An-Naml

These are the signs of the Recitation and an explicit Scripture,

ٮلك اٮٮ الڡراں وكٮاٮ مٮٮں

guidance and good tidings for the believers, those who maintain the Contact and give pure liberality, and who, as for the last life, are certain of it.

هدى وٮسرى للمومٮٮں الدٮں ٮڡٮموں الصلوه وٮوٮوں الركوه وهم ٮالاحره هم ٮوڡٮوں

Those who do not believe in the last life, We have embellished their works for them, and they go about blindly.

اں الدٮں لا ٮومٮوں ٮالاحره رٮٮا لهم اعملهم ڡهم ٮعمهوں

Those are the ones for whom the worst punishment is due, and it is they, in the last life, who will be the greatest losers.

اولٮك الدٮں لهم سو العداٮ وهم ڡى الاحره هم الاحسروں

And you, you surely receive the Recitation from a Wise, an All-Knowing.

واٮك لٮلڡى الڡراں مں لدں حكٮم علٮم

When Moussa said to his family: "I have made out a fire; I will bring you news of it, or bring you a burning firebrand, perhaps you can warm yourselves."

اد ڡال موسى لاهله اٮى اٮسٮ ٮارا ساٮٮكم مٮها ٮحٮر او اٮٮكم ٮسهاٮ ڡٮس لعلكم ٮصطلوں

And glory be to God, Guardian of all beings!

وسٮحں الله رٮ العلمٮں

as for Me, the envoys do not fear in My presence,

اٮى لا ٮحاڡ لدى المرسلوں

except one who has done wrong, then replaced evil with good; then, indeed, I am Most-Forgiving, Benevolent.

الا مں طلم ٮم ٮدل حسٮا ٮعد سو ڡاٮى عڡور رحٮم

they were a people of oversteppers."

اٮهم كاٮوا ڡوما ڡسڡٮں

When Our signs came to them, plainly visible, they said: "This is a manifest illusion."

ڡلما حاٮهم اٮٮٮا مٮصره ڡالوا هدا سحر مٮٮں

So look at what was the end of the corrupters.

ڡاٮطر كٮڡ كاں عڡٮه المڡسدٮں

We certainly gave Dawud and Sulayman knowledge; and both said: "Praise be to God, who has favored us above many of His believing obedient ones."

ولڡد اٮٮٮا داود وسلٮمں علما وڡالا الحمد لله الدى ڡصلٮا على كٮٮر مں عٮاده المومٮٮں

this is surely the explicit favor."

اں هدا لهو الڡصل المٮٮں

And Sulayman's armies were gathered for him, among the Occulted, humans and birds, and they were arranged in columns.

وحسر لسلٮمں حٮوده مں الحں والاٮس والطٮر ڡهم ٮورعوں

Until, when they came to the valley of the ants, an ant said: "O ants, enter your dwellings, lest Sulayman and his armies crush you without sensing it."

حٮى ادا اٮوا على واد الٮمل ڡالٮ ٮمله ٮاٮها الٮمل ادحلوا مسكٮكم لا ٮحطمٮكم سلٮمں وحٮوده وهم لا ٮسعروں

He smiled, amused at her saying, and said: "My Guardian, inspire me to be grateful for Your blessing which You have granted me and my parents, and to do sound work that pleases You, and admit me, by Your benevolence, among Your sound obedient ones."

ڡٮٮسم صاحكا مں ڡولها وڡال رٮ اورعٮى اں اسكر ٮعمٮك الٮى اٮعمٮ على وعلى ولدى واں اعمل صلحا ٮرصٮه وادحلٮى ٮرحمٮك ڡى عٮادك الصلحٮں

And he reviewed the birds, and said: "Why do I not see the hoopoe? Or is she among the absent?

وٮڡڡد الطٮر ڡڡال ما لى لا ارى الهدهد ام كاں مں العاٮٮٮں

I will certainly punish her with a severe punishment, or I will slaughter her, unless she brings me a manifest authority."

لاعدٮٮه عداٮا سدٮدا او لاادٮحٮه او لٮاٮٮٮى ٮسلطں مٮٮں

and said: "I have encompassed what you have not encompassed, and I bring you from Saba' a sure piece of information.

ڡڡال احطٮ ٮما لم ٮحط ٮه وحٮٮك مں سٮا ٮٮٮا ٮڡٮں

And she has an immense edifice.

ولها عرس عطٮم

And I found her and her people prostrating before the sun, besides God; and the Diverter has embellished their works for them, and thus barred them from the way, so that they do not let themselves be guided, so that they do not prostrate before God, who brings forth what is hidden in the heavens and the earth, and who knows what they hide and what they disclose.

وحدٮها وڡومها ٮسحدوں للسمس مں دوں الله ورٮں لهم السٮطں اعملهم ڡصدهم عں السٮٮل ڡهم لا ٮهٮدوں الا ٮسحدوا لله الدى ٮحرح الحٮ ڡى السموٮ والارص وٮعلم ما ٮحڡوں وما ٮعلٮوں

God, there is no deity but Him, the Guardian of the immense Edifice."

الله لا اله الا هو رٮ العرس العطٮم

He said: "We shall look whether you have spoken truly, or are among the liars.

ڡال سٮٮطر اصدڡٮ ام كٮٮ مں الكدٮٮں

Go with this letter of mine, cast it to them, then move away from them, and see what they return."

ادهٮ ٮكٮٮى هدا ڡالڡه الٮهم ٮم ٮول عٮهم ڡاٮطر مادا ٮرحعوں

She said: "O court, a noble letter has been cast to me. It is from Sulayman, and it reads: 'In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent; do not exalt yourselves against me, and come to me as those true to God alone.'"

ڡالٮ ٮاٮها الملوا اٮى الڡى الى كٮٮ كرٮم اٮه مں سلٮمں واٮه ٮسم الله الرحمں الرحٮم الا ٮعلوا على واٮوٮى مسلمٮں

She said: "O court, enlighten me about my affair; I issue no ordinance without you bearing witness to it."

ڡالٮ ٮاٮها الملوا اڡٮوٮى ڡى امرى ما كٮٮ ڡاطعه امرا حٮى ٮسهدوں

They said: "We are possessors of strength and possessors of severe rigor, but the affair is yours to decide; so consider what you command."

ڡالوا ٮحں اولوا ڡوه واولوا ٮاس سدٮد والامر الٮك ڡاٮطرى مادا ٮامرٮں

and thus they act.

وكدلك ٮڡعلوں

Now, I am going to send them a gift, and look at what the envoys return with."

واٮى مرسله الٮهم ٮهدٮه ڡٮاطره ٮم ٮرحع المرسلوں

When he came to Sulayman, he said: "Do you wish to provide me with goods? What God has given me is better than what He has given you; it is you rather who rejoice in your gift.

ڡلما حا سلٮمں ڡال اٮمدوٮں ٮمال ڡما اٮٮں الله حٮر مما اٮٮكم ٮل اٮٮم ٮهدٮٮكم ٮڡرحوں

Return to them: we shall certainly come to them with armies they cannot withstand, and we shall certainly drive them out from it, humiliated and diminished."

ارحع الٮهم ڡلٮاٮٮٮهم ٮحٮود لا ڡٮل لهم ٮها ولٮحرحٮهم مٮها ادله وهم صعروں

He said: "O court, which of you will bring me her edifice before they come to me true to God alone?"

ڡال ٮاٮها الملوا اٮكم ٮاٮٮٮى ٮعرسها ڡٮل اں ٮاٮوٮى مسلمٮں

An ifrit among the Occulted said: "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place; and I am surely strong for it, and trustworthy."

ڡال عڡرٮٮ مں الحں اٮا اٮٮك ٮه ڡٮل اں ٮڡوم مں مڡامك واٮى علٮه لڡوى امٮں

and whoever disowns, my Guardian is indeed Self-Sufficient, Generous."

ومں كڡر ڡاں رٮى عٮى كرٮم

He said: "Make her edifice unrecognizable to her; we shall look into whether she lets herself be guided, or is among those who do not let themselves be guided."

ڡال ٮكروا لها عرسها ٮٮطر اٮهٮدى ام ٮكوں مں الدٮں لا ٮهٮدوں

And knowledge had been given to us before her, and we were true to God alone."

واوٮٮٮا العلم مں ڡٮلها وكٮا مسلمٮں

she belonged to a people who disown.

اٮها كاٮٮ مں ڡوم كڡرٮں

She said: "My Guardian, I have indeed wronged myself, and I am true, with Sulayman, to God, Guardian of all beings."

ڡالٮ رٮ اٮى طلمٮ ٮڡسى واسلمٮ مع سلٮمں لله رٮ العلمٮں

We certainly sent to the Thamud their brother Salih: "Obey God"; and behold, two fractions quarreling.

ولڡد ارسلٮا الى ٮمود احاهم صلحا اں اعٮدوا الله ڡادا هم ڡرٮڡاں ٮحٮصموں

He said: "O my people, why do you seek to hasten evil before good? Will you not seek God's forgiveness, in the hope that He may show you benevolence?"

ڡال ٮڡوم لم ٮسٮعحلوں ٮالسٮٮه ڡٮل الحسٮه لولا ٮسٮعڡروں الله لعلكم ٮرحموں

you are rather a people being tried."

ٮل اٮٮم ڡوم ٮڡٮٮوں

And there were in the Capital nine individuals who sowed corruption on the earth and made nothing sound.

وكاں ڡى المدٮٮه ٮسعه رهط ٮڡسدوں ڡى الارص ولا ٮصلحوں

They said: "Swear to one another by God that we will attack him by night, him and his family, then we will certainly say to his legal guardian: 'We did not witness the annihilation of his family, and we are surely veracious.'"

ڡالوا ٮڡاسموا ٮالله لٮٮٮٮٮه واهله ٮم لٮڡولں لولٮه ما سهدٮا مهلك اهله واٮا لصدڡوں

And they plotted a plot, and We plotted a plot, without their sensing it.

ومكروا مكرا ومكرٮا مكرا وهم لا ٮسعروں

We destroyed them, and their people, all together.

اٮا دمرٮهم وڡومهم احمعٮں

There is surely in that a sign for a people who know.

اں ڡى دلك لاٮه لڡوم ٮعلموں

And We saved those who had believed and guarded themselves.

واٮحٮٮا الدٮں امٮوا وكاٮوا ٮٮڡوں

And Lut, when he said to his people: "Do you commit indecency while you see clearly?

ولوطا اد ڡال لڡومه اٮاٮوں الڡحسه واٮٮم ٮٮصروں

You are rather an ignorant people."

ٮل اٮٮم ڡوم ٮحهلوں

they are men who want to purify themselves."

اٮهم اٮاس ٮٮطهروں

So We saved him, and his family, except his wife; We had determined that she would be among those who linger behind.

ڡاٮحٮٮه واهله الا امراٮه ڡدرٮها مں العٮرٮں

how evil was the rain of those who had been warned!

ڡسا مطر المٮدرٮں

Is God better, or what you associate?"

الله حٮر اما ٮسركوں

They are rather a people who set up equals.

ٮل هم ڡوم ٮعدلوں

But most of them do not know.

ٮل اكٮرهم لا ٮعلموں

How little you remember!

ڡلٮلا ما ٮدكروں

God is far above what they associate with Him!

ٮعلى الله عما ٮسركوں

Say: "Bring your demonstration, if you are veracious."

ڡل هاٮوا ٮرهٮكم اں كٮٮم صدڡٮں

and they do not sense when they will be raised."

وما ٮسعروں اٮاں ٮٮعٮوں

they are rather in doubt about it, they are rather blind to it.

ٮل هم ڡى سك مٮها ٮل هم مٮها عموں

And those who disown said: "When we are earth, we and our ancestors, will we really be brought out?

وڡال الدٮں كڡروا ادا كٮا ٮرٮا واٮاوٮا اٮٮا لمحرحوں

these are nothing but legends of the ancients."

اں هدا الا اسطٮر الاولٮں

Say: "Travel the earth, and see what was the end of the severed."

ڡل سٮروا ڡى الارص ڡاٮطروا كٮڡ كاں عڡٮه المحرمٮں

And do not grieve over them, and do not be constrained because of what they plot.

ولا ٮحرں علٮهم ولا ٮكں ڡى صٮٯ مما ٮمكروں

And they say: "When will this promise be, if you are veracious?"

وٮڡولوں مٮى هدا الوعد اں كٮٮم صدڡٮں

Say: "It may be that some of what you seek to hasten is very close behind you."

ڡل عسى اں ٮكوں ردڡ لكم ٮعص الدى ٮسٮعحلوں

but most of them are not grateful.

ولكں اكٮرهم لا ٮسكروں

And your Guardian surely knows what their chests shelter and what they disclose.

واں رٮك لٮعلم ما ٮكں صدورهم وما ٮعلٮوں

And there is nothing, in the sky and the earth, that escapes the senses without being in an explicit register.

وما مں عاٮٮه ڡى السما والارص الا ڡى كٮٮ مٮٮں

This Recitation relates to the Sons of Israel most of what they differ about.

اں هدا الڡراں ٮڡص على ٮٮى اسرٮل اكٮر الدى هم ڡٮه ٮحٮلڡوں

And it is surely guidance and benevolence for the believers.

واٮه لهدى ورحمه للمومٮٮں

and it is He, the All-Powerful, the All-Knowing.

وهو العرٮر العلٮم

for you are upon the explicit truth.

اٮك على الحٯ المٮٮں

You do not make the dead hear, nor do you make the deaf hear the call, when they turn their backs in retreat.

اٮك لا ٮسمع الموٮى ولا ٮسمع الصم الدعا ادا ولوا مدٮرٮں

you make hear only him who believes in Our signs, and those are true to God alone.

اں ٮسمع الا مں ٮومں ٮاٮٮٮا ڡهم مسلموں

because men had no certainty regarding Our signs.

اں الٮاس كاٮوا ٮاٮٮٮا لا ٮوڡٮوں

And the day when We gather, from every community, a crowd among those who deny Our signs, they will be marshaled in columns,

وٮوم ٮحسر مں كل امه ڡوحا ممں ٮكدٮ ٮاٮٮٮا ڡهم ٮورعوں

Or what were you doing?"

امادا كٮٮم ٮعملوں

And the saying will be fulfilled against them because of their wrongdoing, and they will utter nothing.

ووڡع الڡول علٮهم ٮما طلموا ڡهم لا ٮٮطڡوں

There are surely in that signs for a people who believe.

اں ڡى دلك لاٮٮ لڡوم ٮومٮوں

and all will come to Him, abased.

وكل اٮوه دحرٮں

He is Intimately Acquainted with what you do.

اٮه حٮٮر ٮما ٮڡعلوں

Whoever comes with good will have better than it, and those will be, that day, safe from fright.

مں حا ٮالحسٮه ڡله حٮر مٮها وهم مں ڡرع ٮومٮد امٮوں

Will you be recompensed otherwise than according to what you used to do?

هل ٮحروں الا ما كٮٮم ٮعملوں

"I have only been ordered to obey the Guardian of this land, which He has made inviolable, and to whom belongs everything;

اٮما امرٮ اں اعٮد رٮ هده الٮلده الدى حرمها وله كل سى

and whoever goes astray, say then: "I am only one of the warners."

ومں صل ڡڡل اٮما اٮا مں المٮدرٮں

And your Guardian is not heedless of what you do.

وما رٮك ٮعڡل عما ٮعملوں
