At-Tariq

By the sky and the night comer! And what will give you an idea of what the night comer is? The star of piercing brightness. There is no Self but has a preserver over it.

والسماء والطارق وما ادرىك ما الطارق النجم الثاقب ان كل نفس لما عليها حافظ

So let the human being look at what he was created from.

فلينظر الانسن مم خلق

He was created from a gushing water, emerging from between the loins and the bosom.

خلق من ماء دافق يخرج من بين الصلب والترايب

Surely, He is capable of his return, the Day when secrets will be tested; then he will have no power nor any help.

انه على رجعه لقادر يوم تبلى السراير فما له من قوة ولا ناصر

By the sky which returns! And by the earth which cracks open! Surely, it is a saying that separates, and it is no frivolity.

والسماء ذات الرجع والارض ذات الصدع انه لقول فصل وما هو بالهزل

Indeed, they scheme a scheme, and I scheme a scheme.

انهم يكيدون كيدا واكيد كيدا

So grant a respite to those who disown, grant them a short respite.

فمهل الكفرين امهلهم رويدا
