Bentuk yang tercatat : مَّدْحُورًۭا 2 · مَّدْحُورًا 1 · دُحُورًۭا 1
Core meaning
To drive away forcefully and with no return: the rejection that expels the one who has transgressed.
Uses
مَدْحُورًا → "driven away" : the one expelled; the word always follows a first qualifier of condemnation.
دُحُورًا → "driven away violently" : the verbal noun: the thrust that repels those who strain to hear the sublime court.
- «دُحُورًۭا» — "driven away violently" (37:9)
Evidence from the text
The word is each time a sentence. In 7:18 it accompanies the order to get out given to the Diverter; in 17:18 and 17:39 it follows "reproved" or "blamed" and states the lot of the one who wants the immediate life, or of the one who places another deity alongside God; in 37:9 it states the thrust that repels, from every side, those who seek to listen to the sublime court.
The rejection is never a mere moving away: it answers a transgression, and it leaves no return.
Distinctions
- رجم — to banish: to drive far off, as one keeps away with stones, whereas دَحَرَ states the thrust itself
- طرد — to chase from one's presence, a gesture always forbidden to the messenger toward those who believe
