Evidence from the text
The portion is fixed to someone: to men and women in what the parents leave, "whether little or much" (4:7); to each, of what he has earned (4:32); and the Diverter claims his own among the obedient (4:118). It is also said of the Scripture, of which some have received only a portion (3:23, 4:44, 4:51).
The same gesture sets up the mountain (88:19) and the marker toward which people race on leaving the sepulchres (70:43). Fatigue is what settles in the body at the end of the journey (18:62), and from which the Garden is free (15:48, 35:35). In 94:7, the order to direct one's effort applies the gesture to the messenger's impulse.
