طمم
Teks ini belum tersedia dalam bahasa Anda; ditampilkan dalam bahasa Inggris.
Bentuk yang tercatat : ٱلطَّآمَّةُ 1
Core meaning
To cover over by overflowing all that precedes. The text makes it a name of the Hour: what submerges everything else.
Uses
ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ → "the great Cataclysm" : a name of the Hour, by what it does.
- «فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ» — "Then, when the great Cataclysm comes" (79:34)
Evidence from the text
The word occurs only once. It comes at the end of the sura, after the first quaking and the one that follows it (79:6-7), and it is called "great": it covers all that precedes. What follows gives what it produces in each one: "the Day the human being will remember what he endeavoured", and the Blaze "shown to whoever sees" (79:35-36).
Distinctions
- صخخ — the Deafening Blast: the Hour named by the crash that deafens, whereas ٱلطَّآمَّة names it by what submerges
