Uses

1. مَهْمَا → "whatever" : introduces the condition, specified by مِنْ ءَايَةٍ.

   • «مَهْمَا تَأْتِنَا بِهِۦ مِنْ ءَايَةٍۢ» — "Whatever sign you bring us" (7:132)

Evidence from the text

The only use. The condition covers every possible sign, and the answer is fixed in advance: "we will not give you credit". The particle closes every way out: no sign will change the refusal.
