Al-Jathiya
Emotion Taken as a Deity
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Ḥa. Mim.
ٮسم الله الرحمں الرحٮم حم
The descent of the Scripture comes from God, the All-Powerful, the Wise.
ٮٮرٮل الكٮٮ مں الله العرٮر الحكٮم
Surely, in the heavens and the earth are signs for the believers.
اں ڡى السموٮ والارص لاٮٮ للمومٮٮں
And in your creation, and in the living beings He spreads, are signs for a people who have certainty; and in the alternation of night and day, in the provision God sends down from the sky and by which He brings the earth back to life after its death, and in the diversity of the winds, are signs for a people who reason.
وڡى حلڡكم وما ٮٮٮ مں داٮه اٮٮ لڡوم ٮوڡٮوں واحٮلڡ الٮل والٮهار وما اٮرل الله مں السما مں ررٯ ڡاحٮا ٮه الارص ٮعد موٮها وٮصرٮڡ الرٮح اٮٮ لڡوم ٮعڡلوں
Those are the signs of God, which We recite to you in truth.
ٮلك اٮٮ الله ٮٮلوها علٮك ٮالحٯ
So in what discourse, after God and His signs, will they believe?
ڡٮاى حدٮٮ ٮعد الله واٮٮه ٮومٮوں
Woe to every transgressive distorter, who hears the signs of God recited to him, then persists, growing proud, as if he had not heard them.
وٮل لكل اڡاك اٮٮم ٮسمع اٮٮ الله ٮٮلى علٮه ٮم ٮصر مسٮكٮرا كاں لم ٮسمعها
So give him news of a painful punishment.
ڡٮسره ٮعداٮ الٮم
And when he learns something of Our signs, he takes them in mockery.
وادا علم مں اٮٮٮا سٮا اٮحدها هروا
Those are the ones who will have a degrading punishment.
اولٮك لهم عداٮ مهٮں
Behind them is Jahannam; and what they earned will not avail them at all, nor will what they took as allies besides God.
مں وراٮهم حهٮم ولا ٮعٮى عٮهم ما كسٮوا سٮا ولا ما اٮحدوا مں دوں الله اولٮا
And they will have an immense punishment.
ولهم عداٮ عطٮم
This is guidance,
هدا هدى
and those who disown the signs of their Guardian will have a punishment of painful defilement.
والدٮں كڡروا ٮاٮٮ رٮهم لهم عداٮ مں رحر الٮم
God is the One who subjected the sea for you, so that vessels may sail upon it by His command, and so that you may seek of His favor, and perhaps you will be grateful.
الله الدى سحر لكم الٮحر لٮحرى الڡلك ڡٮه ٮامره ولٮٮٮعوا مں ڡصله ولعلكم ٮسكروں
And He subjected for you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, all of it from Him.
وسحر لكم ما ڡى السموٮ وما ڡى الارص حمٮعا مٮه
There are surely in that signs for a people who reflect.
اں ڡى دلك لاٮٮ لڡوم ٮٮڡكروں
Tell those who believe to forgive those who do not hope for the days of God, so that He may recompense a people for what they used to earn.
ڡل للدٮں امٮوا ٮعڡروا للدٮں لا ٮرحوں اٮام الله لٮحرى ڡوما ٮما كاٮوا ٮكسٮوں
Whoever does a sound deed, it is for himself,
مں عمل صلحا ڡلٮڡسه
and whoever does ill, it is against himself,
ومں اسا ڡعلٮها
then to your Guardian you will be returned.
ٮم الى رٮكم ٮرحعوں
We indeed gave the Sons of Israel the Scripture, the judgment, and the charge of informing; We provided them with wholesome things and favored them above all beings; and We gave them clear proofs concerning the Command.
ولڡد اٮٮٮا ٮٮى اسرٮل الكٮٮ والحكم والٮٮوه وررڡٮهم مں الطٮٮٮ وڡصلٮهم على العلمٮں واٮٮٮهم ٮٮٮٮ مں الامر
They did not differ except after knowledge had come to them,
ڡما احٮلڡوا الا مں ٮعد ما حاهم العلم
out of iniquity among themselves.
ٮعٮا ٮٮٮهم
Your Guardian will indeed decide between them, on the Day of Appearance, concerning what they used to differ over.
اں رٮك ٮڡصى ٮٮٮهم ٮوم الڡٮمه ڡٮما كاٮوا ڡٮه ٮحٮلڡوں
Then We placed you upon a legislated way from the Command, so follow it,
ٮم حعلٮك على سرٮعه مں الامر ڡاٮٮعها
and do not follow the emotions of those who do not know.
ولا ٮٮٮع اهوا الدٮں لا ٮعلموں
They will not avail you anything against God,
اٮهم لں ٮعٮوا عٮك مں الله سٮا
and indeed the wrongdoers are allies of one another,
واں الطلمٮں ٮعصهم اولٮا ٮعص
while God is the protector of those who guard themselves.
والله ولى المٮڡٮں
These are insights for mankind, and guidance and benevolence for a people who have certainty.
هدا ٮصٮر للٮاس وهدى ورحمه لڡوم ٮوڡٮوں
Or do those who have perpetrated evil deeds think that We will make them like those who have believed and done sound deeds, equal in their life and their death?
ام حسٮ الدٮں احٮرحوا السٮاٮ اں ٮحعلهم كالدٮں امٮوا وعملوا الصلحٮ سوا محٮاهم ومماٮهم
How evil is what they decide!
سا ما ٮحكموں
And God created the heavens and the earth in truth,
وحلٯ الله السموٮ والارص ٮالحٯ
and so that every Self may be recompensed for what it earned, and they will not be wronged.
ولٮحرى كل ٮڡس ٮما كسٮٮ وهم لا ٮطلموں
Have you seen the one who has taken his emotion as his deity? God knowingly led him astray, and sealed his hearing and his core, and placed a cover over his sight. Who then will guide him after God?
اڡرٮٮ مں اٮحد الهه هوٮه واصله الله على علم وحٮم على سمعه وڡلٮه وحعل على ٮصره عسوه ڡمں ٮهدٮه مں ٮعد الله
Will you not then remember?
اڡلا ٮدكروں
And they said: "There is nothing but our present life; we die and we live, and nothing annihilates us but time."
وڡالوا ما هى الا حٮاٮٮا الدٮٮا ٮموٮ وٮحٮا وما ٮهلكٮا الا الدهر
They have no knowledge of that,
وما لهم ٮدلك مں علم
they only presume.
اں هم الا ٮطٮوں
And when Our clear signs are recited to them, their only argument is to say: "Bring back our forefathers, if you are veracious."
وادا ٮٮلى علٮهم اٮٮٮا ٮٮٮٮ ما كاں ححٮهم الا اں ڡالوا اٮٮوا ٮاٮاٮٮا اں كٮٮم صدڡٮں
Say: "God gives you life, then causes you to die, then He will bring you together on the Day of Appearance, about which there is no doubt,
ڡل الله ٮحٮٮكم ٮم ٮمٮٮكم ٮم ٮحمعكم الى ٮوم الڡٮمه لا رٮٮ ڡٮه
but most men do not know."
ولكں اكٮر الٮاس لا ٮعلموں
And to God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth,
ولله ملك السموٮ والارص
and on the day the Hour rises, that day the workers of falsehood will lose.
وٮوم ٮڡوم الساعه ٮومٮد ٮحسر المٮطلوں
And you will see every community on its knees,
وٮرى كل امه حاٮٮه
every community will be called to its record.
كل امه ٮدعى الى كٮٮها
"Today you are recompensed for what you used to do."
الٮوم ٮحروں ما كٮٮم ٮعملوں
"This is Our record; it utters about you the truth.
هدا كٮٮٮا ٮٮطٯ علٮكم ٮالحٯ
We were indeed having transcribed what you used to do."
اٮا كٮا ٮسٮٮسح ما كٮٮم ٮعملوں
As for those who believed and did sound deeds, their Guardian will admit them into His benevolence;
ڡاما الدٮں امٮوا وعملوا الصلحٮ ڡٮدحلهم رٮهم ڡى رحمٮه
that is the manifest triumph.
دلك هو الڡور المٮٮں
And as for those who disowned: "Were not My signs recited to you? But you grew proud and were a severed people."
واما الدٮں كڡروا اڡلم ٮكں اٮٮى ٮٮلى علٮكم ڡاسٮكٮرٮم وكٮٮم ڡوما محرمٮں
And when it was said: "Indeed the promise of God is true, and the Hour, no doubt about it," you said: "We have no idea what the Hour is; we only presume, and we are not certain."
وادا ڡٮل اں وعد الله حٯ والساعه لا رٮٮ ڡٮها ڡلٮم ما ٮدرى ما الساعه اں ٮطں الا طٮا وما ٮحں ٮمسٮٮڡٮٮں
And the evil consequences of what they did will appear to them,
وٮدا لهم سٮاٮ ما عملوا
and what they used to mock will envelop them.
وحاٯ ٮهم ما كاٮوا ٮه ٮسٮهروں
And it will be said: "Today We forget you, as you forgot the meeting of this your day; your refuge is the Fire, and you will have no help."
وڡٮل الٮوم ٮٮسٮكم كما ٮسٮٮم لڡا ٮومكم هدا وماوٮكم الٮار وما لكم مں ٮصرٮں
"That is because you took the signs of God in mockery, and the present life deluded you."
دلكم ٮاٮكم اٮحدٮم اٮٮ الله هروا وعرٮكم الحٮوه الدٮٮا
So today they will not be taken out of it, nor will they be asked to make amends.
ڡالٮوم لا ٮحرحوں مٮها ولا هم ٮسٮعٮٮوں
So to God belongs praise, Guardian of the heavens and Guardian of the earth, Guardian of all beings.
ڡلله الحمد رٮ السموٮ ورٮ الارص رٮ العلمٮں
And to Him belongs greatness in the heavens and the earth,
وله الكٮرٮا ڡى السموٮ والارص
and He is the All-Powerful, the Wise.
وهو العرٮر الحكٮم
