An-Nahl
A Drink in Which There Is Healing
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. The command of God has come: so do not seek to hasten it.
ٮسم الله الرحمں الرحٮم اٮى امر الله ڡلا ٮسٮعحلوه
Glory be to Him, and He is far above what you associate with Him.
سٮحٮه وٮعلى عما ٮسركوں
He sends down the Agents with the Influx, by His command, upon whom He wills among His obedient ones: "Warn that there is no deity but Me; so guard yourselves before Me."
ٮٮرل الملٮكه ٮالروح مں امره على مں ٮسا مں عٮاده اں اٮدروا اٮه لا اله الا اٮا ڡاٮڡوں
He created the heavens and the earth in truth.
حلٯ السموٮ والارص ٮالحٯ
He is far above what you associate with Him.
ٮعلى عما ٮسركوں
He created the human being from a drop, and behold, he is a declared quarreler.
حلٯ الاٮسں مں ٮطڡه ڡادا هو حصٮم مٮٮں
And the cattle, He created them:
والاٮعم حلڡها
in them you find warmth and benefits, and from them you eat.
لكم ڡٮها دڡ ومٮڡع ومٮها ٮاكلوں
And in them you find a stateliness, when you bring them back in the evening and when you lead them out to pasture.
ولكم ڡٮها حمال حٮں ٮرٮحوں وحٮں ٮسرحوں
And they carry your loads to a land you would not have reached except with great hardship on yourselves:
وٮحمل اٮڡالكم الى ٮلد لم ٮكوٮوا ٮلعٮه الا ٮسٯ الاٮڡس
your Guardian is surely full of kindness, Benevolent.
اں رٮكم لروڡ رحٮم
And horses, mules, and donkeys, for you to ride, and as adornment.
والحٮل والٮعال والحمٮر لٮركٮوها ورٮٮه
And He creates what you do not know.
وٮحلٯ ما لا ٮعلموں
And to God belongs the marking out of the straight way; some of it veers off.
وعلى الله ڡصد السٮٮل ومٮها حاٮر
And had He willed, He would have guided you all.
ولو سا لهدٮكم احمعٮں
It is He who sent down from the sky a water: from it you have a drink, and from it come trees where you graze your herds.
هو الدى اٮرل مں السما ما لكم مٮه سراٮ ومٮه سحر ڡٮه ٮسٮموں
By it, He causes to grow for you the crops, the olive, the palms, the vines, and every kind of fruit:
ٮٮٮٮ لكم ٮه الررع والرٮٮوں والٮحٮل والاعٮٮ ومں كل الٮمرٮ
there is surely in that a sign for a people who reflect.
اں ڡى دلك لاٮه لڡوم ٮٮڡكروں
And He has subjected for you the night and the day, the sun and the moon; and the stars are subjected by His command.
وسحر لكم الٮل والٮهار والسمس والڡمر والٮحوم مسحرٮ ٮامره
There are surely in that signs for a people who reason.
اں ڡى دلك لاٮٮ لڡوم ٮعڡلوں
And what He has scattered for you on the earth, of varied colors:
وما درا لكم ڡى الارص محٮلڡا الوٮه
there is surely in that a sign for a people who remember.
اں ڡى دلك لاٮه لڡوم ٮدكروں
It is He who has subjected the sea, so that you may eat from it fresh flesh and extract from it an ornament that you wear;
وهو الدى سحر الٮحر لٮاكلوا مٮه لحما طرٮا وٮسٮحرحوا مٮه حلٮه ٮلٮسوٮها
and you see the vessels cleaving through it, so that you may seek of His favor, and perhaps you will be grateful.
وٮرى الڡلك مواحر ڡٮه ولٮٮٮعوا مں ڡصله ولعلكم ٮسكروں
And He cast upon the earth firm anchors, so that it would not sway beneath you, and rivers and ways, perhaps you will guide yourselves, and landmarks,
والڡى ڡى الارص روسى اں ٮمٮد ٮكم واٮهرا وسٮلا لعلكم ٮهٮدوں وعلمٮ
and it is by the star that they guide themselves.
وٮالٮحم هم ٮهٮدوں
Is He who creates then like one who does not create?
اڡمں ٮحلٯ كمں لا ٮحلٯ
Will you not then remember?
اڡلا ٮدكروں
And if you numbered God's blessing, you could not enumerate it.
واں ٮعدوا ٮعمه الله لا ٮحصوها
God is surely Most-Forgiving, Benevolent.
اں الله لعڡور رحٮم
God knows what you keep secret and what you disclose.
والله ٮعلم ما ٮسروں وما ٮعلٮوں
And those you invoke besides God create nothing; it is they who are created.
والدٮں ٮدعوں مں دوں الله لا ٮحلڡوں سٮا وهم ٮحلڡوں
Dead, without life,
اموٮ عٮر احٮا
and they do not sense when they will be raised.
وما ٮسعروں اٮاں ٮٮعٮوں
Your deity is a single deity.
الهكم اله وحد
Those who do not believe in the last life have a disavowing core, and they grow proud.
ڡالدٮں لا ٮومٮوں ٮالاحره ڡلوٮهم مٮكره وهم مسٮكٮروں
There is no doubt that God knows what they keep secret and what they disclose:
لا حرم اں الله ٮعلم ما ٮسروں وما ٮعلٮوں
He does not love those who grow proud.
اٮه لا ٮحٮ المسٮكٮرٮں
And when it is said to them: "What has your Guardian sent down?" they say: "Legends of the ancients" — so as to bear, on the Day of Appearance, their burdens in full, and a portion of the burdens of those they mislead without knowledge:
وادا ڡٮل لهم مادا اٮرل رٮكم ڡالوا اسطٮر الاولٮں لٮحملوا اورارهم كامله ٮوم الڡٮمه ومں اورار الدٮں ٮصلوٮهم ٮعٮر علم
how evil is the burden they bear!
الا سا ما ٮرروں
Those before them indeed plotted; but God came to their structure from the foundations, so that the roof fell upon them from above, and the punishment came to them from where they did not sense it.
ڡد مكر الدٮں مں ڡٮلهم ڡاٮى الله ٮٮٮٮهم مں الڡواعد ڡحر علٮهم السڡڡ مں ڡوڡهم واٮٮهم العداٮ مں حٮٮ لا ٮسعروں
Then, on the Day of Appearance, He will cover them with disgrace and say: "Where are My associates, about whom you set yourselves in breach?"
ٮم ٮوم الڡٮمه ٮحرٮهم وٮڡول اٮں سركاى الدٮں كٮٮم ٮسڡوں ڡٮهم
Those to whom knowledge was given will say: "Disgrace, today, and misfortune, are indeed upon those who disown" — those the Agents keep faithfully, wronging themselves.
ڡال الدٮں اوٮوا العلم اں الحرى الٮوم والسو على الكڡرٮں الدٮں ٮٮوڡٮهم الملٮكه طالمى اٮڡسهم
They then offer their submission: "We were doing no evil!" — But yes!
ڡالڡوا السلم ما كٮا ٮعمل مں سو ٮلى
God is indeed All-Knowing of what you were doing.
اں الله علٮم ٮما كٮٮم ٮعملوں
So enter the gates of Jahannam, to abide therein eternally:
ڡادحلوا اٮوٮ حهٮم حلدٮں ڡٮها
how wretched is the sojourn of the proud!
ڡلٮٮس مٮوى المٮكٮرٮں
And it is said to those who guarded themselves: "What has your Guardian sent down?" They say: "Something good."
وڡٮل للدٮں اٮڡوا مادا اٮرل رٮكم ڡالوا حٮرا
For those who do good, in the present life, there is beauty;
للدٮں احسٮوا ڡى هده الدٮٮا حسٮه
but the abode of the last life is better,
ولدار الاحره حٮر
and what an excellent abode is that of those who guard themselves!
ولٮعم دار المٮڡٮں
The Gardens of permanence, which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow; they will have therein whatever they will.
حٮٮ عدں ٮدحلوٮها ٮحرى مں ٮحٮها الاٮهر لهم ڡٮها ما ٮساوں
Thus God recompenses those who guard themselves, those the Agents keep faithfully while they are wholesome,
كدلك ٮحرى الله المٮڡٮں الدٮں ٮٮوڡٮهم الملٮكه طٮٮٮں
saying: "Peace be upon you! Enter the Garden, for what you used to do."
ٮڡولوں سلم علٮكم ادحلوا الحٮه ٮما كٮٮم ٮعملوں
Do they then wait only for the Agents to come to them, or for the command of your Guardian to come?
هل ٮٮطروں الا اں ٮاٮٮهم الملٮكه او ٮاٮى امر رٮك
Thus did those before them act.
كدلك ڡعل الدٮں مں ڡٮلهم
God did not wrong them,
وما طلمهم الله
but it was themselves that they wronged.
ولكں كاٮوا اٮڡسهم ٮطلموں
The evils of what they did overtook them,
ڡاصاٮهم سٮاٮ ما عملوا
and what they used to mock enveloped them.
وحاٯ ٮهم ما كاٮوا ٮه ٮسٮهروں
And those who associated said: "Had God willed, we would not have obeyed anything besides Him, neither we nor our ancestors, nor would we have held anything as prohibited besides Him."
وڡال الدٮں اسركوا لو سا الله ما عٮدٮا مں دوٮه مں سى ٮحں ولا اٮاوٮا ولا حرمٮا مں دوٮه مں سى
Thus did those before them act.
كدلك ڡعل الدٮں مں ڡٮلهم
Is anything then incumbent upon the messengers, except the clear transmission?
ڡهل على الرسل الا الٮلع المٮٮں
We have indeed raised up, in every community, a messenger: "Obey God and avoid the Overreacher,"
ولڡد ٮعٮٮا ڡى كل امه رسولا اں اعٮدوا الله واحٮٮٮوا الطعوٮ
there are among them those God has guided,
ڡمٮهم مں هدى الله
and there are those upon whom error has proven true.
ومٮهم مں حڡٮ علٮه الصلله
So travel through the earth and look at what was the end of those who denied.
ڡسٮروا ڡى الارص ڡاٮطروا كٮڡ كاں عڡٮه المكدٮٮں
If you are keen on their guidance, God indeed does not guide him whom He leads astray,
اں ٮحرص على هدٮهم ڡاں الله لا ٮهدى مں ٮصل
and they will have no help.
وما لهم مں ٮصرٮں
And they swore by God, with the utmost strength of their oaths, that God will not raise up the one who dies.
واڡسموا ٮالله حهد اٮمٮهم لا ٮٮعٮ الله مں ٮموٮ
But yes! It is a promise incumbent upon Him, in truth — but most men do not know — so that He may make clear to them that on which they differ, and so that those who disown may know that they were liars.
ٮلى وعدا علٮه حڡا ولكں اكٮر الٮاس لا ٮعلموں لٮٮٮں لهم الدى ٮحٮلڡوں ڡٮه ولٮعلم الدٮں كڡروا اٮهم كاٮوا كدٮٮں
Our only saying, for a thing, when We want it, is to say to it: "Be",
اٮما ڡولٮا لسى ادا اردٮه اں ٮڡول له كں
and it is.
ڡٮكوں
And those who emigrated for God, after having been wronged, We shall surely settle them in a fine position in the present life;
والدٮں هاحروا ڡى الله مں ٮعد ما طلموا لٮٮوٮٮهم ڡى الدٮٮا حسٮه
and the reward of the last life is even greater, if they knew —
ولاحر الاحره اكٮر لو كاٮوا ٮعلموں
those who were patient and who entrust themselves to their Guardian.
الدٮں صٮروا وعلى رٮهم ٮٮوكلوں
And We sent, before you, none but men to whom We revealed: so ask the keepers of the Reminder, if you do not know — with the clear proofs and the Formularies.
وما ارسلٮا مں ڡٮلك الا رحالا ٮوحى الٮهم ڡسلوا اهل الدكر اں كٮٮم لا ٮعلموں ٮالٮٮٮٮ والرٮر
And We have sent down to you the Reminder, so that you may make clear to mankind what has been sent down to them, and perhaps they will reflect.
واٮرلٮا الٮك الدكر لٮٮٮں للٮاس ما ٮرل الٮهم ولعلهم ٮٮڡكروں
Are those who plotted the evils then sure that God will not cause the earth to swallow them, or that the punishment will not come to them from where they do not sense it, or that He will not seize them in their comings and goings, without their being able to render Him powerless, or that He will not seize them in a gradual fear?
اڡامں الدٮں مكروا السٮاٮ اں ٮحسڡ الله ٮهم الارص او ٮاٮٮهم العداٮ مں حٮٮ لا ٮسعروں او ٮاحدهم ڡى ٮڡلٮهم ڡما هم ٮمعحرٮں او ٮاحدهم على ٮحوڡ
Your Guardian is surely full of kindness, Benevolent.
ڡاں رٮكم لروڡ رحٮم
Have they not seen that, of everything God has created, the shadows incline to the right and the left, prostrate before God, while they are abased?
اولم ٮروا الى ما حلٯ الله مں سى ٮٮڡٮوا طلله عں الٮمٮں والسماٮل سحدا لله وهم دحروں
And before God prostrates everything in the heavens and on the earth, among living beings, as well as the Agents, without growing proud: they fear their Guardian, above them, and do what they are commanded.
ولله ٮسحد ما ڡى السموٮ وما ڡى الارص مں داٮه والملٮكه وهم لا ٮسٮكٮروں ٮحاڡوں رٮهم مں ڡوڡهم وٮڡعلوں ما ٮومروں
And God said: "Do not take two deities.
وڡال الله لا ٮٮحدوا الهٮں اٮٮٮں
He is but a single deity;
اٮما هو اله وحد
so it is Me you must revere."
ڡاٮى ڡارهٮوں
And to Him belongs what is in the heavens and on the earth,
وله ما ڡى السموٮ والارص
and to Him the Law, permanently.
وله الدٮں واصٮا
Is it then before other than God that you guard yourselves?
اڡعٮر الله ٮٮڡوں
Every blessing that is in you comes from God;
وما ٮكم مں ٮعمه ڡمں الله
then, when harm touches you, it is to Him that you cry out in distress.
ٮم ادا مسكم الصر ڡالٮه ٮحروں
Then, when He removes harm from you, behold, a fraction among you associates others with its Guardian, so as to disown what We have given them.
ٮم ادا كسڡ الصر عٮكم ادا ڡرٮٯ مٮكم ٮرٮهم ٮسركوں لٮكڡروا ٮما اٮٮٮهم
So enjoy yourselves,
ڡٮمٮعوا
but you will soon know.
ڡسوڡ ٮعلموں
And they assign, to what they do not know, a portion of what We have provided them.
وٮحعلوں لما لا ٮعلموں ٮصٮٮا مما ررڡٮهم
By God, you will surely be questioned about what you used to invent.
ٮالله لٮسلں عما كٮٮم ٮڡٮروں
And they assign to God daughters — Glory be to Him!
وٮحعلوں لله الٮٮٮ سٮحٮه
while for themselves is what they desire.
ولهم ما ٮسٮهوں
And when one of them receives the news of a daughter, his face stays darkened, and he is filled with suppressed distress; he screens himself from the people, because of the ill news he was given:
وادا ٮسر احدهم ٮالاٮٮى طل وحهه مسودا وهو كطٮم ٮٮورى مں الڡوم مں سو ما ٮسر ٮه
shall he retain her despite the degradation, or bury her in the ground?
اٮمسكه على هوں ام ٮدسه ڡى الٮراٮ
How evil is what they decide!
الا سا ما ٮحكموں
To those who do not believe in the last life belongs the example of evil,
للدٮں لا ٮومٮوں ٮالاحره مٮل السو
and to God belongs the most exalted example:
ولله المٮل الاعلى
and He is the All-Powerful, the Wise.
وهو العرٮر الحكٮم
And if God were to seize mankind for their wrongdoing, He would not leave upon the earth a single living being;
ولو ٮواحد الله الٮاس ٮطلمهم ما ٮرك علٮها مں داٮه
but He adjourns them until an appointed term,
ولكں ٮوحرهم الى احل مسمى
and when their term comes, they will not be able to delay it by an hour,
ڡادا حا احلهم لا ٮسٮحروں ساعه
nor advance it.
ولا ٮسٮڡدموں
And they assign to God what they themselves detest,
وٮحعلوں لله ما ٮكرهوں
and their tongues describe the lie, claiming that to them belongs the best:
وٮصڡ السٮٮهم الكدٮ اں لهم الحسٮى
there is no doubt that to them belongs the Fire, and that they will be sent forth into it first.
لا حرم اں لهم الٮار واٮهم مڡرطوں
By God, We indeed sent messengers to communities before you; but the Diverter embellished their works for them, and he is their ally today:
ٮالله لڡد ارسلٮا الى امم مں ڡٮلك ڡرٮں لهم السٮطں اعملهم ڡهو ولٮهم الٮوم
and they will have a painful punishment.
ولهم عداٮ الٮم
And We have sent down to you the Scripture only so that you may make clear to them that on which they differed, and as guidance and benevolence for a people who believe.
وما اٮرلٮا علٮك الكٮٮ الا لٮٮٮں لهم الدى احٮلڡوا ڡٮه وهدى ورحمه لڡوم ٮومٮوں
And God sent down from the sky a water, by which He brought the earth back to life after its death:
والله اٮرل مں السما ما ڡاحٮا ٮه الارص ٮعد موٮها
there is surely in that a sign for a people who hear.
اں ڡى دلك لاٮه لڡوم ٮسمعوں
And there is surely, for you, a lesson in the cattle:
واں لكم ڡى الاٮعم لعٮره
We provide you drink from what is in their bellies, between chyme and blood, a refined milk, pleasant to drink for those who drink it; and from the fruits of palms and vines, you take an intoxicating drink and a fine provision.
ٮسڡٮكم مما ڡى ٮطوٮه مں ٮٮں ڡرٮ ودم لٮٮا حالصا ساٮعا للسرٮٮں ومں ٮمرٮ الٮحٮل والاعٮٮ ٮٮحدوں مٮه سكرا وررڡا حسٮا
There is surely in that a sign for a people who reason.
اں ڡى دلك لاٮه لڡوم ٮعڡلوں
And your Guardian inspired the bee: "Take, among the mountains, houses, and in the trees and in what people build; then eat of all the fruits, and follow the ways of your Guardian, made docile."
واوحى رٮك الى الٮحل اں اٮحدى مں الحٮال ٮٮوٮا ومں السحر ومما ٮعرسوں ٮم كلى مں كل الٮمرٮ ڡاسلكى سٮل رٮك دللا
From their bellies comes forth a drink of varied colors, in which there is healing for mankind:
ٮحرح مں ٮطوٮها سراٮ محٮلڡ الوٮه ڡٮه سڡا للٮاس
there is surely in that a sign for a people who reflect.
اں ڡى دلك لاٮه لڡوم ٮٮڡكروں
God created you, then He keeps you faithfully;
والله حلڡكم ٮم ٮٮوڡٮكم
and among you are those brought back to the lowliest age, so as to know nothing more after having known.
ومٮكم مں ٮرد الى اردل العمر لكى لا ٮعلم ٮعد علم سٮا
God is All-Knowing, Capable.
اں الله علٮم ڡدٮر
And God has favored some among you over others in provision:
والله ڡصل ٮعصكم على ٮعص ڡى الررٯ
those who have been favored do not give back their provision to those bound by oath among them, so that they would be equal in it.
ڡما الدٮں ڡصلوا ٮرادى ررڡهم على ما ملكٮ اٮمٮهم ڡهم ڡٮه سوا
Would they then stubbornly reject the blessing of God?
اڡٮٮعمه الله ٮححدوں
And God has made for you, from yourselves, spouses, and He has made for you, from your spouses, sons and grandchildren,
والله حعل لكم مں اٮڡسكم اروحا وحعل لكم مں اروحكم ٮٮٮں وحڡده
and He has provided you with wholesome things.
وررڡكم مں الطٮٮٮ
Do they then believe in falsehood, and disown the blessing of God?
اڡٮالٮطل ٮومٮوں وٮٮعمٮ الله هم ٮكڡروں
And they obey, besides God, what holds for them, from the heavens and the earth, no provision at all, and has no power to do so.
وٮعٮدوں مں دوں الله ما لا ٮملك لهم ررڡا مں السموٮ والارص سٮا ولا ٮسٮطٮعوں
So do not multiply examples for God:
ڡلا ٮصرٮوا لله الامٮال
God indeed knows,
اں الله ٮعلم
and you do not know.
واٮٮم لا ٮعلموں
God multiplies an example: a constrained one, having no power at all, and one whom We have provided, from Us, with a fine provision, from which he spends secretly and openly — would they be equal?
صرٮ الله مٮلا عٮدا مملوكا لا ٮڡدر على سى ومں ررڡٮه مٮا ررڡا حسٮا ڡهو ٮٮڡٯ مٮه سرا وحهرا هل ٮسٮوں
Praise be to God!
الحمد لله
But most of them do not know.
ٮل اكٮرهم لا ٮعلموں
And God multiplies an example: two men, one of whom is mute, possessing no power at all, an entire burden upon his nearest guarantor; wherever he sends him, he brings back no good — is that one the equal of one who commands justice and stands upon a straight path?
وصرٮ الله مٮلا رحلٮں احدهما اٮكم لا ٮڡدر على سى وهو كل على مولٮه اٮٮما ٮوحهه لا ٮاٮ ٮحٮر هل ٮسٮوى هو ومں ٮامر ٮالعدل وهو على صرط مسٮڡٮم
And to God belongs what escapes the senses in the heavens and on the earth.
ولله عٮٮ السموٮ والارص
The matter of the Hour is only like the blink of an eye, or even swifter.
وما امر الساعه الا كلمح الٮصر او هو اڡرٮ
God is indeed capable of all things.
اں الله على كل سى ڡدٮر
And God brought you out of your mothers' bellies, knowing nothing,
والله احرحكم مں ٮطوں امهٮكم لا ٮعلموں سٮا
and He appointed for you hearing, sight, and Consciences, perhaps you will be grateful.
وحعل لكم السمع والاٮصر والاڡده لعلكم ٮسكروں
Have you not seen the birds, subjected in the space of the sky, held by nothing but God?
الم ٮروا الى الطٮر مسحرٮ ڡى حو السما ما ٮمسكهں الا الله
There are surely in that signs for a people who believe.
اں ڡى دلك لاٮٮ لڡوم ٮومٮوں
And God has made for you, from your houses, a peaceful dwelling, and He has made for you, from the hides of cattle, houses you find light on the day of your departure and the day of your encampment,
والله حعل لكم مں ٮٮوٮكم سكٮا وحعل لكم مں حلود الاٮعم ٮٮوٮا ٮسٮحڡوٮها ٮوم طعٮكم وٮوم اڡامٮكم
and, from their wool, their fur, and their hair, furnishings and use for a time.
ومں اصواڡها واوٮارها واسعارها اٮٮا ومٮعا الى حٮں
And God has made for you, from what He created, shades, and He has made for you, from the mountains, shelters, and He has made for you tunics that protect you from the heat, and tunics that protect you from your own violence:
والله حعل لكم مما حلٯ طللا وحعل لكم مں الحٮال اكٮٮا وحعل لكم سرٮٮل ٮڡٮكم الحر وسرٮٮل ٮڡٮكم ٮاسكم
thus He completes His blessing upon you, perhaps you will be true to Him alone.
كدلك ٮٮم ٮعمٮه علٮكم لعلكم ٮسلموں
If they turn their backs, only the clear transmission is incumbent upon you.
ڡاں ٮولوا ڡاٮما علٮك الٮلع المٮٮں
They recognize the blessing of God, then disavow it,
ٮعرڡوں ٮعمٮ الله ٮم ٮٮكروٮها
and most of them disown.
واكٮرهم الكڡروں
And the Day We raise up, from every community, a witness, no permission will any longer be given to those who disown, nor will they be asked to make amends.
وٮوم ٮٮعٮ مں كل امه سهٮدا ٮم لا ٮودں للدٮں كڡروا ولا هم ٮسٮعٮٮوں
And when those who did wrong see the punishment, it will not be lightened for them, and they will not be granted a delay.
وادا را الدٮں طلموا العداٮ ڡلا ٮحڡڡ عٮهم ولا هم ٮٮطروں
And when those who associated see their associates, they will say: "Our Guardian, these are our associates whom we used to invoke besides You."
وادا را الدٮں اسركوا سركاهم ڡالوا رٮٮا هولا سركاوٮا الدٮں كٮا ٮدعوا مں دوٮك
These will then address this saying to them: "You are surely liars."
ڡالڡوا الٮهم الڡول اٮكم لكدٮوں
And they will offer to God, that Day, their submission,
والڡوا الى الله ٮومٮد السلم
and what they used to invent will stray away from them.
وصل عٮهم ما كاٮوا ٮڡٮروں
Those who disown and who barred from God's way — We shall add for them a punishment upon the punishment, for the corruption they sowed.
الدٮں كڡروا وصدوا عں سٮٮل الله ردٮهم عداٮا ڡوٯ العداٮ ٮما كاٮوا ٮڡسدوں
And the Day We raise up, in every community, a witness from among themselves, against it, and We bring you, as a witness against these.
وٮوم ٮٮعٮ ڡى كل امه سهٮدا علٮهم مں اٮڡسهم وحٮٮا ٮك سهٮدا على هولا
And We have sent down to you the Scripture, making everything clear, and as guidance, benevolence, and good tidings for those who are true to God alone.
وٮرلٮا علٮك الكٮٮ ٮٮٮٮا لكل سى وهدى ورحمه وٮسرى للمسلمٮں
God commands justice, beneficence, and giving to the close relative,
اں الله ٮامر ٮالعدل والاحسں واٮٮاى دى الڡرٮى
and He forbids indecency, what is disavowed, and iniquity:
وٮٮهى عں الڡحسا والمٮكر والٮعى
He exhorts you, perhaps you will remember.
ٮعطكم لعلكم ٮدكروں
And be faithful to God's pact when you make a pact,
واوڡوا ٮعهد الله ادا عهدٮم
and do not break oaths after affirming them, having taken God as a guarantor over you:
ولا ٮٮڡصوا الاٮمں ٮعد ٮوكٮدها وڡد حعلٮم الله علٮكم كڡٮلا
God indeed knows what you do.
اں الله ٮعلم ما ٮڡعلوں
And do not be like her who unravels her thread, after having firmly spun it, reducing it to fibers; you take your oaths as a means of deceit among yourselves, on the pretext that one community is more numerous than another:
ولا ٮكوٮوا كالٮى ٮڡصٮ عرلها مں ٮعد ڡوه اٮكٮا ٮٮحدوں اٮمٮكم دحلا ٮٮٮكم اں ٮكوں امه هى ارٮى مں امه
God only thereby tests you,
اٮما ٮٮلوكم الله ٮه
and He will surely make clear to you, on the Day of Appearance, that on which you differed.
ولٮٮٮٮں لكم ٮوم الڡٮمه ما كٮٮم ڡٮه ٮحٮلڡوں
And had God willed, He would have made you a single community;
ولو سا الله لحعلكم امه وحده
but He leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills,
ولكں ٮصل مں ٮسا وٮهدى مں ٮسا
and you will surely be questioned about what you did.
ولٮسلں عما كٮٮم ٮعملوں
And do not take your oaths as a means of deceit among yourselves, or a foot would slip after having been firm, and you would taste evil for having barred from God's way; and you would have an immense punishment.
ولا ٮٮحدوا اٮمٮكم دحلا ٮٮٮكم ڡٮرل ڡدم ٮعد ٮٮوٮها وٮدوڡوا السو ٮما صددٮم عں سٮٮل الله ولكم عداٮ عطٮم
And do not buy, with God's pact, a paltry price:
ولا ٮسٮروا ٮعهد الله ٮمٮا ڡلٮلا
what is with God is better for you, if you knew.
اٮما عٮد الله هو حٮر لكم اں كٮٮم ٮعلموں
What is with you is exhausted,
ما عٮدكم ٮٮڡد
and what is with God endures.
وما عٮد الله ٮاٯ
And We shall surely recompense those who were patient with their reward, according to the best of their deeds.
ولٮحرٮں الدٮں صٮروا احرهم ٮاحسں ما كاٮوا ٮعملوں
Whoever does a sound deed, male or female, while being a believer, We shall surely make him live a wholesome life, and We shall surely recompense them with their reward, according to the best of their deeds.
مں عمل صلحا مں دكر او اٮٮى وهو مومں ڡلٮحٮٮٮه حٮوه طٮٮه ولٮحرٮٮهم احرهم ٮاحسں ما كاٮوا ٮعملوں
When you read the Recitation, seek refuge with God from the banished Diverter.
ڡادا ڡراٮ الڡراں ڡاسٮعد ٮالله مں السٮطں الرحٮم
He indeed has no authority over those who believe and who entrust themselves to their Guardian.
اٮه لٮس له سلطں على الدٮں امٮوا وعلى رٮهم ٮٮوكلوں
His authority is exercised only over those who take him as ally, and over those who make him an associate.
اٮما سلطٮه على الدٮں ٮٮولوٮه والدٮں هم ٮه مسركوں
And when We substitute one sign for another sign — God knows best what He sends down — they say: "You are but an inventor."
وادا ٮدلٮا اٮه مكاں اٮه والله اعلم ٮما ٮٮرل ڡالوا اٮما اٮٮ مڡٮر
But most of them do not know.
ٮل اكٮرهم لا ٮعلموں
Say: "The sacred Influx has brought it down, from your Guardian, with truth, so as to make firm those who believe, and as guidance and good tidings for those who are true to God alone."
ڡل ٮرله روح الڡدس مں رٮك ٮالحٯ لٮٮٮٮ الدٮں امٮوا وهدى وٮسرى للمسلمٮں
We will indeed know that they say: "It is only a human who teaches it to him."
ولڡد ٮعلم اٮهم ٮڡولوں اٮما ٮعلمه ٮسر
Yet the tongue of the one to whom they allude is confused, whereas this tongue is flawless, explicit.
لساں الدى ٮلحدوں الٮه اعحمى وهدا لساں عرٮى مٮٮں
Those who do not believe in God's signs, God indeed does not guide them,
اں الدٮں لا ٮومٮوں ٮاٮٮ الله لا ٮهدٮهم الله
and they will have a painful punishment.
ولهم عداٮ الٮم
Those who invent the lie are those who do not believe in God's signs,
اٮما ٮڡٮرى الكدٮ الدٮں لا ٮومٮوں ٮاٮٮ الله
and they are the liars.
واولٮك هم الكدٮوں
Whoever disowns God after having believed — except one who is coerced, while his core remains calm in faith —
مں كڡر ٮالله مں ٮعد اٮمٮه الا مں اكره وڡلٮه مطمٮں ٮالاٮمں
but whoever opens his chest to disowning, upon them falls an anger from God,
ولكں مں سرح ٮالكڡر صدرا ڡعلٮهم عصٮ مں الله
and they will have an immense punishment.
ولهم عداٮ عطٮم
That, because they loved the present life more than the last life, and because God does not guide the people who disown.
دلك ٮاٮهم اسٮحٮوا الحٮوه الدٮٮا على الاحره واں الله لا ٮهدى الڡوم الكڡرٮں
Those are the ones whose core, hearing, and sight God has stamped,
اولٮك الدٮں طٮع الله على ڡلوٮهم وسمعهم واٮصرهم
and those are the heedless.
واولٮك هم العڡلوں
There is no doubt that, in the last life, they are the losers.
لا حرم اٮهم ڡى الاحره هم الحسروں
Then, your Guardian, toward those who emigrated after having been tried, then strove and were patient — your Guardian, after that, is surely Most-Forgiving, Benevolent.
ٮم اں رٮك للدٮں هاحروا مں ٮعد ما ڡٮٮوا ٮم حهدوا وصٮروا اں رٮك مں ٮعدها لعڡور رحٮم
The Day every Self will come arguing in its own favor, and every Self will be faithfully repaid for what it did, without being wronged.
ٮوم ٮاٮى كل ٮڡس ٮحدل عں ٮڡسها وٮوڡى كل ٮڡس ما عملٮ وهم لا ٮطلموں
And God multiplies an example: a city that was secure, calm, to which its provision came with ease from everywhere; then it disowned God's blessings, and God made it taste the garment of hunger and fear, for what they were doing.
وصرٮ الله مٮلا ڡرٮه كاٮٮ امٮه مطمٮٮه ٮاٮٮها ررڡها رعدا مں كل مكاں ڡكڡرٮ ٮاٮعم الله ڡادڡها الله لٮاس الحوع والحوڡ ٮما كاٮوا ٮصٮعوں
A messenger, from among them, had indeed come to them, but they denied him; and the punishment seized them, while they were wrongdoers.
ولڡد حاهم رسول مٮهم ڡكدٮوه ڡاحدهم العداٮ وهم طلموں
So eat of what God has provided you, of what is permitted and wholesome,
ڡكلوا مما ررڡكم الله حللا طٮٮا
and be grateful for God's blessing, if it is Him that you obey.
واسكروا ٮعمٮ الله اں كٮٮم اٮاه ٮعٮدوں
He has prohibited to you only the dead animal, blood, the flesh of swine, and what has been consecrated to other than God.
اٮما حرم علٮكم المٮٮه والدم ولحم الحٮرٮر وما اهل لعٮر الله ٮه
But whoever is compelled to it, without being rebellious or crossing the limits, God is then indeed Most-Forgiving, Benevolent.
ڡمں اصطر عٮر ٮاع ولا عاد ڡاں الله عڡور رحٮم
And do not say, for what your tongues falsely describe: "This is permitted and this is prohibited," so as to invent the lie against God:
ولا ٮڡولوا لما ٮصڡ السٮٮكم الكدٮ هدا حلل وهدا حرام لٮڡٮروا على الله الكدٮ
those who invent the lie against God will indeed not succeed.
اں الدٮں ٮڡٮروں على الله الكدٮ لا ٮڡلحوں
It is an enjoyment of little worth,
مٮع ڡلٮل
and they will have a painful punishment.
ولهم عداٮ الٮم
And to the Reoriented, We prohibited what We have already related to you;
وعلى الدٮں هادوا حرمٮا ما ڡصصٮا علٮك مں ڡٮل
We did not wrong them,
وما طلمٮهم
but it was themselves that they wronged.
ولكں كاٮوا اٮڡسهم ٮطلموں
Then, your Guardian, toward those who did evil out of ignorance, then repented after that and became sound — your Guardian, after that, is surely Most-Forgiving, Benevolent.
ٮم اں رٮك للدٮں عملوا السو ٮحهله ٮم ٮاٮوا مں ٮعد دلك واصلحوا اں رٮك مں ٮعدها لعڡور رحٮم
Ibrahim was a community, devoted to God, wholly turned toward Him, and he was not among those who associate,
اں اٮرهٮم كاں امه ڡاٮٮا لله حٮٮڡا ولم ٮك مں المسركٮں
grateful for His blessings.
ساكرا لاٮعمه
He elected him and guided him to a straight path.
احٮٮٮه وهدٮه الى صرط مسٮڡٮم
And We gave him, in the present life, good;
واٮٮٮه ڡى الدٮٮا حسٮه
and in the last life, he will surely be among those who are sound.
واٮه ڡى الاحره لمں الصلحٮں
Then We revealed to you: "Follow the doctrine of Ibrahim, wholly turned toward God,"
ٮم اوحٮٮا الٮك اں اٮٮع مله اٮرهٮم حٮٮڡا
and he was not among those who associate.
وما كاں مں المسركٮں
The Rest was laid only upon those who differed about it:
اٮما حعل السٮٮ على الدٮں احٮلڡوا ڡٮه
your Guardian will surely judge between them, on the Day of Appearance, concerning that in which they differed.
واں رٮك لٮحكم ٮٮٮهم ٮوم الڡٮمه ڡٮما كاٮوا ڡٮه ٮحٮلڡوں
Call to the way of your Guardian with wisdom and fine admonition, and argue with them in the best way.
ادع الى سٮٮل رٮك ٮالحكمه والموعطه الحسٮه وحدلهم ٮالٮى هى احسں
Your Guardian knows best who has strayed from His way,
اں رٮك هو اعلم ٮمں صل عں سٮٮله
and He knows best those who let themselves be guided.
وهو اعلم ٮالمهٮدٮں
And if you pay back in kind, pay back to the exact measure of what was done to you;
واں عاڡٮٮم ڡعاڡٮوا ٮمٮل ما عوڡٮٮم ٮه
but if you are patient, that is indeed better for those who are patient.
ولٮں صٮرٮم لهو حٮر للصٮرٮں
And be patient —
واصٮر
yet your patience rests only in God.
وما صٮرك الا ٮالله
And do not grieve over them, and do not be constrained because of what they plot.
ولا ٮحرں علٮهم ولا ٮك ڡى صٮٯ مما ٮمكروں
God is indeed with those who guard themselves and those who do good.
اں الله مع الدٮں اٮڡوا والدٮں هم محسٮوں
