نحر

Formas atestiguadas : ٱنْحَرْ 1
Core meaning
To stand facing a thing and carry it through to its end, without turning away from it.
Uses
وَٱنْحَرْ → "fulfil it completely" : the imperative without complement: the contact made is its object.
- «فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَٱنْحَرْ» — "So make contact for your Guardian, and fulfil it completely" (108:2)
Evidence from the text
The word occurs only in 108:2, coordinated with صَلِّ: the second imperative bears on what the first has opened. The text gives it no other complement: it is the contact made for the Guardian that is carried to its end.
The lexicon attests نَحَرَ ٱلصَّلَاةَ, to complete one's bowing and prostration, and the root also says the facing posture (نَحَرْتُ ٱلرَّجُلَ, to stand face to face): turning fully toward the Guardian. The endowment of Abundance that precedes (108:1) calls for this whole response. The reading of slaughter would depend on a practice the text does not name.
