Mutual Deception

Sura 64 · 18 verses

64:1

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Whatever is in the heavens and on the earth glorifies God.

64:1

To Him belongs the dominion, and to Him belongs the praise,

and He is capable of all things.

64:2

It is He who created you, and among you is one who disowns, and among you is a believer.

And God is All-Seeing of what you do.

He created the heavens and the earth in truth, and gave you form, and made your forms excellent,

and to Him is the destination.

He knows what is in the heavens and the earth, and He knows what you keep secret and what you disclose.

And God is All-Knowing of what the chests contain.

64:5

Has the information not come to you concerning those who disowned before, and tasted the baleful consequences of their conduct, and for them is a painful punishment?

That is because their messengers used to come to them with clear proofs, but they said: "Shall humans guide us?"

64:6

So they disowned and turned their backs, and God showed Himself Self-Sufficient,

and God is Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.

64:7

Those who disown claim that they will never be raised.

64:7

Say: "Yes, by my Guardian, you will surely be raised; then you will surely be informed of what you did.

And that is easy for God."

So believe in God and His messenger, and the light which We have sent down.

And God is Intimately Acquainted with what you do.

64:9

The Day He will bring you together for the Day of Reunion — that is the Day of Mutual Deception.

64:9

And whoever believes in God and does a sound deed, We will cover for him his misdeeds and admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein eternally, forever.

That is the immense triumph.

64:10

And those who have disowned and denied Our signs — those are the companions of the Fire, abiding therein eternally,

and what an evil destination!

64:11

No calamity strikes except by the permission of God.

64:11

And whoever believes in God — He guides his core,

and God is All-Knowing of all things.

And defer to God, and defer to the messenger.

But if you turn your backs, only the clear transmission is incumbent upon Our messenger.

God, there is no deity but Him.

And it is to God that the believers should entrust themselves.

64:14

O you who have believed! Among your wives and your children is an enemy to you, so beware of them.

64:14

But if you overlook, turn the page, and forgive — then indeed God is Most-Forgiving, Benevolent.

64:15

Your goods and your children are but a trial,

and with God is an immense reward.

64:16

So guard yourselves toward God as much as you are able, and listen, and defer, and spend — it will be good for yourselves.

And whoever is protected from the greed of his Self — those are the ones who succeed.

64:17

If you make God a beautiful loan, He will double it for you and forgive you,

64:17

and God is Most-Grateful, Forbearing.

64:18

The Knower of what escapes the senses and of what is witnessed,

the All-Powerful, the Wise.
