Al-Muzzammil
The Wrapped One
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. O you who are wrapped up! Stand the night, except a little — half of it, or subtract from it a little, or add to it — and recite the Recitation with measured, distinct recitation.
ٮسم الله الرحمں الرحٮم ٮاٮها المرمل ڡم الٮل الا ڡلٮلا ٮصڡه او اٮڡص مٮه ڡلٮلا او رد علٮه ورٮل الڡراں ٮرٮٮلا
Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy saying.
اٮا سٮلڡى علٮك ڡولا ٮڡٮلا
The rising of the night is firmer in impact and more upright in saying.
اں ٮاسٮه الٮل هى اسد وطا واڡوم ڡٮلا
You have during the day a long swim.
اں لك ڡى الٮهار سٮحا طوٮلا
And remember the name of your Guardian and give yourself over to Him, fully.
وادكر اسم رٮك وٮٮٮل الٮه ٮٮٮٮلا
Guardian of the east and the west;
رٮ المسرٯ والمعرٮ
there is no deity but Him;
لا اله الا هو
so take Him as a trustee.
ڡاٮحده وكٮلا
And be patient with what they say
واصٮر على ما ٮڡولوں
and avoid them with gracious avoidance.
واهحرهم هحرا حمٮلا
And leave Me with the deniers, those in well-being, and grant them a little respite.
ودرٮى والمكدٮٮں اولى الٮعمه ومهلهم ڡلٮلا
Indeed, with Us are shackles and a Blaze, and food that chokes, and a painful punishment — on the Day the earth and the mountains will quake, and the mountains will become a heap of poured-out sand.
اں لدٮٮا اٮكالا وححٮما وطعاما دا عصه وعداٮا الٮما ٮوم ٮرحڡ الارص والحٮال وكاٮٮ الحٮال كٮٮٮا مهٮلا
We have sent to you a messenger as a witness upon you, just as We sent to Fir'awn a messenger. But Fir'awn disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure.
اٮا ارسلٮا الٮكم رسولا سهدا علٮكم كما ارسلٮا الى ڡرعوں رسولا ڡعصى ڡرعوں الرسول ڡاحدٮه احدا وٮٮلا
Then how, if you disown, will you guard yourselves against a Day that will turn children gray-haired, a Day when the sky itself will be rent asunder?
ڡكٮڡ ٮٮڡوں اں كڡرٮم ٮوما ٮحعل الولدں سٮٮا السما مٮڡطر ٮه
His promise is always a thing done.
كاں وعده مڡعولا
This is a reminder.
اں هده ٮدكره
So whoever wants may take, toward his Guardian, a way.
ڡمں سا اٮحد الى رٮه سٮٮلا
Your Guardian knows that you stand a little less than two-thirds of the night, and of half of it, and of a third of it, as do a group of those with you.
اں رٮك ٮعلم اٮك ٮڡوم ادٮى مں ٮلٮى الٮل وٮصڡه وٮلٮه وطاٮڡه مں الدٮں معك
And God determines the night and the day.
والله ٮڡدر الٮل والٮهار
He knows that you will never enumerate it, so He has turned toward you with clemency.
علم اں لں ٮحصوه ڡٮاٮ علٮكم
So read what is feasible of the Recitation.
ڡاڡروا ما ٮٮسر مں الڡراں
He knows that there will be among you those who are sick, and others traveling through the land seeking the favor of God, and others fighting in the way of God.
علم اں سٮكوں مٮكم مرصى واحروں ٮصرٮوں ڡى الارص ٮٮٮعوں مں ڡصل الله واحروں ٮڡٮلوں ڡى سٮٮل الله
So read what is feasible from it,
ڡاڡروا ما ٮٮسر مٮه
and maintain the Contact, and give pure liberality,
واڡٮموا الصلوه واٮوا الركوه
and make God a beautiful loan.
واڡرصوا الله ڡرصا حسٮا
And whatever good you advance for yourselves, you will find it with God, better and more immense in reward.
وما ٮڡدموا لاٮڡسكم مں حٮر ٮحدوه عٮد الله هو حٮرا واعطم احرا
And ask God's forgiveness;
واسٮعڡروا الله
God is indeed Most-Forgiving, Benevolent.
