا بما اسلفتم في الايام الخالية

But as for the one who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: "Oh, would that I had not been given my record,

واما من اوتي كتبه بشماله فيقول يليتني لم اوت كتبيه

and would that I had had no idea what my reckoning was!

ولم ادر ما حسابيه

Would that it had been the final end! My goods have not availed me,

يليتها كانت القاضية ما اغنى عني ماليه

my authority has been annihilated far from me."

هلك عني سلطنيه

"Seize him, then shackle him, then expose him to the Blaze, then insert him into a chain seventy cubits in length.

خذوه فغلوه ثم الجحيم صلوه ثم في سلسلة ذرعها سبعون ذراعا فاسلكوه

He did not believe in God, the Immense, nor did he urge the feeding of the destitute.

انه كان لا يومن بالله العظيم ولا يحض على طعام المسكين

So today he has here no warm friend, nor any food except a foul discharge, which only those at fault eat."

فليس له اليوم ههنا حميم ولا طعام الا من غسلين لا ياكله الا الخطون

How little you remember!

قليلا ما تذكرون

A descent from the Guardian of all beings.

تنزيل من رب العلمين

And had he attributed to Us some fabricated sayings, We would have taken from him by the right, then cut his aorta, and not one of you could have stood as a partition for him.

ولو تقول علينا بعض الاقاويل لاخذنا منه باليمين ثم لقطعنا منه الوتين فما منكم من احد عنه حجزين

And this is surely a reminder for those who guard themselves.

وانه لتذكرة للمتقين

And We surely know that among you are deniers.

وانا لنعلم ان منكم مكذبين

And this is surely a desolation for those who disown.

وانه لحسرة على الكفرين

And this is surely the truth of certainty.

وانه لحق اليقين

So glorify in the name of your Guardian, the Immense.

فسبح باسم ربك العظيم
