Ar-Ra'd

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Alif. Lam. Mim. Ra.

ٮسم الله الرحمں الرحٮم المر

These are the signs of the Scripture.

ٮلك اٮٮ الكٮٮ

And what has been sent down to you from your Guardian is the truth,

والدى اٮرل الٮك مں رٮك الحٯ

God is the One who elevated the heavens without pillars

الله الدى رڡع السموٮ ٮعٮر عمد

that you can see;

ٮروٮها

then He established Himself upon the Edifice;

ٮم اسٮوى على العرس

and He has subjected the sun and the moon,

وسحر السمس والڡمر

each running to an appointed term.

كل ٮحرى لاحل مسمى

He governs the Order,

ٮدٮر الامر

And it is He who spread out the earth, and placed upon it firm anchors and rivers;

وهو الدى مد الارص وحعل ڡٮها روسى واٮهرا

and of all the fruits, He placed therein two elements of a pair,

ومں كل الٮمرٮ حعل ڡٮها روحٮں اٮٮٮں

He covers the day with the night.

ٮعسى الٮل الٮهار

And on the earth, there are neighboring plots, gardens of vines, crops, palms clustered or standing alone, watered by the same water,

وڡى الارص ڡطع مٮحورٮ وحٮٮ مں اعٮٮ وررع وٮحٮل صٮواں وعٮر صٮواں ٮسڡى ٮما وحد

and We favor some of them over others in their fare.

وٮڡصل ٮعصها على ٮعص ڡى الاكل

And if you marvel, marvelous is their saying: "When we are earth, shall we really be in a new creation?"

واں ٮعحٮ ڡعحٮ ڡولهم ادا كٮا ٮرٮا اٮا لڡى حلٯ حدٮد

Those are the ones who disown their Guardian,

اولٮك الدٮں كڡروا ٮرٮهم

those are the ones who will have shackles around their necks,

واولٮك الاعلل ڡى اعٮاڡهم

And they ask you to hasten evil before good, though exemplary precedents have already passed before them.

وٮسٮعحلوٮك ٮالسٮٮه ڡٮل الحسٮه وڡد حلٮ مں ڡٮلهم المٮلٮ

And your Guardian is surely possessed of forgiveness for mankind, despite their wrongdoing;

واں رٮك لدو معڡره للٮاس على طلمهم

And those who disown say: "Why has a sign not been sent down upon him from his Guardian?"

وٮڡول الدٮں كڡروا لولا اٮرل علٮه اٮه مں رٮه

You are, yourself, only a warner,

اٮما اٮٮ مٮدر

God knows what every female carries, and what the wombs reabsorb and what they increase;

الله ٮعلم ما ٮحمل كل اٮٮى وما ٮعٮص الارحام وما ٮرداد

The Knower of what escapes the senses and of what is witnessed,

علم العٮٮ والسهده

He has, before him and behind him, relaying watchers, preserving him by God's command.

له معڡٮٮ مں ٮٮں ٮدٮه ومں حلڡه ٮحڡطوٮه مں امر الله

God indeed does not change what is in a people until they change what is in themselves;

اں الله لا ٮعٮر ما ٮڡوم حٮى ٮعٮروا ما ٮاٮڡسهم

and when God wants harm for a people, nothing can turn it back,

وادا اراد الله ٮڡوم سوا ڡلا مرد له

It is He who shows you the lightning, feared and hoped for, and who brings into being the heavy clouds; and the thunder glorifies Him in praise, as do the Agents, out of fear of Him;

هو الدى ٮرٮكم الٮرٯ حوڡا وطمعا وٮٮسى السحاٮ الٮڡال وٮسٮح الرعد ٮحمده والملٮكه مں حٮڡٮه

To Him belongs the call of truth;

له دعوه الحٯ

and those they invoke besides Him respond to them in nothing, except like one who stretches out his palms toward water so that it may reach his mouth, never reaching it.

والدٮں ٮدعوں مں دوٮه لا ٮسٮحٮٮوں لهم ٮسى الا كٮسط كڡٮه الى الما لٮٮلع ڡاه وما هو ٮٮلعه

Say: "Who is the Guardian of the heavens and the earth?" Say: "God."

ڡل مں رٮ السموٮ والارص ڡل الله

Say: "Have you then taken, besides Him, allies who hold for themselves neither profit nor harm?"

ڡل اڡاٮحدٮم مں دوٮه اولٮا لا ٮملكوں لاٮڡسهم ٮڡعا ولا صرا

Say: "Are the blind and the seeing equal?

ڡل هل ٮسٮوى الاعمى والٮصٮر

Or are the darknesses and the light equal?"

ام هل ٮسٮوى الطلمٮ والٮور

Or have they assigned to God associates who created as He creates, to the point that creation, in their eyes, would lend itself to resemblance?

ام حعلوا لله سركا حلڡوا كحلڡه ڡٮسٮه الحلٯ علٮهم

Say: "God is the Creator of all things,

ڡل الله حلٯ كل سى

He has sent down from the sky a water, and valleys spilled forth according to their measure, and the torrent carried a swollen froth;

اٮرل مں السما ما ڡسالٮ اودٮه ٮڡدرها ڡاحٮمل السٮل رٮدا راٮٮا

and of what is heated in the fire, seeking an ornament or a use, there is likewise a froth.

ومما ٮوڡدوں علٮه ڡى الٮار اٮٮعا حلٮه او مٮع رٮد مٮله

Thus does God multiply truth and falsehood:

كدلك ٮصرٮ الله الحٯ والٮطل

the froth goes off as scum,

ڡاما الرٮد ڡٮدهٮ حڡا

while what is useful to men remains on the earth.

واما ما ٮٮڡع الٮاس ڡٮمكٮ ڡى الارص

To those who respond to their Guardian belongs the best;

للدٮں اسٮحاٮوا لرٮهم الحسٮى

and those who do not respond to Him, if they possessed all that is on the earth, and its equivalent with it, they would give it as ransom.

والدٮں لم ٮسٮحٮٮوا له لو اں لهم ما ڡى الارص حمٮعا ومٮله معه لاڡٮدوا ٮه

Those are the ones who will have the worst of reckonings,

اولٮك لهم سو الحساٮ

and their refuge will be Jahannam:

وماوٮهم حهٮم

Only the possessors of intelligence remember, those who are faithful to God's pact and do not break the solemn engagement, those who join what God has commanded to be joined, dread their Guardian and fear the worst of reckonings, those who were patient seeking the direction of their Guardian, maintained the Contact, spent from what We provided them, secretly and openly, and push back evil with good.

اٮما ٮٮدكر اولوا الالٮٮ الدٮں ٮوڡوں ٮعهد الله ولا ٮٮڡصوں المٮٮٯ والدٮں ٮصلوں ما امر الله ٮه اں ٮوصل وٮحسوں رٮهم وٮحاڡوں سو الحساٮ والدٮں صٮروا اٮٮعا وحه رٮهم واڡاموا الصلوه واٮڡڡوا مما ررڡٮهم سرا وعلاٮٮه وٮدروں ٮالحسٮه السٮٮه

the Gardens of permanence, which they will enter, along with those who were sound among their fathers, their spouses, and their descendants,

حٮٮ عدں ٮدحلوٮها ومں صلح مں اٮاٮهم واروحهم ودرٮٮهم

"Peace be upon you, because you were patient!"

سلم علٮكم ٮما صٮرٮم

God extends provision to whom He wills, and measures it:

الله ٮٮسط الررٯ لمں ٮسا وٮڡدر

and they rejoice in the present life,

وڡرحوا ٮالحٮوه الدٮٮا

And those who disown say: "Why has a sign not been sent down upon him from his Guardian?"

وٮڡول الدٮں كڡروا لولا اٮرل علٮه اٮه مں رٮه

those who believe and whose cores are calmed by the remembrance of God.

الدٮں امٮوا وٮطمٮں ڡلوٮهم ٮدكر الله

Thus We have sent you within a community before which other communities have already passed, so that you may recite to them what We have revealed to you, while they disown the All-Benevolent.

كدلك ارسلٮك ڡى امه ڡد حلٮ مں ڡٮلها امم لٮٮلوا علٮهم الدى اوحٮٮا الٮك وهم ٮكڡروں ٮالرحمں

Say: "He is my Guardian;

ڡل هو رٮى

there is no deity but Him;

لا اله الا هو

And even if there were a Recitation by which the mountains were set in motion, or the earth split, or the dead spoken to…

ولو اں ڡراٮا سٮرٮ ٮه الحٮال او ڡطعٮ ٮه الارص او كلم ٮه الموٮى

But to God belongs the command, entirely:

ٮل لله الامر حمٮعا

have those who believe not realized that, if God willed, He would guide all mankind?

اڡلم ٮاٮس الدٮں امٮوا اں لو ٮسا الله لهدى الٮاس حمٮعا

And those who disown will not cease to be struck, for what they have done, by a sudden crash, or it will alight near their abode, until God's promise comes:

ولا ٮرال الدٮں كڡروا ٮصٮٮهم ٮما صٮعوا ڡارعه او ٮحل ڡرٮٮا مں دارهم حٮى ٮاٮى وعد الله

And messengers before you were indeed mocked; I then granted a delay to those who disowned, then I seized them:

ولڡد اسٮهرى ٮرسل مں ڡٮلك ڡاملٮٮ للدٮں كڡروا ٮم احدٮهم

Is He who watches over every Self, according to what it has earned?

اڡمں هو ڡاٮم على كل ٮڡس ٮما كسٮٮ

And they have assigned associates to God. Say: "Name them!

وحعلوا لله سركا ڡل سموهم

Or do you inform Him of what He does not know on the earth, or of an apparent saying?"

ام ٮٮٮوٮه ٮما لا ٮعلم ڡى الارص ام ٮطهر مں الڡول

It is nothing of the sort: their plot has been embellished for those who disown, and they have been barred from the way.

ٮل رٮں للدٮں كڡروا مكرهم وصدوا عں السٮٮل

There is for them a punishment in the present life,

لهم عداٮ ڡى الحٮوه الدٮٮا

but the punishment of the last life is even more grievous,

ولعداٮ الاحره اسٯ

The example of the Garden promised to those who guard themselves: rivers flow beneath it, its fare is constant, as is its shade —

مٮل الحٮه الٮى وعد المٮڡوں ٮحرى مں ٮحٮها الاٮهر اكلها داٮم وطلها

such is the outcome of those who guarded themselves,

ٮلك عڡٮى الدٮں اٮڡوا

And those to whom We gave the Scripture rejoice at what has been sent down to you,

والدٮں اٮٮٮهم الكٮٮ ٮڡرحوں ٮما اٮرل الٮك

but there are, among the parties, those who disavow part of it.

ومں الاحراٮ مں ٮٮكر ٮعصه

Say: "I have only been commanded to obey God, and to associate nothing with Him:

ڡل اٮما امرٮ اں اعٮد الله ولا اسرك ٮه

it is to Him that I call,

الٮه ادعوا

And thus We have sent it down, as a flawless judgment:

وكدلك اٮرلٮه حكما عرٮٮا

We have indeed sent messengers before you, and made spouses and descendants for them;

ولڡد ارسلٮا رسلا مں ڡٮلك وحعلٮا لهم اروحا ودرٮه

and it is not for any messenger to bring a sign except by God's permission.

وما كاں لرسول اں ٮاٮى ٮاٮه الا ٮادں الله

God blots out what He wills, and He makes firm,

ٮمحوا الله ما ٮسا وٮٮٮٮ

Have they not seen that We come to the earth, diminishing it from its extremities?

اولم ٮروا اٮا ٮاٮى الارص ٮٮڡصها مں اطراڡها

God judges, and none can revise His judgment:

والله ٮحكم لا معڡٮ لحكمه

And those before them indeed plotted, but to God belongs the whole plot:

وڡد مكر الدٮں مں ڡٮلهم ڡلله المكر حمٮعا

He knows what every Self earns,

ٮعلم ما ٮكسٮ كل ٮڡس

And those who disown say: "You are not sent."

وٮڡول الدٮں كڡروا لسٮ مرسلا
