Al-An'am
The Guardian of Every Thing
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Praise be to God, who created the heavens and the earth, and made the darknesses and the light; yet those who disown set up equals to their Guardian.
ٮسم الله الرحمں الرحٮم الحمد لله الدى حلٯ السموٮ والارص وحعل الطلمٮ والٮور ٮم الدٮں كڡروا ٮرٮهم ٮعدلوں
It is He who created you from clay, then decreed a term —
هو الدى حلڡكم مں طٮں ٮم ڡصى احلا
and an appointed term, with Him.
واحل مسمى عٮده
Yet still you contend.
ٮم اٮٮم ٮمٮروں
And He is God,
وهو الله
in the heavens and on the earth; He knows your secret and what you say aloud, and He knows what you earn.
ڡى السموٮ وڡى الارص ٮعلم سركم وحهركم وٮعلم ما ٮكسٮوں
No sign, among the signs of their Guardian, comes to them without their turning away from it.
وما ٮاٮٮهم مں اٮه مں اٮٮ رٮهم الا كاٮوا عٮها معرصٮں
So they have denied the truth, when it came to them;
ڡڡد كدٮوا ٮالحٯ لما حاهم
the information of what they used to mock will soon reach them.
ڡسوڡ ٮاٮٮهم اٮٮوا ما كاٮوا ٮه ٮسٮهروں
Do they not see how many generations We annihilated before them, whom We had established on the earth as We have not established you,
الم ٮروا كم اهلكٮا مں ڡٮلهم مں ڡرں مكٮهم ڡى الارص ما لم ٮمكں لكم
and to whom We sent the sky in copious streams,
وارسلٮا السما علٮهم مدرارا
and We made the rivers flow beneath them; then We annihilated them for their offenses,
وحعلٮا الاٮهر ٮحرى مں ٮحٮهم ڡاهلكٮهم ٮدٮوٮهم
and We brought into being, after them, another generation.
واٮساٮا مں ٮعدهم ڡرٮا احرٮں
And had We sent down upon you a writing on parchment, and they had touched it with their hands, those who disown would certainly have said: "This is nothing but a manifest illusion."
ولو ٮرلٮا علٮك كٮٮا ڡى ڡرطاس ڡلمسوه ٮاٮدٮهم لڡال الدٮں كڡروا اں هدا الا سحر مٮٮں
And they say: "Why has an Agent not been sent down upon him!"
وڡالوا لولا اٮرل علٮه ملك
And had We sent down an Agent, the matter would already have been decided, and they would be granted no delay.
ولو اٮرلٮا ملكا لڡصى الامر ٮم لا ٮٮطروں
And had We made him an Agent, We would have made him a man, and We would have blurred for them what they themselves blur.
ولو حعلٮه ملكا لحعلٮه رحلا وللٮسٮا علٮهم ما ٮلٮسوں
Messengers before you were indeed mocked; then what they used to mock enveloped those among them who scoffed.
ولڡد اسٮهرى ٮرسل مں ڡٮلك ڡحاٯ ٮالدٮں سحروا مٮهم ما كاٮوا ٮه ٮسٮهروں
Say: "Travel through the earth, then look at what was the end of those who denied."
ڡل سٮروا ڡى الارص ٮم اٮطروا كٮڡ كاں عڡٮه المكدٮٮں
Say: "To whom belongs what is in the heavens and on the earth?" Say: "To God.
ڡل لمں ما ڡى السموٮ والارص ڡل لله
He has prescribed benevolence upon Himself.
كٮٮ على ٮڡسه الرحمه
He will certainly bring you together on the Day of Appearance, about which there is no doubt.
لٮحمعٮكم الى ٮوم الڡٮمه لا رٮٮ ڡٮه
Those who will have caused the loss of their Selves, those are the ones who do not believe."
الدٮں حسروا اٮڡسهم ڡهم لا ٮومٮوں
And to Him belongs what rests in the night and the day;
وله ما سكں ڡى الٮل والٮهار
and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
وهو السمٮع العلٮم
Say: "Should I take a protector other than God, the Originator of the heavens and the earth,
ڡل اعٮر الله اٮحد ولٮا ڡاطر السموٮ والارص
it is He who feeds and is not fed."
وهو ٮطعم ولا ٮطعم
Say: "I have been commanded to be the first of those who are true to God alone",
ڡل اٮى امرٮ اں اكوں اول مں اسلم
and never be among those who associate.
ولا ٮكوٮں مں المسركٮں
Say: "I indeed fear, if I disobey my Guardian, the punishment of an immense day."
ڡل اٮى احاڡ اں عصٮٮ رٮى عداٮ ٮوم عطٮم
Whoever is turned away from it, on that day, He will have shown him benevolence,
مں ٮصرڡ عٮه ٮومٮد ڡڡد رحمه
and that is the manifest triumph.
ودلك الڡور المٮٮں
And if God touches you with harm, none can remove it but Him;
واں ٮمسسك الله ٮصر ڡلا كاسڡ له الا هو
and if He touches you with good, He is capable of all things.
واں ٮمسسك ٮحٮر ڡهو على كل سى ڡدٮر
He subjugates above His obedient ones,
وهو الڡاهر ڡوٯ عٮاده
and He is the Wise, the Intimately Acquainted.
وهو الحكٮم الحٮٮر
Say: "What thing is greatest in testimony?" Say: "God,
ڡل اى سى اكٮر سهده ڡل الله
witness between me and you.
سهٮد ٮٮٮى وٮٮٮكم
And this Recitation was revealed to me so that I might warn you by it, and whoever it reaches.
واوحى الى هدا الڡراں لاٮدركم ٮه ومں ٮلع
Do you really bear witness that there are, with God, other deities?" Say: "I do not bear witness."
اٮٮكم لٮسهدوں اں مع الله الهه احرى ڡل لا اسهد
Say: "He is only one deity,
ڡل اٮما هو اله وحد
and I am indeed quit of what you associate."
واٮٮى ٮرى مما ٮسركوں
Those to whom We gave the Scripture recognize it as they recognize their own sons;
الدٮں اٮٮٮهم الكٮٮ ٮعرڡوٮه كما ٮعرڡوں اٮٮاهم
those who will have caused the loss of their Selves, those are the ones who do not believe.
الدٮں حسروا اٮڡسهم ڡهم لا ٮومٮوں
And who then does more wrong than one who invents a lie against God, or denies His signs?
ومں اطلم ممں اڡٮرى على الله كدٮا او كدٮ ٮاٮٮه
The wrongdoers indeed do not succeed.
اٮه لا ٮڡلح الطلموں
And the day when We gather them all together, then say to those who associated: "Where are your associates, whom you used to claim?"
وٮوم ٮحسرهم حمٮعا ٮم ٮڡول للدٮں اسركوا اٮں سركاوكم الدٮں كٮٮم ٮرعموں
Then their only trial will have been to say: "By God, our Guardian, we were not among those who associate."
ٮم لم ٮكں ڡٮٮٮهم الا اں ڡالوا والله رٮٮا ما كٮا مسركٮں
Look how they lie against themselves! And what they used to invent will have strayed away from them.
اٮطر كٮڡ كدٮوا على اٮڡسهم وصل عٮهم ما كاٮوا ٮڡٮروں
And among them are some who listen to you,
ومٮهم مں ٮسٮمع الٮك
but We have placed over their cores coverings, so that they do not understand it, and in their ears a deafness.
وحعلٮا على ڡلوٮهم اكٮه اں ٮڡڡهوه وڡى اداٮهم وڡرا
And even if they saw every sign, they would not believe in it,
واں ٮروا كل اٮه لا ٮومٮوا ٮها
to the point that, when they come to you to argue, those who disown say: "These are nothing but legends of the ancients."
حٮى ادا حاوك ٮحدلوٮك ٮڡول الدٮں كڡروا اں هدا الا اسطٮر الاولٮں
And they forbid it, and they draw away from it;
وهم ٮٮهوں عٮه وٮٮوں عٮه
and they annihilate none but themselves, without sensing it.
واں ٮهلكوں الا اٮڡسهم وما ٮسعروں
And if you could see, when they will be halted before the Fire, and say: "Ah, if only we were sent back,
ولو ٮرى اد وڡڡوا على الٮار ڡڡالوا ٮلٮٮٮا ٮرد
and we will no longer deny the signs of our Guardian, and we will be among the believers!"
ولا ٮكدٮ ٮاٮٮ رٮٮا وٮكوں مں المومٮٮں
No! What they used to hide before has become apparent to them.
ٮل ٮدا لهم ما كاٮوا ٮحڡوں مں ڡٮل
And were they sent back, they would certainly return to what they had been forbidden,
ولو ردوا لعادوا لما ٮهوا عٮه
and they are surely liars.
واٮهم لكدٮوں
And they say: "There is nothing but our present life, and we will not be raised."
وڡالوا اں هى الا حٮاٮٮا الدٮٮا وما ٮحں ٮمٮعوٮٮں
And if you could see, when they will be halted before their Guardian! He will say: "Is this not the truth?"
ولو ٮرى اد وڡڡوا على رٮهم ڡال الٮس هدا ٮالحٯ
They will say: "Yes, by our Guardian!"
ڡالوا ٮلى ورٮٮا
He will say: "Taste then the punishment, for having disowned."
ڡال ڡدوڡوا العداٮ ٮما كٮٮم ٮكڡروں
They are indeed losers, those who have denied the meeting with God, to the point that, when the Hour comes upon them unexpectedly, they say: "What desolation for us, for what we neglected in it!" They will bear their burdens on their backs.
ڡد حسر الدٮں كدٮوا ٮلڡا الله حٮى ادا حاٮهم الساعه ٮعٮه ڡالوا ٮحسرٮٮا على ما ڡرطٮا ڡٮها وهم ٮحملوں اورارهم على طهورهم
How evil is the burden they bear!
الا سا ما ٮرروں
The present life is nothing but play and distraction;
وما الحٮوه الدٮٮا الا لعٮ ولهو
and the last abode is indeed better for those who guard themselves.
وللدار الاحره حٮر للدٮں ٮٮڡوں
Will you not then reason?
اڡلا ٮعڡلوں
We will indeed know that what they say surely grieves you;
ڡد ٮعلم اٮه لٮحرٮك الدى ٮڡولوں
but it is not you they deny,
ڡاٮهم لا ٮكدٮوٮك
but it is the signs of God that the wrongdoers stubbornly reject.
ولكں الطلمٮں ٮاٮٮ الله ٮححدوں
Messengers were indeed denied before you; denied and troubled, they endured until Our help came to them.
ولڡد كدٮٮ رسل مں ڡٮلك ڡصٮروا على ما كدٮوا واودوا حٮى اٮٮهم ٮصرٮا
And none can change the words of God.
ولا مٮدل لكلمٮ الله
Some of the information about the envoys has indeed already reached you.
ولڡد حاك مں ٮٮاى المرسلٮں
And if their turning away weighs upon you, then, if you have the capacity, seek a tunnel into the earth, or a ladder into the sky, to bring them a sign.
واں كاں كٮر علٮك اعراصهم ڡاں اسٮطعٮ اں ٮٮٮعى ٮڡڡا ڡى الارص او سلما ڡى السما ڡٮاٮٮهم ٮاٮه
And had God willed, He would have brought them together upon guidance;
ولو سا الله لحمعهم على الهدى
so never be among the ignorant.
ڡلا ٮكوٮں مں الحهلٮں
Only those who hear respond.
اٮما ٮسٮحٮٮ الدٮں ٮسمعوں
As for the dead, God will raise them,
والموٮى ٮٮعٮهم الله
then it is to Him that they will be returned.
ٮم الٮه ٮرحعوں
And they say: "Why has a sign from his Guardian not been sent down upon him!"
وڡالوا لولا ٮرل علٮه اٮه مں رٮه
Say: "God is indeed capable of sending down a sign",
ڡل اں الله ڡادر على اں ٮٮرل اٮه
but most of them do not know.
ولكں اكٮرهم لا ٮعلموں
There is no living being on the earth, nor bird flying with its two wings, but forms communities like you.
وما مں داٮه ڡى الارص ولا طٮر ٮطٮر ٮحٮاحٮه الا امم امٮالكم
We have neglected nothing of the Code.
ما ڡرطٮا ڡى الكٮٮ مں سى
Then it is to their Guardian that they will be gathered.
ٮم الى رٮهم ٮحسروں
And those who have denied Our signs are deaf and mute, in darknesses.
والدٮں كدٮوا ٮاٮٮٮا صم وٮكم ڡى الطلمٮ
Whoever God wills to lead astray, He leads astray;
مں ٮسا الله ٮصلله
and whoever He wills, He places on a straight path.
ومں ٮسا ٮحعله على صرط مسٮڡٮم
Say: "Do you see? If the punishment of God came upon you, or the Hour came upon you, would you invoke other than God, if you are veracious?"
ڡل ارٮٮكم اں اٮٮكم عداٮ الله او اٮٮكم الساعه اعٮر الله ٮدعوں اں كٮٮم صدڡٮں
In reality, it is Him you would invoke; He would then remove, if He willed, that for which you invoked Him, and you would forget what you associate.
ٮل اٮاه ٮدعوں ڡٮكسڡ ما ٮدعوں الٮه اں سا وٮٮسوں ما ٮسركوں
We have indeed sent to communities before you, and We seized them with adversity and hardship, perhaps they would beseech.
ولڡد ارسلٮا الى امم مں ڡٮلك ڡاحدٮهم ٮالٮاسا والصرا لعلهم ٮٮصرعوں
Why did they not beseech, when Our rigor came upon them!
ڡلولا اد حاهم ٮاسٮا ٮصرعوا
But their cores hardened, and the Diverter embellished for them what they were doing.
ولكں ڡسٮ ڡلوٮهم ورٮں لهم السٮطں ما كاٮوا ٮعملوں
Then, when they forgot what they had been reminded of, We opened upon them the gates of everything,
ڡلما ٮسوا ما دكروا ٮه ڡٮحٮا علٮهم اٮوٮ كل سى
to the point that, when they rejoiced in what had been given them, We seized them unexpectedly, and there they were, in despair.
حٮى ادا ڡرحوا ٮما اوٮوا احدٮهم ٮعٮه ڡادا هم مٮلسوں
Thus was the last remnant of the people who had done wrong cut off.
ڡڡطع داٮر الڡوم الدٮں طلموا
And praise be to God, Guardian of all beings.
والحمد لله رٮ العلمٮں
Say: "Do you see? If God took your hearing and your sight, and sealed your cores, what deity, other than God, would bring them back to you?"
ڡل ارٮٮم اں احد الله سمعكم واٮصركم وحٮم على ڡلوٮكم مں اله عٮر الله ٮاٮٮكم ٮه
Look how We diversify the signs, and yet they veer away from them.
اٮطر كٮڡ ٮصرڡ الاٮٮ ٮم هم ٮصدڡوں
Say: "Do you see? If the punishment of God came upon you, unexpectedly or openly, who would be annihilated, but the wrongdoing people?"
ڡل ارٮٮكم اں اٮٮكم عداٮ الله ٮعٮه او حهره هل ٮهلك الا الڡوم الطلموں
We send the envoys only as bearers of good tidings and warners.
وما ٮرسل المرسلٮں الا مٮسرٮں ومٮدرٮں
Whoever believes and becomes sound, no fear upon them, and they will not grieve.
ڡمں امں واصلح ڡلا حوڡ علٮهم ولا هم ٮحرٮوں
And those who have denied Our signs, the punishment will touch them, for having overstepped.
والدٮں كدٮوا ٮاٮٮٮا ٮمسهم العداٮ ٮما كاٮوا ٮڡسڡوں
Say: "I do not tell you that I hold the treasuries of God, nor that I know what escapes the senses, nor do I tell you that I am an Agent;
ڡل لا اڡول لكم عٮدى حراٮں الله ولا اعلم العٮٮ ولا اڡول لكم اٮى ملك
I only follow what is revealed to me."
اں اٮٮع الا ما ٮوحى الى
Say: "Are the blind and the seeing equal?"
ڡل هل ٮسٮوى الاعمى والٮصٮر
Will you not then reflect?
اڡلا ٮٮڡكروں
And warn by it those who fear to be gathered to their Guardian — they have, besides Him, neither protector nor intercessor — perhaps they will guard themselves.
واٮدر ٮه الدٮں ٮحاڡوں اں ٮحسروا الى رٮهم لٮس لهم مں دوٮه ولى ولا سڡٮع لعلهم ٮٮڡوں
And do not chase away those who invoke their Guardian, morning and evening, wanting His direction. Nothing of their account is upon you, and nothing of your account is upon them, that you should chase them away and then be among the wrongdoers.
ولا ٮطرد الدٮں ٮدعوں رٮهم ٮالعدوه والعسى ٮرٮدوں وحهه ما علٮك مں حساٮهم مں سى وما مں حساٮك علٮهم مں سى ڡٮطردهم ڡٮكوں مں الطلمٮں
And thus have We tried some of them by others, that they might say: "Are these the ones whom God has graced among us?"
وكدلك ڡٮٮا ٮعصهم ٮٮعص لٮڡولوا اهولا مں الله علٮهم مں ٮٮٮٮا
Does God not know best those who are grateful?
الٮس الله ٮاعلم ٮالسكرٮں
And when those who believe in Our signs come to you, say: "Peace be upon you.
وادا حاك الدٮں ٮومٮوں ٮاٮٮٮا ڡڡل سلم علٮكم
Your Guardian has prescribed benevolence upon Himself: whoever among you commits evil out of ignorance, then repents after that and becomes sound — He is indeed Most-Forgiving, Benevolent."
كٮٮ رٮكم على ٮڡسه الرحمه اٮه مں عمل مٮكم سوا ٮحهله ٮم ٮاٮ مں ٮعده واصلح ڡاٮه عڡور رحٮم
Thus do We detail the signs, so that the way of the severed may become clearly apparent.
وكدلك ٮڡصل الاٮٮ ولٮسٮٮٮں سٮٮل المحرمٮں
Say: "I have indeed been forbidden to obey those you invoke besides God."
ڡل اٮى ٮهٮٮ اں اعٮد الدٮں ٮدعوں مں دوں الله
Say: "I do not follow your emotions;
ڡل لا اٮٮع اهواكم
I would then be astray, and I would not be among those who let themselves be guided."
ڡد صللٮ ادا وما اٮا مں المهٮدٮں
Say: "I indeed rely on clear evidence from my Guardian, and you have denied it.
ڡل اٮى على ٮٮٮه مں رٮى وكدٮٮم ٮه
I do not hold what you seek to hasten.
ما عٮدى ما ٮسٮعحلوں ٮه
Judgment belongs only to God.
اں الحكم الا لله
He decrees the truth,
ٮڡص الحٯ
and He is the best of those who separate."
وهو حٮر الڡصلٮں
Say: "If I held what you seek to hasten, the matter would already have been decided between me and you."
ڡل لو اں عٮدى ما ٮسٮعحلوں ٮه لڡصى الامر ٮٮٮى وٮٮٮكم
God knows best the wrongdoers.
والله اعلم ٮالطلمٮں
And He holds the keys of what escapes the senses: none knows them, save Him.
وعٮده مڡاٮح العٮٮ لا ٮعلمها الا هو
And He knows what is on land and in the sea.
وٮعلم ما ڡى الٮر والٮحر
No leaf tumbles but He knows it; no grain, in the darknesses of the earth, nothing moist or dry, that is not in an explicit register.
وما ٮسڡط مں ورڡه الا ٮعلمها ولا حٮه ڡى طلمٮ الارص ولا رطٮ ولا ٮاٮس الا ڡى كٮٮ مٮٮں
It is He who keeps you faithfully, by night, and knows what you have perpetrated by day, then He raises you in it, so that an appointed term may be concluded;
وهو الدى ٮٮوڡٮكم ٮالٮل وٮعلم ما حرحٮم ٮالٮهار ٮم ٮٮعٮكم ڡٮه لٮڡصى احل مسمى
then to Him will be your return, and He will inform you of what you used to do.
ٮم الٮه مرحعكم ٮم ٮٮٮٮكم ٮما كٮٮم ٮعملوں
He subjugates above His obedient ones,
وهو الڡاهر ڡوٯ عٮاده
and He sends upon you preservers,
وٮرسل علٮكم حڡطه
to the point that, when death comes to one of you, Our envoys keep him faithfully, without neglect.
حٮى ادا حا احدكم الموٮ ٮوڡٮه رسلٮا وهم لا ٮڡرطوں
Then they are brought back to God, their true nearest Guarantor.
ٮم ردوا الى الله مولٮهم الحٯ
Is it not to Him that judgment belongs?
الا له الحكم
He is the swiftest of those who take account.
وهو اسرع الحسٮٮں
Say: "Who saves you from the darknesses of land and sea?" — you invoke Him beseechingly and covertly: "If You save us from this, we will certainly be among the grateful."
ڡل مں ٮٮحٮكم مں طلمٮ الٮر والٮحر ٮدعوٮه ٮصرعا وحڡٮه لٮں اٮحٮٮا مں هده لٮكوٮں مں السكرٮں
Say: "God saves you from it, and from every distress; yet you associate."
ڡل الله ٮٮحٮكم مٮها ومں كل كرٮ ٮم اٮٮم ٮسركوں
Say: "He is capable of raising up against you a punishment, from above you or from beneath your feet, or of embroiling you in factions, and making some of you taste the violence of others."
ڡل هو الڡادر على اں ٮٮعٮ علٮكم عداٮا مں ڡوڡكم او مں ٮحٮ ارحلكم او ٮلٮسكم سٮعا وٮدٮٯ ٮعصكم ٮاس ٮعص
Look how We diversify the signs, perhaps they will understand.
اٮطر كٮڡ ٮصرڡ الاٮٮ لعلهم ٮڡڡهوں
But your people have denied it, though it is the truth.
وكدٮ ٮه ڡومك وهو الحٯ
Say: "I am not, for you, a trustee.
ڡل لسٮ علٮكم ٮوكٮل
Every piece of information has its stable place,
لكل ٮٮا مسٮڡر
and you will soon know."
وسوڡ ٮعلموں
And when you see those who immerse themselves in Our signs, turn away from them, until they immerse themselves in another discourse.
وادا راٮٮ الدٮں ٮحوصوں ڡى اٮٮٮا ڡاعرص عٮهم حٮى ٮحوصوا ڡى حدٮٮ عٮره
And if the Diverter makes you forget, do not remain seated, after this reminder, with the wrongdoing people.
واما ٮٮسٮٮك السٮطں ڡلا ٮڡعد ٮعد الدكرى مع الڡوم الطلمٮں
And nothing of their account is upon those who guard themselves,
وما على الدٮں ٮٮڡوں مں حساٮهم مں سى
except a reminder, perhaps they will guard themselves.
ولكں دكرى لعلهم ٮٮڡوں
And forsake those who have taken their Law for distraction and play, and whom the present life has deluded.
ودر الدٮں اٮحدوا دٮٮهم لعٮا ولهوا وعرٮهم الحٮوه الدٮٮا
And remind by it, lest a Self be delivered for what it has earned, having, besides God, neither protector nor intercessor;
ودكر ٮه اں ٮٮسل ٮڡس ٮما كسٮٮ لٮس لها مں دوں الله ولى ولا سڡٮع
and even if it offered every compensation, it would not be taken from it.
واں ٮعدل كل عدل لا ٮوحد مٮها
Those are the ones who will have been delivered for what they have earned; they will have a drink of boiling water and a painful punishment, for having disowned.
اولٮك الدٮں اٮسلوا ٮما كسٮوا لهم سراٮ مں حمٮم وعداٮ الٮم ٮما كاٮوا ٮكڡروں
Say: "Should we invoke, besides God, what neither benefits nor harms us, and be turned back on our heels after God has guided us, like one whom the Diverters have lured on earth, bewildered,
ڡل اٮدعوا مں دوں الله ما لا ٮٮڡعٮا ولا ٮصرٮا وٮرد على اعڡاٮٮا ٮعد اد هدٮٮا الله كالدى اسٮهوٮه السٮطٮں ڡى الارص حٮراں
while he has companions who call him to guidance: 'Come to us'?"
له اصحٮ ٮدعوٮه الى الهدى اٮٮٮا
Say: "The guidance of God, that is the guidance; and we have been commanded to be true to the Guardian of all beings alone, and to maintain the Contact, and to guard ourselves toward Him."
ڡل اں هدى الله هو الهدى وامرٮا لٮسلم لرٮ العلمٮں واں اڡٮموا الصلوه واٮڡوه
And it is to Him that you will be gathered.
وهو الدى الٮه ٮحسروں
It is He who created the heavens and the earth in truth,
وهو الدى حلٯ السموٮ والارص ٮالحٯ
and the day He says: "Be",
وٮوم ٮڡول كں
it is.
ڡٮكوں
His saying is the truth,
ڡوله الحٯ
and to Him belongs the dominion,
وله الملك
the day the Horn is blown.
ٮوم ٮٮڡح ڡى الصور
The Knower of what escapes the senses and of what is witnessed,
علم العٮٮ والسهده
He is the Wise, the Intimately Acquainted.
وهو الحكٮم الحٮٮر
And when Ibrahim said to his father Azar: "Do you take idols as deities?
واد ڡال اٮرهٮم لاٮٮه ارر اٮٮحد اصٮاما الهه
I see you indeed, you and your people, in manifest error."
اٮى ارٮك وڡومك ڡى صلل مٮٮں
Thus did We show Ibrahim the sovereign dominion of the heavens and the earth, that he might be among those who possess certainty.
وكدلك ٮرى اٮرهٮم ملكوٮ السموٮ والارص ولٮكوں مں الموڡٮٮں
When the night closed in on him, he saw a heavenly body; he said: "This is my guardian";
ڡلما حں علٮه الٮل را كوكٮا ڡال هدا رٮى
but when it disappeared, he said: "I do not love those that disappear."
ڡلما اڡل ڡال لا احٮ الاڡلٮں
Then, when he saw the moon rising, he said: "This is my guardian";
ڡلما را الڡمر ٮارعا ڡال هدا رٮى
but when it disappeared, he said: "If my Guardian does not guide me, I will certainly be of the people gone astray."
ڡلما اڡل ڡال لٮں لم ٮهدٮى رٮى لاكوٮں مں الڡوم الصالٮں
Then, when he saw the sun rising, he said: "This is my guardian, this one is greater";
ڡلما را السمس ٮارعه ڡال هدا رٮى هدا اكٮر
but when it disappeared, he said: "O my people! I am indeed quit of what you associate.
ڡلما اڡلٮ ڡال ٮڡوم اٮى ٮرى مما ٮسركوں
I have set my direction toward the One who originated the heavens and the earth, wholly turned toward Him,
اٮى وحهٮ وحهى للدى ڡطر السموٮ والارص حٮٮڡا
and I am not among those who associate."
وما اٮا مں المسركٮں
And his people disputed with him.
وحاحه ڡومه
He said: "Do you dispute with me about God, when He has guided me?
ڡال اٮححوٮى ڡى الله وڡد هدٮں
And I do not fear what you associate with Him, unless my Guardian wills that something happen to me.
ولا احاڡ ما ٮسركوں ٮه الا اں ٮسا رٮى سٮا
My Guardian embraces all things in His knowledge.
وسع رٮى كل سى علما
Will you not then remember?
اڡلا ٮٮدكروں
And how should I fear what you associate,
وكٮڡ احاڡ ما اسركٮم
while you do not fear having associated with God that for which He has sent down upon you no authority?
ولا ٮحاڡوں اٮكم اسركٮم ٮالله ما لم ٮٮرل ٮه علٮكم سلطٮا
Which of the two fractions, then, is more worthy of security, if you know?"
ڡاى الڡرٮڡٮں احٯ ٮالامں اں كٮٮم ٮعلموں
Those who have believed and have not cloaked their faith in any wrongdoing — those are the ones who have security, and they let themselves be guided.
الدٮں امٮوا ولم ٮلٮسوا اٮمٮهم ٮطلم اولٮك لهم الامں وهم مهٮدوں
And that is Our argument, which We gave to Ibrahim against his people.
وٮلك ححٮٮا اٮٮٮها اٮرهٮم على ڡومه
We elevate in degrees whom We will.
ٮرڡع درحٮ مں ٮسا
Your Guardian is indeed Wise, All-Knowing.
اں رٮك حكٮم علٮم
And We bestowed on him Ishaq and Yaacoub;
ووهٮٮا له اسحٯ وٮعڡوٮ
We guided them both.
كلا هدٮٮا
And Nuh, We had guided him before;
وٮوحا هدٮٮا مں ڡٮل
and among his descendants, Dawud, Sulayman, Ayyub, Youssof, Moussa, and Harun.
ومں درٮٮه داود وسلٮمں واٮوٮ وٮوسڡ وموسى وهروں
Thus do We recompense those who do good.
وكدلك ٮحرى المحسٮٮں
And Zakariya, Yahya, Issa, and Ilyas —
وركرٮا وٮحٮى وعٮسى والٮاس
all are among those who are sound.
كل مں الصلحٮں
And Isma'il, Al-Yasa', Younes, and Lut —
واسمعٮل والٮسع وٮوٮس ولوطا
and all of them, We favored above all beings.
وكلا ڡصلٮا على العلمٮں
And among their ancestors, their descendants, and their brothers —
ومں اٮاٮهم ودرٮٮهم واحوٮهم
We elected them, and We guided them to a straight path.
واحٮٮٮٮهم وهدٮٮهم الى صرط مسٮڡٮم
That is the guidance of God, by which He guides whom He wills among His obedient ones.
دلك هدى الله ٮهدى ٮه مں ٮسا مں عٮاده
And had they associated, what they were doing would have collapsed for them.
ولو اسركوا لحٮط عٮهم ما كاٮوا ٮعملوں
Those are the ones to whom We gave the Scripture, the judgment, and the charge of informing.
اولٮك الدٮں اٮٮٮهم الكٮٮ والحكم والٮٮوه
So if these disown it, We have already entrusted it to a people who are not disowners of it.
ڡاں ٮكڡر ٮها هولا ڡڡد وكلٮا ٮها ڡوما لٮسوا ٮها ٮكڡرٮں
Those are the ones God has guided; model yourself, then, on their guidance.
اولٮك الدٮں هدى الله ڡٮهدٮهم اڡٮده
Say: "I do not ask you, for this, any reward.
ڡل لا اسلكم علٮه احرا
It is only a reminder for all beings."
اں هو الا دكرى للعلمٮں
They did not measure God with His true measure, when they said: "God has sent nothing down upon a human."
وما ڡدروا الله حٯ ڡدره اد ڡالوا ما اٮرل الله على ٮسر مں سى
Say: "Who sent down the Scripture that Moussa brought, a light and a guidance for mankind,
ڡل مں اٮرل الكٮٮ الدى حا ٮه موسى ٮورا وهدى للٮاس
which they put on parchments, making some appear and hiding much —
ٮحعلوٮه ڡراطٮس ٮٮدوٮها وٮحڡوں كٮٮرا
and you were taught what you did not know, neither you nor your ancestors?" Say: "God";
وعلمٮم ما لم ٮعلموا اٮٮم ولا اٮاوكم ڡل الله
then forsake them to their vain talk, in which they play.
ٮم درهم ڡى حوصهم ٮلعٮوں
And here is a Scripture We have sent down, blessed, confirming what precedes it, so that you may warn the metropolis of cities and those around it.
وهدا كٮٮ اٮرلٮه مٮارك مصدٯ الدى ٮٮں ٮدٮه ولٮٮدر ام الڡرى ومں حولها
And those who believe in the last life believe in it, and they carefully preserve their Contact.
والدٮں ٮومٮوں ٮالاحره ٮومٮوں ٮه وهم على صلاٮهم ٮحاڡطوں
And who then does more wrong than one who invents a lie against God, or says: "It has been revealed to me", when nothing has been revealed to him, and one who says: "I will send down the like of what God has sent down"?
ومں اطلم ممں اڡٮرى على الله كدٮا او ڡال اوحى الى ولم ٮوح الٮه سى ومں ڡال ساٮرل مٮل ما اٮرل الله
And if you could see, when the wrongdoers are in the throes of death, and the Agents stretch out their hands: "Bring forth your Self.
ولو ٮرى اد الطلموں ڡى عمرٮ الموٮ والملٮكه ٮاسطوا اٮدٮهم احرحوا اٮڡسكم
Today, you will be recompensed with the punishment of degradation, for having said about God other than the truth, and for having grown proud before His signs."
الٮوم ٮحروں عداٮ الهوں ٮما كٮٮم ٮڡولوں على الله عٮر الحٯ وكٮٮم عں اٮٮه ٮسٮكٮروں
Here you have come to Us alone, as We created you the first time, and you have left behind your backs what We had vouchsafed you;
ولڡد حٮٮموٮا ڡردى كما حلڡٮكم اول مره وٮركٮم ما حولٮكم ورا طهوركم
and We do not see with you your intercessors, whom you claimed to be associates among you.
وما ٮرى معكم سڡعاكم الدٮں رعمٮم اٮهم ڡٮكم سركوا
The bonds between you are indeed severed, and what you claimed has strayed away from you.
لڡد ٮڡطع ٮٮٮكم وصل عٮكم ما كٮٮم ٮرعموں
God is He who splits open the seed and the kernel.
اں الله ڡالٯ الحٮ والٮوى
He brings forth the living from the dead, and He brings forth the dead from the living.
ٮحرح الحى مں المٮٮ ومحرح المٮٮ مں الحى
That is God.
دلكم الله
How then are you turned away?
ڡاٮى ٮوڡكوں
He who splits open the break of day, and who made the night a rest,
ڡالٯ الاصٮاح وحعل الٮل سكٮا
and of the sun and the moon, a reckoning.
والسمس والڡمر حسٮاٮا
That is the measure set by the All-Powerful, the All-Knowing.
دلك ٮڡدٮر العرٮر العلٮم
And it is He who made for you the stars, so that you might guide yourselves by them in the darknesses of land and sea.
وهو الدى حعل لكم الٮحوم لٮهٮدوا ٮها ڡى طلمٮ الٮر والٮحر
We have indeed detailed the signs for a people who know.
ڡد ڡصلٮا الاٮٮ لڡوم ٮعلموں
And it is He who brought you into being from a single Self — then a haven and a repository.
وهو الدى اٮساكم مں ٮڡس وحده ڡمسٮڡر ومسٮودع
We have indeed detailed the signs for a people who understand.
ڡد ڡصلٮا الاٮٮ لڡوم ٮڡڡهوں
And it is He who sent down water from the sky, and We brought forth by it the vegetation of every kind, and We brought forth from it a greenery, from which We bring forth grain piled up, and, from the palm tree, from its spathe, bunches within reach, and gardens of vines, the olive and the pomegranate, resembling and not resembling.
وهو الدى اٮرل مں السما ما ڡاحرحٮا ٮه ٮٮاٮ كل سى ڡاحرحٮا مٮه حصرا ٮحرح مٮه حٮا مٮراكٮا ومں الٮحل مں طلعها ڡٮواں داٮٮه وحٮٮ مں اعٮاٮ والرٮٮوں والرماں مسٮٮها وعٮر مٮسٮه
Look at its fruit, when it bears fruit, and its ripening.
اٮطروا الى ٮمره ادا اٮمر وٮٮعه
There are surely signs in that for a people who believe.
اں ڡى دلكم لاٮٮ لڡوم ٮومٮوں
And they have assigned associates to God: the Occulted, though He created them;
وحعلوا لله سركا الحں وحلڡهم
and they falsely attributed to Him, without any knowledge, sons and daughters.
وحرڡوا له ٮٮٮں وٮٮٮ ٮعٮر علم
Glory be to Him! He is far above what they describe.
سٮحٮه وٮعلى عما ٮصڡوں
Unprecedented Creator of the heavens and the earth.
ٮدٮع السموٮ والارص
How would He have a child, when He has no consort,
اٮى ٮكوں له ولد ولم ٮكں له صحٮه
and He created every thing,
وحلٯ كل سى
and He is All-Knowing of all things?
وهو ٮكل سى علٮم
That is God, your Guardian.
دلكم الله رٮكم
There is no deity but Him,
لا اله الا هو
Creator of all things;
حلٯ كل سى
obey Him, then.
ڡاعٮدوه
He is, over all things, a trustee.
وهو على كل سى وكٮل
Sights do not overtake Him,
لا ٮدركه الاٮصر
but He overtakes sights.
وهو ٮدرك الاٮصر
He is the Subtle, the Intimately Acquainted.
وهو اللطٮڡ الحٮٮر
Insights have indeed come to you from your Guardian.
ڡد حاكم ٮصاٮر مں رٮكم
Whoever sees clearly, it is for himself; and whoever is blind, it is to his own detriment.
ڡمں اٮصر ڡلٮڡسه ومں عمى ڡعلٮها
And I am not, over you, a preserver.
وما اٮا علٮكم ٮحڡٮط
And thus do We diversify the signs; and so that they say: "You have studied", and so that We may make it clear for a people who know.
وكدلك ٮصرڡ الاٮٮ ولٮڡولوا درسٮ ولٮٮٮٮه لڡوم ٮعلموں
Follow what is revealed to you from your Guardian.
اٮٮع ما اوحى الٮك مں رٮك
There is no deity but Him,
لا اله الا هو
and turn away from those who associate.
واعرص عں المسركٮں
And had God willed, they would not have associated.
ولو سا الله ما اسركوا
And We have not made you their preserver,
وما حعلٮك علٮهم حڡٮطا
and you are not for them a trustee.
وما اٮٮ علٮهم ٮوكٮل
And do not insult those they invoke besides God, lest they insult God out of hostility, without knowledge.
ولا ٮسٮوا الدٮں ٮدعوں مں دوں الله ڡٮسٮوا الله عدوا ٮعٮر علم
Thus have We embellished, for every community, its work;
كدلك رٮٮا لكل امه عملهم
then to their Guardian will be their return, and He will inform them of what they used to do.
ٮم الى رٮهم مرحعهم ڡٮٮٮٮهم ٮما كاٮوا ٮعملوں
And they swore by God, with the utmost strength of their oaths, that if a sign came to them, they would certainly believe in it.
واڡسموا ٮالله حهد اٮمٮهم لٮں حاٮهم اٮه لٮومٮں ٮها
Say: "The signs are only with God";
ڡل اٮما الاٮٮ عٮد الله
and what makes you sense it?
وما ٮسعركم
Indeed, when it comes, they will not believe in it.
اٮها ادا حاٮ لا ٮومٮوں
And We turn about their Consciences and their sights, as they did not believe in it the first time, and We forsake them in their immoderation, where they go about blindly.
وٮڡلٮ اڡدٮهم واٮصرهم كما لم ٮومٮوا ٮه اول مره وٮدرهم ڡى طعٮٮهم ٮعمهوں
And even had We sent down to them the Agents, and the dead had spoken to them, and We had gathered before them everything, face to face, they would not have believed, unless God willed it;
ولو اٮٮا ٮرلٮا الٮهم الملٮكه وكلمهم الموٮى وحسرٮا علٮهم كل سى ڡٮلا ما كاٮوا لٮومٮوا الا اں ٮسا الله
but most of them are ignorant.
ولكں اكٮرهم ٮحهلوں
And thus have We assigned to every informant an enemy: the diverters among humans and the Occulted, who inspire one another with gilded saying, to delude.
وكدلك حعلٮا لكل ٮٮى عدوا سٮطٮں الاٮس والحں ٮوحى ٮعصهم الى ٮعص رحرڡ الڡول عرورا
And had your Guardian willed, they would not have done it;
ولو سا رٮك ما ڡعلوه
forsake them, then, and what they invent.
ڡدرهم وما ٮڡٮروں
And so that the Consciences of those who do not believe in the last life may bend toward it, and that they may be satisfied with it, and commit what they are to commit.
ولٮصعى الٮه اڡده الدٮں لا ٮومٮوں ٮالاحره ولٮرصوه ولٮڡٮرڡوا ما هم مڡٮرڡوں
Should I then seek a judge other than God, when it is He who sent down to you the Scripture, detailed?
اڡعٮر الله اٮٮعى حكما وهو الدى اٮرل الٮكم الكٮٮ مڡصلا
And those to whom We gave the Scripture know that it was sent down from your Guardian in truth;
والدٮں اٮٮٮهم الكٮٮ ٮعلموں اٮه مٮرل مں رٮك ٮالحٯ
so never be among those who contend.
ڡلا ٮكوٮں مں الممٮرٮں
And the word of your Guardian has been completed, in veracity and in justice.
وٮمٮ كلمٮ رٮك صدڡا وعدلا
None can change His words,
لا مٮدل لكلمٮه
and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
وهو السمٮع العلٮم
And if you defer to most of those on the earth, they will lead you astray from the way of God.
واں ٮطع اكٮر مں ڡى الارص ٮصلوك عں سٮٮل الله
They follow nothing but presumption,
اں ٮٮٮعوں الا الطں
and they do nothing but guess.
واں هم الا ٮحرصوں
Your Guardian indeed knows best who strays from His way,
اں رٮك هو اعلم مں ٮصل عں سٮٮله
and He knows best those who let themselves be guided.
وهو اعلم ٮالمهٮدٮں
Eat, then, of that over which the name of God has been mentioned, if you are believers in His signs.
ڡكلوا مما دكر اسم الله علٮه اں كٮٮم ٮاٮٮه مومٮٮں
And what is with you that you should not eat of that over which the name of God has been mentioned, when He has detailed for you what He has prohibited to you, except what you are compelled to?
وما لكم الا ٮاكلوا مما دكر اسم الله علٮه وڡد ڡصل لكم ما حرم علٮكم الا ما اصطررٮم الٮه
And many surely lead astray by their emotions, without knowledge.
واں كٮٮرا لٮصلوں ٮاهواٮهم ٮعٮر علم
Your Guardian knows best those who cross the limits.
اں رٮك هو اعلم ٮالمعٮدٮں
And forsake transgression, apparent and hidden.
ودروا طهر الاٮم وٮاطٮه
Those who acquire transgression will indeed be recompensed for what they used to commit.
اں الدٮں ٮكسٮوں الاٮم سٮحروں ٮما كاٮوا ٮڡٮرڡوں
And do not eat of that over which the name of God has not been mentioned: it is surely an overstepping.
ولا ٮاكلوا مما لم ٮدكر اسم الله علٮه واٮه لڡسٯ
And the Diverters surely inspire their allies to argue with you;
واں السٮطٮں لٮوحوں الى اولٮاٮهم لٮحدلوكم
and if you deferred to them, you would surely be among those who associate.
واں اطعٮموهم اٮكم لمسركوں
Is he who was dead, and to whom We gave life, and for whom We made a light with which he walks among men, like him whose example is to be in darknesses, unable to emerge from them?
اومں كاں مٮٮا ڡاحٮٮٮه وحعلٮا له ٮورا ٮمسى ٮه ڡى الٮاس كمں مٮله ڡى الطلمٮ لٮس ٮحارح مٮها
Thus were embellished, for those who disown, the deeds they used to do.
كدلك رٮں للكڡرٮں ما كاٮوا ٮعملوں
And thus have We placed, in every city, the greatest of its severed, so that they might plot there;
وكدلك حعلٮا ڡى كل ڡرٮه اكٮر محرمٮها لٮمكروا ڡٮها
but they plot only against themselves, without sensing it.
وما ٮمكروں الا ٮاٮڡسهم وما ٮسعروں
And when a sign comes to them, they say: "We will not believe, until we are given the like of what was given to the messengers of God."
وادا حاٮهم اٮه ڡالوا لں ٮومں حٮى ٮوٮى مٮل ما اوٮى رسل الله
God knows best where to place His message.
الله اعلم حٮٮ ٮحعل رسالٮه
A diminishment before God, and a severe punishment, will strike those who cut themselves off, for having plotted.
سٮصٮٮ الدٮں احرموا صعار عٮد الله وعداٮ سدٮد ٮما كاٮوا ٮمكروں
Whomever God wants to guide, He opens his chest to being true to God alone;
ڡمں ٮرد الله اں ٮهدٮه ٮسرح صدره للاسلم
and whomever He wants to lead astray, He makes his chest narrow and constricted, as if he were ascending into the sky.
ومں ٮرد اں ٮصله ٮحعل صدره صٮڡا حرحا كاٮما ٮصعد ڡى السما
Thus does God place filth upon those who do not believe.
كدلك ٮحعل الله الرحس على الدٮں لا ٮومٮوں
And this is the path of your Guardian, straight.
وهدا صرط رٮك مسٮڡٮما
We have indeed detailed the signs for a people who remember.
ڡد ڡصلٮا الاٮٮ لڡوم ٮدكروں
They have the Abode of Peace, with their Guardian,
لهم دار السلم عٮد رٮهم
and He is their protector, for what they used to do.
وهو ولٮهم ٮما كاٮوا ٮعملوں
And the day He gathers them all: "O assembly of the Occulted! You have indeed won over many of mankind";
وٮوم ٮحسرهم حمٮعا ٮمعسر الحں ڡد اسٮكٮرٮم مں الاٮس
and their allies among humans will say: "Our Guardian, we enjoyed one another, and we have reached our term, the one You had set for us."
وڡال اولٮاوهم مں الاٮس رٮٮا اسٮمٮع ٮعصٮا ٮٮعص وٮلعٮا احلٮا الدى احلٮ لٮا
He will say: "The Fire is your sojourn, you abide therein eternally" — except what God wills.
ڡال الٮار مٮوٮكم حلدٮں ڡٮها الا ما سا الله
Your Guardian is indeed Wise, All-Knowing.
اں رٮك حكٮم علٮم
And thus do We make the wrongdoers allies to one another, for what they used to earn.
وكدلك ٮولى ٮعص الطلمٮں ٮعصا ٮما كاٮوا ٮكسٮوں
"O assembly of the Occulted and humans! Did messengers from among you not come to you, relating My signs to you and warning you of the meeting of this day of yours?"
ٮمعسر الحں والاٮس الم ٮاٮكم رسل مٮكم ٮڡصوں علٮكم اٮٮى وٮٮدروٮكم لڡا ٮومكم هدا
They will say: "We bear witness against ourselves";
ڡالوا سهدٮا على اٮڡسٮا
and the present life deluded them, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were disowning.
وعرٮهم الحٮوه الدٮٮا وسهدوا على اٮڡسهم اٮهم كاٮوا كڡرٮں
That is because it is not in the nature of your Guardian to annihilate cities wrongfully, while their inhabitants were heedless.
دلك اں لم ٮكں رٮك مهلك الڡرى ٮطلم واهلها عڡلوں
And to each, degrees, according to what they did.
ولكل درحٮ مما عملوا
And your Guardian is not heedless of what they do.
وما رٮك ٮعڡل عما ٮعملوں
And your Guardian is the Self-Sufficient, possessor of benevolence.
ورٮك العٮى دو الرحمه
If He wills, He makes you disappear, and He makes succeed after you what He wills, as He brought you into being from the descendants of another people.
اں ٮسا ٮدهٮكم وٮسٮحلڡ مں ٮعدكم ما ٮسا كما اٮساكم مں درٮه ڡوم احرٮں
What is promised to you will surely come,
اں ما ٮوعدوں لاٮ
and you will not be able to render Him powerless.
وما اٮٮم ٮمعحرٮں
Say: "O my people! Act according to your position; I too am indeed acting.
ڡل ٮڡوم اعملوا على مكاٮٮكم اٮى عامل
You will soon know to whom will belong the outcome of the abode.
ڡسوڡ ٮعلموں مں ٮكوں له عڡٮه الدار
The wrongdoers indeed do not succeed."
اٮه لا ٮڡلح الطلموں
And they assigned to God, of what He scattered as tilth and cattle, a portion, saying: "This is for God" — according to their claim — "and this is for our associates";
وحعلوا لله مما درا مں الحرٮ والاٮعم ٮصٮٮا ڡڡالوا هدا لله ٮرعمهم وهدا لسركاٮٮا
and what is destined for their associates does not reach God,
ڡما كاں لسركاٮهم ڡلا ٮصل الى الله
while what is destined for God, that reaches their associates.
وما كاں لله ڡهو ٮصل الى سركاٮهم
How evil is what they decide!
سا ما ٮحكموں
And thus have their associates embellished, for many of the associators, the killing of their children, so as to cause their fall and blur their Law for them.
وكدلك رٮں لكٮٮر مں المسركٮں ڡٮل اولدهم سركاوهم لٮردوهم ولٮلٮسوا علٮهم دٮٮهم
And had God willed, they would not have done it;
ولو سا الله ما ڡعلوه
forsake them, then, and what they invent.
ڡدرهم وما ٮڡٮروں
And they said: "This is cattle and tilth forbidden: none shall feed on them, except whom we will" — according to their claim — "and cattle whose backs are prohibited", and cattle over which they do not mention the name of God, in invention against Him.
وڡالوا هده اٮعم وحرٮ ححر لا ٮطعمها الا مں ٮسا ٮرعمهم واٮعم حرمٮ طهورها واٮعم لا ٮدكروں اسم الله علٮها اڡٮرا علٮه
He will recompense them for what they used to invent.
سٮحرٮهم ٮما كاٮوا ٮڡٮروں
And they said: "What is in the belly of this cattle belongs exclusively to our males, and is prohibited to our wives";
وڡالوا ما ڡى ٮطوں هده الاٮعم حالصه لدكورٮا ومحرم على اروحٮا
but if it is a stillborn, they all share in it.
واں ٮكں مٮٮه ڡهم ڡٮه سركا
He will recompense them for their attribution.
سٮحرٮهم وصڡهم
He is Wise, All-Knowing.
اٮه حكٮم علٮم
They are indeed losers, those who killed their children out of foolishness, without knowledge, and who held as prohibited what God had provided them, in invention against God.
ڡد حسر الدٮں ڡٮلوا اولدهم سڡها ٮعٮر علم وحرموا ما ررڡهم الله اڡٮرا على الله
They went astray, and they did not let themselves be guided.
ڡد صلوا وما كاٮوا مهٮدٮں
And it is He who brought into being gardens, trellised and untrellised, as well as the palm tree and crops, of varied fare, and the olive and the pomegranate, resembling and not resembling.
وهو الدى اٮسا حٮٮ معروسٮ وعٮر معروسٮ والٮحل والررع محٮلڡا اكله والرٮٮوں والرماں مٮسٮها وعٮر مٮسٮه
Eat of its fruit, when it bears fruit, and give its due, on the day of its harvest,
كلوا مں ٮمره ادا اٮمر واٮوا حڡه ٮوم حصاده
but do not waste:
ولا ٮسرڡوا
He indeed does not love the wasteful.
اٮه لا ٮحٮ المسرڡٮں
And among the cattle, there are the beasts of burden and those of the fleece.
ومں الاٮعم حموله وڡرسا
Eat of what God has provided you,
كلوا مما ررڡكم الله
and do not follow the footsteps of the Diverter:
ولا ٮٮٮعوا حطوٮ السٮطں
he is indeed for you a manifest enemy.
اٮه لكم عدو مٮٮں
Eight, in pairs:
ٮمٮٮه اروح
of rams and ewes, two, and of goats, two.
مں الصاں اٮٮٮں ومں المعر اٮٮٮں
Say: "Is it the two males He has prohibited, or the two females, or what the wombs of the two females contain?
ڡل الدكرٮں حرم ام الاٮٮٮٮں اما اسٮملٮ علٮه ارحام الاٮٮٮٮں
Inform me with full knowledge, if you are veracious."
ٮٮوٮى ٮعلم اں كٮٮم صدڡٮں
And of massive animals, two, and of cattle, two.
ومں الاٮل اٮٮٮں ومں الٮڡر اٮٮٮں
Say: "Is it the two males He has prohibited, or the two females, or what the wombs of the two females contain?
ڡل الدكرٮں حرم ام الاٮٮٮٮں اما اسٮملٮ علٮه ارحام الاٮٮٮٮں
Or were you witnesses, when God recommended this to you?"
ام كٮٮم سهدا اد وصٮكم الله ٮهدا
Who then does more wrong than one who invents a lie against God, to lead men astray without knowledge?
ڡمں اطلم ممں اڡٮرى على الله كدٮا لٮصل الٮاس ٮعٮر علم
God indeed does not guide the wrongdoing people.
اں الله لا ٮهدى الڡوم الطلمٮں
Say: "I find, in what has been revealed to me, nothing prohibited to one who wants to feed on it, except that it be a dead animal, or spilled blood, or the flesh of swine — for that is filth —
ڡل لا احد ڡى ما اوحى الى محرما على طاعم ٮطعمه الا اں ٮكوں مٮٮه او دما مسڡوحا او لحم حٮرٮر ڡاٮه رحس
or an overstepping consecrated to other than God.
او ڡسڡا اهل لعٮر الله ٮه
But whoever is compelled to it, without being rebellious or crossing the limits — your Guardian is indeed Most-Forgiving, Benevolent."
ڡمں اصطر عٮر ٮاع ولا عاد ڡاں رٮك عڡور رحٮم
And to the Reoriented, We prohibited every bearer of an uncloven hoof: and of cattle and sheep,
وعلى الدٮں هادوا حرمٮا كل دى طڡر ومں الٮڡر والعٮم
We prohibited to them their fats, except what their backs carry, or the entrails, or what is mixed with a bone.
حرمٮا علٮهم سحومهما الا ما حملٮ طهورهما او الحواٮا او ما احٮلط ٮعطم
Thus did We recompense them for their iniquity,
دلك حرٮٮهم ٮٮعٮهم
and We are surely veracious.
واٮا لصدڡوں
If they deny you, say then: "Your Guardian is possessor of a vast benevolence,
ڡاں كدٮوك ڡڡل رٮكم دو رحمه وسعه
and His rigor will not be turned away from the severed people."
ولا ٮرد ٮاسه عں الڡوم المحرمٮں
Those who have associated will say: "Had God willed, we would not have associated, nor would our ancestors, and we would not have held anything as prohibited."
سٮڡول الدٮں اسركوا لو سا الله ما اسركٮا ولا اٮاوٮا ولا حرمٮا مں سى
Thus did those before them deny, until they tasted Our rigor.
كدلك كدٮ الدٮں مں ڡٮلهم حٮى داڡوا ٮاسٮا
Say: "Do you have any knowledge, that you could bring forth for us?
ڡل هل عٮدكم مں علم ڡٮحرحوه لٮا
You follow nothing but presumption,
اں ٮٮٮعوں الا الطں
and you do nothing but guess."
واں اٮٮم الا ٮحرصوں
Say: "To God belongs the conclusive argument.
ڡل ڡلله الححه الٮلعه
Had He willed, He would have guided you all."
ڡلو سا لهدٮكم احمعٮں
Say: "Bring your witnesses, those who testify that God has prohibited this."
ڡل هلم سهداكم الدٮں ٮسهدوں اں الله حرم هدا
If they testify, do not testify with them,
ڡاں سهدوا ڡلا ٮسهد معهم
and do not follow the emotions of those who have denied Our signs, and of those who do not believe in the last life, and who set up equals to their Guardian.
ولا ٮٮٮع اهوا الدٮں كدٮوا ٮاٮٮٮا والدٮں لا ٮومٮوں ٮالاحره وهم ٮرٮهم ٮعدلوں
Say: "Come, let me recite what your Guardian has forbidden you: do not associate anything with Him;
ڡل ٮعالوا اٮل ما حرم رٮكم علٮكم الا ٮسركوا ٮه سٮا
beneficence toward both parents;
وٮالولدٮں احسٮا
and do not kill your children out of penury —
ولا ٮڡٮلوا اولدكم مں املٯ
it is We who provide for you, and for them;
ٮحں ٮررڡكم واٮاهم
and do not approach indecencies, apparent or hidden;
ولا ٮڡرٮوا الڡوحس ما طهر مٮها وما ٮطں
and do not kill the Self that God has made inviolable, except by right;
ولا ٮڡٮلوا الٮڡس الٮى حرم الله الا ٮالحٯ
that is what He has recommended to you, perhaps you will reason.
دلكم وصٮكم ٮه لعلكم ٮعڡلوں
And do not approach the goods of the orphan, except in the best way, until he reaches his full maturity;
ولا ٮڡرٮوا مال الٮٮٮم الا ٮالٮى هى احسں حٮى ٮٮلع اسده
and give the measure and the balance faithfully, with equity —
واوڡوا الكٮل والمٮراں ٮالڡسط
We impose upon no Self except its capacity —
لا ٮكلڡ ٮڡسا الا وسعها
and when you say a saying, be just, even toward a relative;
وادا ڡلٮم ڡاعدلوا ولو كاں دا ڡرٮى
and be faithful to the pact of God:
وٮعهد الله اوڡوا
that is what He has recommended to you, perhaps you will remember.
دلكم وصٮكم ٮه لعلكم ٮدكروں
And: this is my path, straight; follow it, then,
واں هدا صرطى مسٮڡٮما ڡاٮٮعوه
and do not follow the ways, which would scatter you away from His way:
ولا ٮٮٮعوا السٮل ڡٮڡرٯ ٮكم عں سٮٮله
that is what He has recommended to you, perhaps you will guard yourselves."
دلكم وصٮكم ٮه لعلكم ٮٮڡوں
Then We gave Moussa the Scripture, as a completion toward him who does good, as a detail of every thing, as a guidance and a benevolence, perhaps they would believe in the meeting with their Guardian.
ٮم اٮٮٮا موسى الكٮٮ ٮماما على الدى احسں وٮڡصٮلا لكل سى وهدى ورحمه لعلهم ٮلڡا رٮهم ٮومٮوں
And here is a Scripture We have sent down, blessed; follow it, then, and guard yourselves, perhaps benevolence will be shown to you — lest you say: "The Scripture was sent down only upon two groups before us, and we were indeed heedless of their study", or lest you say: "Had the Scripture been sent down upon us, we would have been better guided than they."
وهدا كٮٮ اٮرلٮه مٮارك ڡاٮٮعوه واٮڡوا لعلكم ٮرحموں اں ٮڡولوا اٮما اٮرل الكٮٮ على طاٮڡٮٮں مں ڡٮلٮا واں كٮا عں دراسٮهم لعڡلٮں او ٮڡولوا لو اٮا اٮرل علٮٮا الكٮٮ لكٮا اهدى مٮهم
A clear proof has thus come to you from your Guardian, as well as a guidance and a benevolence.
ڡڡد حاكم ٮٮٮه مں رٮكم وهدى ورحمه
Who then does more wrong than one who has denied the signs of God and veered away from them?
ڡمں اطلم ممں كدٮ ٮاٮٮ الله وصدڡ عٮها
We will recompense those who veer away from Our signs with the worst punishment, for having veered away from them.
سٮحرى الدٮں ٮصدڡوں عں اٮٮٮا سو العداٮ ٮما كاٮوا ٮصدڡوں
Do they await only that the Agents come to them, or that your Guardian come, or that some signs of your Guardian come?
هل ٮٮطروں الا اں ٮاٮٮهم الملٮكه او ٮاٮى رٮك او ٮاٮى ٮعص اٮٮ رٮك
On the day certain signs of your Guardian come, the faith of a Self will not benefit it, if it did not believe before, or acquired, in its faith, no good.
ٮوم ٮاٮى ٮعص اٮٮ رٮك لا ٮٮڡع ٮڡسا اٮمٮها لم ٮكں امٮٮ مں ڡٮل او كسٮٮ ڡى اٮمٮها حٮرا
Say: "Wait:
ڡل اٮٮطروا
we are indeed waiting."
اٮا مٮٮطروں
Indeed, those who have divided their Law and become factions, you are in no way linked to them.
اں الدٮں ڡرڡوا دٮٮهم وكاٮوا سٮعا لسٮ مٮهم ڡى سى
Their matter rests only with God,
اٮما امرهم الى الله
then He will inform them of what they used to do.
ٮم ٮٮٮٮهم ٮما كاٮوا ٮڡعلوں
Whoever comes with the good deed has a right to ten times its equivalent,
مں حا ٮالحسٮه ڡله عسر امٮالها
and whoever comes with the evil deed is recompensed only with its equivalent, without being wronged.
ومں حا ٮالسٮٮه ڡلا ٮحرى الا مٮلها وهم لا ٮطلموں
Say: "My Guardian has indeed guided me to a straight path,
ڡل اٮٮى هدٮٮى رٮى الى صرط مسٮڡٮم
an upright Law, the doctrine of Ibrahim, wholly turned toward God;
دٮٮا ڡٮما مله اٮرهٮم حٮٮڡا
and he was not among those who associate."
وما كاں مں المسركٮں
Say: "My Contact, my beneficent practice, my life, and my death indeed belong to God, Guardian of all beings; no associate to Him.
ڡل اں صلاٮى وٮسكى ومحٮاى ومماٮى لله رٮ العلمٮں لا سرٮك له
And that is what I have been commanded,
وٮدلك امرٮ
and I am the first of those true to God alone."
واٮا اول المسلمٮں
Say: "Should I seek a Guardian other than God, when He is the Guardian of every thing?"
ڡل اعٮر الله اٮعى رٮا وهو رٮ كل سى
And every Self acquires only to its own detriment,
ولا ٮكسٮ كل ٮڡس الا علٮها
and no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another.
ولا ٮرر وارره ورر احرى
Then to your Guardian will be your return, and He will inform you of what you used to differ over.
ٮم الى رٮكم مرحعكم ڡٮٮٮٮكم ٮما كٮٮم ڡٮه ٮحٮلڡوں
And it is He who made you successors on the earth, and elevated some of you above others in degrees, so as to test you in what He has given you.
وهو الدى حعلكم حلٮڡ الارص ورڡع ٮعصكم ڡوٯ ٮعص درحٮ لٮٮلوكم ڡى ما اٮٮكم
Your Guardian is indeed swift in sanction,
اں رٮك سرٮع العڡاٮ
and He is surely Most-Forgiving, Benevolent.
واٮه لعڡور رحٮم
