۞
Al-Hadid
-
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifies God.i 1
And He is the All-Powerful, the Wise.i 1
To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He gives life and gives death. 2
And He is capable of all things. 2
He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden. 3
And He is fully aware of all things. 3
It is He who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself upon the Edifice.i 4
He knows what penetrates into the earth and what comes out of it, what descends from the sky and what ascends into it. 4
And He is with you wherever you are. 4
And God sees fully what you do. 4
To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. 5
And to God all matters return. 5
He causes the night to enter into the day and causes the day to enter into the night. 6
And He is fully aware of what is in the breasts. 6
Believe in God and His messenger, and spend from that which He has made you trustees of. 7
Those among you who believe and spend will have a great reward. 7
What is [the matter] with you that you do not believe in God, while the messenger invites you to believe in your Guardian, and He has already taken your covenant, if you are believers? 8
It is He who sends down upon His obedient one clear signs, to bring you out of the darknesses into the light. 9
And indeed, God is to you full of kindness and benevolence. 9
And what is [the matter] with you that you do not spend in the way of God, while to God belongs the inheritance of the heavens and the earth? 10
Not equal among you are those who spent and fought before the conquest [and those who did so later]. 10
...and [those who did so] afterward. Those are greater in degree than those who spent and fought afterward. 10
But to all, God has promised the best [reward]. 10
And God is fully informed of what you do. 10
Who is it that will lend God a goodly loan, so He will multiply it for him, and he will have a generous reward? 11
The Day you will see the believing men and believing women, their light running before them and on their right. 12
Your good tidings today: gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein you will abide eternally. 12
That is the great triumph. 12
The Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to those who believed: "Wait for us that we may borrow from your light." It will be said: "Go back behind you and seek a light." 13
Then a wall will be erected between them, having a gate, its interior containing benevolence, and its exterior, before it, containing punishment.i 13
They will call to them: "Were we not with you?" 14
They will say: "Yes, but you tempted yourselves, and awaited, and doubted, and false hopes deceived you until the command of God came, and the deceiver deceived you concerning God." 14
So today no ransom will be taken from you, nor from those who denied. Your refuge is the Fire; it is your master. 15
And what a wretched destination. 15
Has the time not come for those who believe that their cores should be humbled at the remembrance of God and what has descended of truth? 16
And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and time grew long for them, so their cores hardened.i 16
And many of them are the oversteppers. 16
Know that God gives life to the earth after its death. 17
We have certainly made clear to you the signs, that you might reason. 17
Indeed, the men and women who give sincerely, and who lend God a goodly loan — it will be multiplied for them, and they will have a generous reward. 18
And those who believe in God and His messengers — those are the truthful ones. 19
And the witnesses, with their Guardian. 19
They will have their reward and their light. 19
And those who denied and denied Our signs — those are the companions of the Blaze.i 19
Know that the present life is but play, diversion, adornment, mutual boasting among you, and competition in wealth and children — like the example of a rain whose vegetation delights the sowers, then it dries up, and you see it turn yellow, then it becomes debris.i 20
And in the Hereafter: severe punishment, or forgiveness from God and approval. 20
And the present life is nothing but the enjoyment of delusion. 20
Race toward forgiveness from your Guardian and a garden whose width is like the width of the heaven and the earth, prepared for those who believe in God and His messengers. 21
That is the favor of God, which He gives to whom He wills. 21
And God is the possessor of great favor. 21
No calamity strikes the earth or yourselves except that it is in a register before We bring it into being.i 22
Indeed, that is easy for God — so that you do not grieve for what has escaped you, nor exult [excessively] over what He has given you. 23
And God does not love every self-important boaster. 23
Those who are stingy and enjoin stinginess upon people. 24
And whoever turns away — then indeed, God is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy. 24
We have certainly sent Our messengers with clear proofs and sent down with them the Scripture and the balance that people may maintain justice.i 25
And We sent down iron, in which is great strength and benefits for the people. 25
And so that God may distinguish who supports Him and His messengers, without having seen Them.i 25
Indeed, God is Strong and All-Powerful.i 25
And We certainly sent Nuh and Ibrahim and placed in their descendants prophecy and the Scripture.i 26
Some of them were guided... 26
...and many of them are the oversteppers. 26
Then We caused Our messengers to follow in their footsteps, and We caused Issa son of Maryam to follow, and We gave him the Injil.i 27
And We placed in the cores of those who followed him compassion and benevolence, and monasticism, which they invented — We did not prescribe it for them — except in seeking the pleasure of God. 27
But they did not observe it as it should have been observed. 27
So We gave those among them who believed their reward. 27
And many of them are the oversteppers. 27
O you who believe, be mindful of God and believe in His messenger; He will give you a double portion of His benevolence and make for you a light by which you will walk, and He will forgive you. 28
And God is Forgiving, benevolent — so that the People of the Scripture may know that they have no power over anything of the favor of God, and that [all] favor is in the hand of God, which He gives to whom He wills.i 29
And God is the possessor of great favor. 29
