Bentuk yang tercatat : أَسْبَغَ 1 · سَٰبِغَٰتٍۢ 1
Core meaning
To cover entirely, leaving nothing lacking: a fullness that covers everything, whether favors or armor.
Uses
أَسْبَغَ عَلَى → "to lavish" : to pour upon someone favors that leave nothing of him uncovered.
- «وَأَسْبَغَ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعَمَهُۥ ظَٰهِرَةًۭ وَبَاطِنَةًۭ» — "and has lavished His favors upon you, apparent and hidden" (31:20)
سَٰبِغَٰت → "ample" : coats of mail that cover the whole body.
- «أَنِ ٱعْمَلْ سَٰبِغَٰتٍۢ» — "Make ample coats of mail" (34:11)
Evidence from the text
Both uses state the same entire covering. The favors reach what is seen and what is not: "apparent and hidden" (31:20). The coats of mail cover the body, and the order that follows, "measure well the interlocking of the mail" (34:11), sees to it that no link is missing.
