At-Tur

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. By the Mount! By a written record, on a deployed parchment! By the Frequented House! By the elevated roof! By the sea set aboil! The punishment of your Guardian will, surely, befall —

ٮسم الله الرحمں الرحٮم والطور وكٮٮ مسطور ڡى رٯ مٮسور والٮٮٮ المعمور والسڡڡ المرڡوع والٮحر المسحور اں عداٮ رٮك لوڡع

nothing can repel it.

ما له مں داڡع

The day the sky will be shaken with violent turbulence, and the mountains will set forth in motion —

ٮوم ٮمور السما مورا وٮسٮر الحٮال سٮرا

woe, that Day, to the deniers, those who play in vain talk.

ڡوٮل ٮومٮد للمكدٮٮں الدٮں هم ڡى حوص ٮلعٮوں

The day they will be pushed violently toward the fire of Jahannam,

ٮوم ٮدعوں الى ٮار حهٮم دعا

"This is the Fire you used to deny.

هده الٮار الٮى كٮٮم ٮها ٮكدٮوں

Is this, then, an illusion, or do you not see clearly?

اڡسحر هدا ام اٮٮم لا ٮٮصروں

You are only recompensed for what you used to do."

اٮما ٮحروں ما كٮٮم ٮعملوں

and their Guardian has protected them from the punishment of the Blaze.

ووڡٮهم رٮهم عداٮ الححٮم

"Eat and drink pleasantly, for what you used to do," reclining on aligned couches; and We paired them with companions of listening and support.

كلوا واسرٮوا هٮٮا ٮما كٮٮم ٮعملوں مٮكٮں على سرر مصڡوڡه وروحٮهم ٮحور عٮں

Every person is a pledge for what they have earned.

كل امرى ٮما كسٮ رهٮں

And We will provide them with savoury fruit and flesh, of what they desire; they will pass among themselves a cup wherein there is neither idle talk nor incitement to transgression.

وامددٮهم ٮڡكهه ولحم مما ٮسٮهوں ٮٮٮرعوں ڡٮها كاسا لا لعو ڡٮها ولا ٮاٮٮم

And there will circulate among them young boys who belong to them, like well-sheltered pearls.

وٮطوڡ علٮهم علماں لهم كاٮهم لولو مكٮوں

And they will turn to one another, questioning each other,

واڡٮل ٮعصهم على ٮعص ٮٮسالوں

saying: "We were before, among our own, filled with apprehension; God has graced us and protected us from the punishment of the torrid wind.

ڡالوا اٮا كٮا ڡٮل ڡى اهلٮا مسڡڡٮں ڡمں الله علٮٮا ووڡٮٮا عداٮ السموم

We used to call upon Him before: He is indeed the Virtuous, the Benevolent."

اٮا كٮا مں ڡٮل ٮدعوه اٮه هو الٮر الرحٮم

So remind: by the blessing of your Guardian, you are neither a soothsayer nor deranged.

ڡدكر ڡما اٮٮ ٮٮعمٮ رٮك ٮكاهں ولا محٮوں

Or do they say: "A seductive orator, we anticipate for him the blows of fate"?

ام ٮڡولوں ساعر ٮٮرٮص ٮه رٮٮ المٮوں

for I too, with you, am among those who bide their time."

ڡاٮى معكم مں المٮرٮصٮں

Or is it their composure that commands them to this, or are they a people who exceed all measure?

ام ٮامرهم احلمهم ٮهدا ام هم ڡوم طاعوں

Rather, they do not believe.

ٮل لا ٮومٮوں

Let them then bring a discourse like it, if they are veracious!

ڡلٮاٮوا ٮحدٮٮ مٮله اں كاٮوا صدڡٮں

Or were they created out of nothing, or are they themselves the creators?

ام حلڡوا مں عٮر سى ام هم الحلڡوں

They rather have no certainty.

ٮل لا ٮوڡٮوں

Or do they hold the treasuries of your Guardian, or are they the ones who compel?

ام عٮدهم حراٮں رٮك ام هم المصٮطروں

Then let their listener bring a manifest authority!

ڡلٮاٮ مسٮمعهم ٮسلطں مٮٮں

Or would He have daughters, while you would have sons?

ام له الٮٮٮ ولكم الٮٮوں

Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are heavily laden with debt?

ام ٮسلهم احرا ڡهم مں معرم مٮڡلوں

Or do they possess what escapes the senses, so that they write it down?

ام عٮدهم العٮٮ ڡهم ٮكٮٮوں

It is rather those who disown who will be the victims of the scheme.

ڡالدٮں كڡروا هم المكٮدوں

Glory be to God, above what they associate with Him!

سٮحں الله عما ٮسركوں

And if they saw a fragment of the sky tumbling, they would say: "A heap of clouds."

واں ٮروا كسڡا مں السما ساڡطا ٮڡولوا سحاٮ مركوم

So forsake them until they meet their day in which they will be thunderstruck — the day their scheme will not avail them at all, and they will not be helped.

ڡدرهم حٮى ٮلڡوا ٮومهم الدى ڡٮه ٮصعڡوں ٮوم لا ٮعٮى عٮهم كٮدهم سٮا ولا هم ٮٮصروں

but most of them do not know.

ولكں اكٮرهم لا ٮعلموں

And glorify, with praise, your Guardian, when you arise,

وسٮح ٮحمد رٮك حٮں ٮڡوم

and glorify Him during part of the night, and at the fading of the stars.
