Al-Muddaththir
The Cloaked One
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. O you who are covered in a cloak! Arise and warn,
ٮسم الله الرحمں الرحٮم ٮاٮها المدٮر ڡم ڡاٮدر
and your Guardian, proclaim His greatness,
ورٮك ڡكٮر
and your clothes, purify them,
وٮٮاٮك ڡطهر
and defilement, keep away from it,
والرحر ڡاهحر
and do not grace others seeking abundant return,
ولا ٮمٮں ٮسٮكٮر
and for your Guardian, be patient.
ولرٮك ڡاصٮر
Then, when the trumpet is sounded, that Day will be a difficult day, not easy for the disowners.
ڡادا ٮڡر ڡى الٮاڡور ڡدلك ٮومٮد ٮوم عسٮر على الكڡرٮں عٮر ٮسٮر
Leave Me with the one I created alone, and made for him extensive goods, and sons present with him, and smoothed everything for him amply — then he covets that I should give more. By no means!
درٮى ومں حلڡٮ وحٮدا وحعلٮ له مالا ممدودا وٮٮٮں سهودا ومهدٮ له ٮمهٮدا ٮم ٮطمع اں ارٮد كلا
He has been obstinate toward Our signs.
اٮه كاں لاٮٮٮا عٮٮدا
I will crush him with a steep ascent.
سارهڡه صعودا
He thought and determined. So may he perish, how he determined! Again, may he perish, how he determined! Then he considered; then he frowned and scowled; then he turned back and grew proud, and said, "This is nothing but illusion passed down; this is nothing but the saying of a human."
اٮه ڡكر وڡدر ڡڡٮل كٮڡ ڡدر ٮم ڡٮل كٮڡ ڡدر ٮم ٮطر ٮم عٮس وٮسر ٮم ادٮر واسٮكٮر ڡڡال اں هدا الا سحر ٮوٮر اں هدا الا ڡول الٮسر
I will make him burn in Saqar.
ساصلٮه سڡر
And what will give you an idea of what Saqar is?
وما ادرٮك ما سڡر
It leaves nothing and spares nothing,
لا ٮٮڡى ولا ٮدر
visibly altering humans.
لواحه للٮسر
Over it, nineteen.
علٮها ٮسعه عسر
And We have not made the companions of the Fire except Agents,
وما حعلٮا اصحٮ الٮار الا ملٮكه
and We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disown — that those given the Writ may be certain, and those who believe may increase in faith, and those given the Writ and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose cores is a sickness and the disowners may say, "What did God intend by this image?"
وما حعلٮا عدٮهم الا ڡٮٮه للدٮں كڡروا لٮسٮٮڡں الدٮں اوٮوا الكٮٮ وٮرداد الدٮں امٮوا اٮمٮا ولا ٮرٮاٮ الدٮں اوٮوا الكٮٮ والمومٮوں ولٮڡول الدٮں ڡى ڡلوٮهم مرص والكڡروں مادا اراد الله ٮهدا مٮلا
Thus does God send astray whom He wills and guide whom He wills.
كدلك ٮصل الله مں ٮسا وٮهدى مں ٮسا
And none knows the armies of your Guardian except Him.
وما ٮعلم حٮود رٮك الا هو
And it is nothing but a reminder to humans.
وما هى الا دكرى للٮسر
By no means! By the moon, and the night as it declines, and the dawn as it shines forth — surely, it is one of the greatest, a warning to humans, to whoever among you wills to advance or to remain behind.
كلا والڡمر والٮل اد ادٮر والصٮح ادا اسڡر اٮها لاحدى الكٮر ٮدٮرا للٮسر لمں سا مٮكم اں ٮٮڡدم او ٮٮاحر
Every Self is a pledge for what it has earned, except the companions of the right,
كل ٮڡس ٮما كسٮٮ رهٮٮه الا اصحٮ الٮمٮں
in gardens, they will ask one another about the severed: "What has led you into Saqar?"
ڡى حٮٮ ٮٮسالوں عں المحرمٮں ما سلككم ڡى سڡر
They will say, "We were not of those who made contact, nor did we use to feed the destitute, and we used to immerse ourselves with those who immersed themselves, and we used to deny the Day of the Due, until certainty came to us."
ڡالوا لم ٮك مں المصلٮں ولم ٮك ٮطعم المسكٮں وكٮا ٮحوص مع الحاٮصٮں وكٮا ٮكدٮ ٮٮوم الدٮں حٮى اٮٮٮا الٮڡٮں
So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them.
ڡما ٮٮڡعهم سڡعه السڡعٮں
So what is with them that they turn away from the reminder, as if they were terrified donkeys, fleeing from a lion?
ڡما لهم عں الٮدكره معرصٮں كاٮهم حمر مسٮٮڡره ڡرٮ مں ڡسوره
Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given chronicles deployed.
ٮل ٮرٮد كل امرى مٮهم اں ٮوٮى صحڡا مٮسره
By no means! But they do not fear the last life.
كلا ٮل لا ٮحاڡوں الاحره
By no means! This is a reminder;
كلا اٮه ٮدكره
so whoever wants may remember it.
ڡمں سا دكره
And they will not remember it unless God wills.
وما ٮدكروں الا اں ٮسا الله
He is worthy that one guard oneself before Him, and He is worthy to forgive.
