Evidence from the text

The word occurs only in 22:17. It takes its place in a list of six groups: those who have believed, the Reoriented, the Aspirants, the Helpers, the Magians, and those who ascribe partners to God. The text does not describe them; it names them to say that "God will indeed separate between them on the Day of Appearance". The name is rendered "the Magians".
