Uses

1. جَمًّۭا → "immoderate" : qualifies the love of goods that closes a list of failings.

   • «وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَالَ حُبًّۭا جَمًّۭا» — "and you love goods with immoderate love" (89:20)

Evidence from the text

The word occurs only once, at the end of a series: you do not honor the orphan, you do not urge the feeding of the destitute, you consume the inheritance with voracious greed, and you love goods with a love without measure (89:17-20). The first three failings concern others; the last says what feeds them.

Distinctions

• كثر — great number, which can be counted, whereas جمّ says abundance that is not held back
